Vrang: ...So, how do you know the others?

Reggie: <He found me in a cave. I was lost and he took me in.>

Crow: "What do you mean?"

Gogie: <Ah...>

Olivine

Vrang: Like where did you meet Tagg, Crewe, Straw, Umbra, etc.

Reggie: <He isn't as bad as he seems, he's just had a hard life>

Olivine City

Crow: "By meeting some of them, then travelling around..."

Gogie: ...I think I remember Herbert saying something like that about Jay. <If you say so...>

A Race Track outside Goldenrod

-Crewe walks beside Conquistador along the perimeter of the stabling area, trying to figure out where in the world they're supposed to go-

-suddenly, an upside-down approximately ten year old girl appears hanging from a tree in front of them-

Girl: Hi, newbies!

GAH!

-reaches for her slingshot, then remembers Beedrill insistently placing it in her bags so she wouldn't attack strangers with it-

Who are you?!

Girl: I'm Johanna, racer extraordinaire! Who're you? Why's your Ponyta all scarred? What's his name?

Uh, I'm Crewe. This is Conquistador... he had an accident with some wild Pokemon a while ago.

Johanna: Aw, poor guy. My Ponyta's named Tipsy Turvy, after her momma Tipsy Time. She was my pap's 'dash. Turvy's all mine, though! She's gone off somewhere.

Uh, that's nice... Do you know where we go to, like, sign up?

Johanna: Oh, sure! Follow me!

-she swings up onto the branch, then drops down, right side up. She gives Conquistador a pat on the muzzle, then lets out a piercing whistle-

???: <I'm coming Jo, I'm coming!>

-a Ponyta filly, about the age of Conquistador, gallops over and skids to halt, nuzzling Johanna-

Johanna: Here's Turvy! Turvy, say hi to Crewe and Conquistador! They're newbies.

Turvy: <Hi there! Welcome to the track! Stay away from Stormy, Magenta, and Keys if he's in a bad mood, and you'll be fine! Oh, and don't call him Stormy.>

Conquistador: <But... Keys is my nickname...>

Turvy: <Best stay away from him the whole time, then! C'mon, Joey and I'll show you what to do!>

Johanna: -grabs Crewe by the wrist and starts skipping off towards a low white building- You're lucky we're the first people you met. Some people around here would try to scare you off so they wouldn't have to compete with you. Turvy and I are in it for the fun, though! And to crush Jamie and her Magenta, 'cause they're real jerks.

Uh... okay...

Johanna: So, why d'you wanna race? You're kinda older than a bunch of first-timers, 'specially since you have a Pony.

Well, Conquistador... runs a lot, and he doesn't like battling since his accident. And I read some newspaper articles about a special Ponyta... does he really have wings?

Johanna: -makes a face- Yeah, Stormy's special like that. His Trainer... ugh, just stay away from them, they're real jerks. Stormy kicks at Turvy all the time!

-Turvy nods solemnly-

If you say so...

Johanna: Oh, there's the registration building! Go up to the man behind the back, tell him "codeword hsifdrows". He'll bring you to the mailroom. Give the woman with the eyepatch three Pecha berries. Three. She'll give you a map. Follow it all the way to the end. Sign the red wolf's list in blood—

-Dope Slap-

I was totally with you until the eyepatch. Also, what the hell's a wolf?

Johanna: -pouts- The last guy I told that to actually got all the way to the scarekrow. I had to get Betty and Jim and Liza to help me out, but it was sooo worth it. Anyway, just go inside and talk to the lady at the desk. See you around the stables, Crewe!

Turvy: <... and then he goes "Oh, so that's what a yodel is! Poor Timmy was so gullible. Oh, we're going! Bye-bye, Keys! See you on the track!>

-Johanna waves and skips off, Turvy trotting after her. Crewe watches her go, then rolls her eyes and pats Conquistador's neck, then walks into the building to register-

Tris:-purrs as Vrang pets her, then turns to Reggie- <What, I can't wander over to people that I'm curious about?

Elise:Oh, there you are, Tris.

-Elise walks over and picks up Tris-

Elise:-To Vrang and Crow- Sorry if she caused any trouble for you boys.

Olivine

Vrang: Not at all. By the way, where did you get the little cutie?

Reggie: <Understand that he is my trainer.>

Vrang: I've been there before, though it's kind of creepy.

Reggie: <Stupid much?>

Elise:That's what everyone in Lacunosa told me when I was little. But I stopped believing them after a certain point. There's nothing scary about that place. Oh, my namd's Elise, by the way.

Tris:<Hey, I'm not afraid of some bighead Weavile.>

Olivine City

Crow: "Oh, it's no problem. After all, Sneasel-y-ness is almost always a good thing."

"Anyway, my name's Crow and these are Ghostus a-"

-Crow notices Gogie returned to his ball-

"Just Ghostus, then."

Vrang: Nice to meet you Elise, my name's Vrang.

Reggie: <-Sighs- You remind me of a old friend, she wouldn't back down either>

Elise:Hi Crow and Vrang.

-Tris shifts in Elise's arms-

Elise:Oh, and this is Tris if you didn't already know.

Tris:<Oh? And what happened to her?>
