Chaos used Origin Pulse!

-Back with Ever, stakes shatter through the horizontal spikes he pushed off of and then they start growing at him again-

-Now with fire-

-as Breeze continues shredding new spikes, Ever sends out Solace as well-

Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.

Megan: -to Silas, hissing- Yes! Don't say it!

Megan: Pretty much. Just...a lot farther removed. I don't think Henry could've done this.

Megan: -hesitantly- A...traveling bard, has spread a story of the Shepherds, I don't know how accurate it is for you. Apparently some others from what might be your world have come here as well, not just from Ylisse in your time. I didn't really, uh, listen to their stories, though.

No mind to think. No will to break.

-Egghead is hit HARD but retaliates with a Dragon Hammer-

-Dryad is hit by the Shadow Claw and retaliates with one of her own-

-The Night Slash is dodged by Timpani and met by a Moonblast-

-The Shadow Ball is met by a Venoshock from Jelly Belly-

-Solonn attempts to Crunch anyone in his way, includung Zelrich and his mons-

-Stellar spits a Toxic at Zelrich as Gudrunn shoots a Shadow Ball-

-Meanwhile, Chiroptera strikes Gudrunn's mons from above as Bagon!Jackie sneaks around-

-The spikes are not shattered. The Origin Pulse blasts thin air.-

-Rend's metal skin cackles with static as he now flies at Chaos, the metal teeth in his maw giving a devilish gleam.-

-Shaun enters the area where the Gudrunn thing happened.-

Shaun: "I-is it normally like this?"

-Of course, there's probably no one around to hear him.-

"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"

-Chaos performs a truly unnecessary number of jumps and backflips as it anime retreats from Rend, throwing up large curved walls of stakes to cover its retreat-

-It will do anything to keep that maw away from it-

-As it moves back, it looks down at the hand flipping it off-

"You want this back??"

-It rears back with the arm-

-It catapults Ever's fae arm at Solace, the force of the throw harsh enough the wall of spikes it made shatters as does the asphalt below it-

-Rend flies through the tentacles with both Magnet Rise and his claws.-

-An aura of Obscura covers him - a primed grenade ready to go off.-

Well, Jacob's clearly in there somewhere. Nobody else could be that needlessly anime.

-Ever grabs the arm, and reattaches it-

Okay, phone's gone. That's phase one. Phase two...what was phase two again?

Ever: Solace, Ice Beam!

Solace: <...Really? Okay.>

-she leaps onto the shattered spikes, a halo of glowing blue light arcing from her horn, and a crackling beam of blue lightning fires at Jacob-

-he sends out Access amidst the flying snow and bits of Chaos and lasers, giving her a few whispered orders. She blinks, and darts off-

Man I hope phase two works.

-Chaos whirls around and blocks the Ice Beam with a wall of stakes-

-And then glances to see Rend closing in-

"Tch... you can never catch-" -And it flash steps back-

-Rend instantly closes the gap and smashes into it-

-Chaos' eyes burn with hatred as a massive telekinetic wave spreads out over the area-

-All the stakes in the ground lift up and rain down on Ever and Co.-

-It also gives a very Mean Look to Access to petrify her with fear-

I just need to hit the boy once and I can retreat... but until then...

-Rend latches onto Chaos, bites onto his face.-

-Ever, meanwhile, grabs Solace, and nudges Breeze. The Chimecho yanks the two into the air, and-

Breeze and Solace used Protect!

-a shield, part blue and translucent, part pitch-black and opaque, forms around the three, spikes shattering against it as it's driven into the ground-

-The air that passes by them as they move at Rend gouges out over a meter of concrete and asphalt, splitting electrical poles-

-A results of a direct strike from these does not need to be stated-

-The tar wells up on the ground around the entire area-

-A Latii shaped tar figure wells up near Ever-

-It's eyeless face gleams-

-Now with Glitchmatter digesting in his stomach, Rend shoots upward with a renewed Magnet Rise, this time going strictly vertical.-

-He doesn't speak. His focus becomes laser-tight.-

-Ever screams-

-meanwhile, Access returns, carrying a phone. As she enters the battlefield, pressing the power button, nothing happens-

-she darts over to Ever-

Access used Thief!

-and snags the Heliolisk's ball, darting out of combat again-

-Watching Rend and Access, as well as it's attempt to grab Ever fail and it's Muninn copy get rent in a single blow, Chaos withdraws immediately into Jacob's flesh-

"Tragedy I need to be NOT HERE"

-The air crackles and Jacob vanishes into a hole in reality-

-There is a beat of silence as part of a building crumbles into the street-

-Then laughter pools into the street-

"Find me again, oh great hunter. And you'll get one last shot at killing me."

F!Robin backs off because, well, she can't exactly compete with the ability to fly, but glares daggers at Grima, practically snarling. "At least mine didn't talk so much except to gloat."

Mira: ~Welp.~

Mordekai continues unfazed by the Dragon Hammers, which is impressive, and sends another Ice Beam at Egghead.

The Moonblast is similarly dodged, and Herald retaliates with Fire Blast.

Chaline is hit by some of the Venoshock but not much. She retaliates with another Shadow Ball.

Unfortunately for Balmung, they're slow, even for a Honedge. Fortunately for Balmung, Zelretch is not, and he grabs Balmung and parries the Toxic, countering Gudrunn's Shadow Ball with his own.

Zelretch: "Balmung, lend me your aid."

Balmung: <As one, sir!>

Balmung wraps his tassel around Zelretch's arm, and Zelretch's eyes take on a faint purple glow.

He catches the edge of his jewel sword on the top of Mordekai, and with the help of pillars of ice under his feet, propels himself onto Mordekai. Assuming that his ice beam will knock Egghead out, he jumps down and combat rolls forwards, and, hopefully, standing up and sprinting at Gudrunn.

Of course, no plan survives contact with the enemy, so.

All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.

-To Channah-

Not about my Johto journey, more like when I bothered to listen to my parents and take a year off from training afterwards and go back to school. It was hell.
