-Maractus slashes Vespiquen at high speed-

-A swarm of Combee cover Vespiquen in what is effectively a suit of armor made of dried honey, which softens the blow-

Cilan: Maractus, use Aerial Ace again!

-Maractus complies-

Attack Order!

-Vespiquen points her arm at the oncoming Maractus, sending a swarm of Combee to attack-

Hoping Maractus uses Cotton Guard for ultimate defensive battle.

-Is still taking notes while watching-

Aerial Ace, Aerial Ace, Aerial Ace. Does he use nothing else?

Felis: <Considering that you taught that very same move to me, I don't think you have a right to complain about this.>

Sunny: <Yeah. Besides, what else can he do? Anom's whole team has a type advantage against his.>

Cilan: Maractus, use Cotton Guard!

-Maractus covers itself in fluffy cotton, lessening the damage from Vespiquen's Combee warriors-

Hmm... Vespiquen, another Defend Order.

-A swarm of Combee reinforce Vespiquen's armor-

So we both are inpregnable fortresses now, huh?

Cilan: Then let us see who is stronger. Maractus, use Aerial Ace!

-Maractus complies-

-The hit doesn't do much-

Vespiquen, use Attack Order!

-That hit doesn't do much either-

This could go on for a while.

-Through Nadia-

<Toothless: "Heh. So I finally get to talk to someone else...">

<Shaun: "It's nice talking with you, Toothless... Could you tell me anything about how Nadia's feeling at the moment...">

<Toothless: "Erm... Let me first ask Nadia if she'll let me talk about that...">

<Nadia: "Sure...">

<Toothless: "Well... To be frank, she feels kinda worthless...">

<Shaun: "... Did she tell you why she feels that way?">

<Toothless: "No, but I think I have an idea why... She was already kinda insecure about her flying before she had her wing broken, and I think that she feels kinda pathetic to be unable to fly in the form that she's waited all her life to attain in order to fly...">

<Shaun: "I see... Was there more?">

<Toothless: "I think she also feels a bit powerless... She was worried that she'd never be able to get revenge for getting her wing broken since she's so much weaker than that Hydreigon that attacked her... I told her that it was a bad idea, but I think that I might not have been able to fully convince her...">

<Shaun: "Figured... Was there something else?">

<Toothless: "... She feels kinda betrayed by her trainer...">

<Shaun: "... Oh... Tracer missing her evolution?">

<Toothless: "She apparently had a lot of faith in her trainer before she evolved into a Salamence... Evolving without him being able to take part in her moment really shook that... It made her question whether or not he really cared about her...">

<Shaun: "... But she knows that Tracer cares about her, doesn't she? I mean, he literally raised her from an egg...">

<Toothless: "I reminded her of that, and I think that she realizes that... But I don't think that I've been able to convince her to forgive him for missing her evolution...">

-Vespiquen is left barely conscious, its armor shattered-

-Vespiquen uses the ruby on her forehead to send light at Maractus, the light burning through the cotton and striking it-

Even if it doesn't defeat him, I have someone who can finish the job.

-Maractus is sent down to the yellow-

Cilan: Maractus, you know what to do.

-Maractus uses Aerial Ace-

I hope it's Volcarona.

-Vespiquen faints-

Time for... Volcarona!

Volcarona: <My turn finally? Oh, it's got its little petticoat on, huh? EAT HOT FLAMETHROWER!>

-Maractus faints as the cotton gets burnt off-

Cilan: Go Exeggutor!

-Exeggutor appears-

Use Hypnosis!

-Exeggutor's eyes glow yellow and it sends rings towards Volcarona-

A Bug type with ridiculously high Special Attack versus a Grass/Psychic type with poor Special Defense. Let's see how this works out.

-Decides to forgo chanting in favour of just cheering Anom on-
