-Another shard bounced off another Protect bubble, this one cast by Jammer-

/Duck/: >How did she manage to track us?

-The alley ends in a wall, but not a wall that's beyond scaling...-

Shift, chuckya!

-Pent throws the pink blob towards the foot of the wall where it inflates into a only slightly off copy of a Machamp. With another step Pent has one foot in the Machamp's lower arms-

Shift: <Oop ya go!>

-Pent is flinged over the wall and takes a moment to catch his breath on the other side and as the girl in the blue dress fires off another shot Shift collapses back into a puddle of pink to dodge the bronze shard before turning into a [Region-specific common birdmon] to fly over the wall-

Shift: <Good luck following us!>

-The bird-shaped-Ditto is scarcely over the wall before he notices that some brass and hemp cloth wings have sprouted from the pursuer's back-

Shift: <Crap! We need more speed!>

-Shift flies in ahead of Pent and morphs into a Rapidash which Pent swiftly gets onto to try and shake the chase-

Kai: Yeah, I understand that. It's so easy to let yourself get dragged down trying to support someone when it's just not something that you're able to do, especially if they're someone you feel like you have to appreciate and help one way or another. Family, friends... ex-SOs, in my case. There's just... a point where you need to remind yourself it's not your job.

Humilau City

<A little something we've worked on for years; something we're really proud of,> 9-Volt started.

"Electroweb-Delta," Colton said. "A variant of Electroweb that paralyzes a Pokemon on entry. Hit it!"

And then Thunder came barreling towards the Lucario.

Ramona: Oh... Okay, Close combat!

-"With a loud grunt Lucy slams the aura bone into the ground and propels her self at the electric bug with a flurry of blows."-

-"She's slow because of the paralysis."-

Humilau

Due to both his bug-type and Lucy's paralysis 9-Volt doesn't take as much damage as he should. When the flurry of punches and kicks stopped, 9-Volt bit down on Lucy’s leg and began to suck her dry with Giga Drain.

-"Lucys eyes widen with pain. Then, gritting her teeth, she pulled the last of her strength together and slammed the aura bone down at 9-volt."-

Urban Streets, The Chase

Shift: <Make way, coming through!>

Sorry, deadly situation unfolding!

-The mid-afternoon foot traffic darts out of the way and into the alcoves of buildings as the Pent and the Rapidash-shaped-Ditto barrel through the streets. Behind them a perfectly ordinary girl in a blue dress leaps from an alley, accompanied by a brass Noctowl-

Noctowl: There's too many civilians, close distance and engage with melee.

The Girl: Stupid bird he's too- It will be done

-She tries to run after the fleeing Pent, occasionally leaping through the crowd or onto a rooftop to get a better path but she's too slow on foot and eventually Pent and Shift speed out of sight into a cluster of buildings-

Noctowl: The quarry escaped pursuit. This will be reported, awaiting repercussion recommendation.

The Girl: Egh, not a- I deserve this.

Humilau City

Panicking at the Bone Rush dealing a fair amount of damage to him, 9-Volt reflexively exploded into a Discharge.

Ramona may have noticed Colton somehow putting up a Protect to defend against the Discharge, one hand keeping it up and another clutching the headphones around his neck.

Kai's Apartment

-Brie nods-

Brie: Right. Yeah. Okay. I'll tell her that.

So, uh, I've kind of been talking about myself the whole time. How are you holding up?

Kai: O-oh, you know, just keeping myself busy. Frontier duties, Ersatz... like I said, trying to work my way into a more heroic light with Rogue.

Kai's Apartment

Brie: Right.

...Uh, Ersatz?

Kai: Mew's clothes shop thing. It's just a sorta side job I keep myself available for from time to time, and the few times I'm called in usually just so happen to coincide with when I want to look good in a pink dress shirt.

-They grin.-

sootopolis city

-Lila and Cady are walking along the street-

Lila: I'm so nervous...

Cady: That's fine! I'd be too, if I was you...

Lila: So the cave of origin is here too... Shame you can't go in there.

Cady: Didn't you sneak into the bell tower one time though?

Lila: Yeah, but we were warned to not just go knocking on legendary's doorsteps. That would be rude, and you wouldn't want to annoy a legendary, right?

Cady: How did we get on this subject again?

Lila: I don't know, maybe me trying to distract myself?

Denali is struck and shivers more, health down to the yellow, <Not bad! Not bad! Fast learner you got there Lucius!>

Denali floats down to Lucius and smiles, <Seems like you're taking to the mentor role well, that reminds me. We need to schedule another therapy session sometime, I understand you're a little fae now so summoning you shouldn't be too hard.>

The elevator begins its descent and Jackal turns to the team, "Valuable theories Rogue, especially with how technologically driven poachers like Delta and Banshee are. Now as for direct combat, if you see a grunt with any form of petrifier, run. Petrifiers render you totally invincible but at the cost of any movement. They were designed to stop any living thing so I don't know how well protective moves work against them."

Hacks nodded, ~Make sure you also know hidden power, petrification only lasts 3 hours without a trophy case but can be easily be broken by any form of hidden power.~

Jackal nodded, "Even worse if what we're after is anything like the base where I lost my left arm."

