-Cid squints. Too much glass for a safehouse, and the warp of it doesn't suggest a glassblower's hand. Strange, though if the blaze of the fire was hot enough, any sand might have been glassed if it was the right kind…-

-Wait.-

-Under the glass and sand, a spark of color.-

-He whistles, and a nearby Passimian shoves the rubble away.-

-Cid frowns. What in the many hells of the world did a Simon & Garfunkle song have to do with someone burning down one of his safehouses?-

Her name's Elizabeth, has a [Japanese] surname but she looks mixed, probably Native Alolan, she's here because she thinks the J-Team can help with her problems. There's others I've sensed around, but I haven't been directly introduced to them yet.

-the video is grainy and black-and-white, but shows the view of a pathway from an outside corner of the house in the evening. At 15 seconds in, Garrett walks by, accompanied by a Rhyperior. He and the Rhyperior discuss something for a moment, their faces obscured by the top-down angle of the camera, then he lifts a fist to knock on the door. At that moment, the swirling sands behind him suddenly erupt into a wall of gothic architecture-like shapes and crash down on the pair in a wave exuding black mist. For several seconds, nothing can be seen for except presumably sand before the video cuts out-

Lazy Wobbuffet: <Woo, that boy got himself whacked, big-time!> -cringes at a glare from Uptight- <I mean. Not real bad, like. Like medium whacked.>

Channah: Is Blastoise okay?

Uptight Wobbuffet: -taps a pokeball lying next to them- <He is indeed, we just interrogated him. However, he asked to be returned to the Uncle as soon as possible, which we will be doing shortly. Gratuitous [Italian] expletive, that is quite a skittish mon for his size and strength.>

Lazy Wobbuffet: <Aw c'mon man, I'd be scared too if I got jumped by a frickin beach on a night like this. Like what'd you even do? Tell it to obey the goddamn hierarchy?>

Uptight Wobbuffet: -sighs- <It's just an overpowered Palossand, idiot cousin. That, by all accounts, seems to have been triggered into running off when that thief and the girl arrived. I'm halfway to betting that this is just a random encounter.>

Channah: Uh... You guys seem busy, I'll leave you to it. -turns to Tagg and shrugs- Well, I was getting sick of this place anyway.