Fox grimaced, "That was unpleasant."

"If we're caught at a base that's a front for Pokefutures, we're in trouble."

The elevator stopped, the door opened, and before them was a dimly lit hallway, a group of scanner drones drifted by, blue light emanating from their pen tips. Jackal looked to the group and motioned, "Follow the minimaps if you have them, open security any way you can. I'll be right behind you all."

Hacks took the first steps out.

"Assist me and Bishop in opening these doors," Silas responded, "We need to get control of all security systems and we'll get out."

Down in the hallways the troops could be seen trying to open the door as a cybernetic charizard slowly marched forward, cutting through what troops tried to stop it.

Silas and Roxy sat on the couch, Roxy smirking as Silas just looked confused, they were watching a movie recommended by Brooks and suffice to say, it was awful. Silas swore it had to be one of the worst movies he had ever seen and wondered how with his love of science fiction he had missed it.

"I don't even think these people know what acting or emoting is."

"Oh and you do?" Roxy snarked.

Silas blinked and looked over at her, "What do you mean by that?"

"Well, even if you have been getting better, facial expressions and actual emotion are beyond your purview."

"I can express myself."

"As a lucario sure, but come on Silas, you are so well known for your monotone you were once mistaken for a bot on a phone call."

Silas frowned a bit, "That's hurtful."

Roxy shrugged, "It's true though. I get you're trying and all, but I don't think figuring out how to do a few facial expressions is gonna help. Maybe you'll get it down."

Silas grumbled a bit, Roxy sighed and continued with, "It's just something you gotta work on. I get that your brain makes it so emoting is exhausting... wait how come your pokemon forms can emote?"

Silas shrugged, "Can we just focus on the movie?"

"Sure. I feel bad for these actors, I wonder if any of them regrets being in this movie?"

Silas let out a laugh and tried smirking, "I think anyone who was in "From Space With Love" should regret it."

Roxy laughed and Silas tried to focus on how bad the movie was, but now there was a nagging bit in the back of his mind, how much had his life been affected by a simple inability to properly express what he was feeling visually?

Space Gate Station, Past

-/Duck/'s frame nods and /Duck/ itself pops out of the frame to float into the door. Something makes a sound vaguely like howling and the door creaks open slowly-

/Door/: Sorry, without a full computer system I'm rather sluggish.

Island Raid, Past

-The cosplayer steps out of the elevator, the talk of how these poachers work had given her an idea. A wonderful, terrible idea-

-... That really couldn't be accomplished in this location because of a lack of what she needed to enact the plan-

-So instead she decides to follow the others and keep an eye out for any further drones that need hacking in either sense of the term-

Someplace Urban, A Cafe next to a Police Station

Yesterday was too close, I need the Key back.

-He's got some hastily-scrawled notes on the table under his cup of coffee-

Shift: <It was not too close, we totally got away.>

Barely, if I had shadowporting I could...

Shift: <Hold on can't some of the other Obscurics shadowport without a key?>

-Pent crosses out a few locations on a map-

Yes but I don't know how. Well I mean I know how, spooky obscura stuff but I can't get it to work for me.

Shift: <Maybe we need to get out of the city and find somewhere to relax. Or at least meet up with the J-Team and get their help on this>

-Pent shifts around some papers and crumples up a printout of a wiki article-

Because you can't feel it, there's a storm brewing and the sooner a group gets together the soon that storm is going to break out into an adventure.

Shift: <Okay but just maybe an adventure is exactly what you need.>

-Lucius tilts his skull at Denali.-

Lucius: <Um, thanks, I think. So... does that mean we win? We can do the therapy thing after this, it's not like I've got any major commitments other than babysitting the kid.>

-Gaia steps out after Hacks, Foxglove following behind her.-

Gaia: Foxglove knows Hidden Power, so we should be fine. Even so, is there any way to disable these petrifiers? If we can spoof the signals from their heart monitors, then disabling their equipment shouldn't be that much more difficult.

Halis lets their guard down, thinking the fighting part is over.

Halis: <...I swear I'm gonna have to take a long nap after this...>

Rogue: We've got Hidden Power covered, don't worry.

-Rogue checks their minimap, and starts lurking (nothing less) outside rooms in an attempt to glean one that might be of interest-

-"Lucy falls to the ground, panting heavily."-

Ramona: Okay, time for a rest Lucy.

-"She returns Lucy."-

Ramona: What was that thing you did?

-"Lucy falls to the ground, panting heavily."-

"Oh, it was just Protect," Colton waved off, looking at 9-Volt and contemplating returning him before ultimately deciding against it.

<That was Discharge!> 9-Volt interjected.

"I don't think she was talking to you."

Ersatz Game Show

Nimbus had since taken to silently watching the combat between Denali and Lucius. These two knew each other, he discerned. One of them was going to hold back. Only one way to know who.

Abandoned Sinn Elevator

With another nod towards Minerva, Amaterasu adopted another disguise, white like the first one, but fuzzier, with droopy ears as well as some strange black mask with glowing eyes.

Foxverse

With eyes seeing red, Colton approached the slightly ajar door and stuck his hands between the panels, grunting with exertion as he pulled the door apart.
