Ludmilla: Mom, look what one of the trainers around here gave me!

-Deziree blinks.-

Deziree: Amber? Huh.

Ludmilla: Can we revive it? Pleeeeeeease?

-Deziree tilts her head.-

Deziree: I dunno. Revived fossil Pokemon can be a big responsibility. You've seen how Laharl acts.

-Ludmilla hops up and down.-

Ludmilla: I know! I can handle it! I promise!

-Deziree can't help but smile at her adoptive daughter's boundless enthusiasm at the complete disregard for the natural order.-

Deziree: Alright. Let me give one of my associates here in Alola a call, and we can go visit him.

Fossil Restoration Center, Akala Island - Later

-Ludmilla is hopping from foot to foot, impatiently waiting for the scientist to come back out with her new Pokemon. Deziree smiles... as she polishes her ice ray in anticipation for whatever ridiculous shenanigans will inevitably entail from this venture.-

Ludmilla: I wonder what Pokemon it's gonna be...

Deziree: Well, only one Pokemon ever really comes from Amber, and... well... they're a doozy.

Ludmilla: A doozy?

-The trailer the scientist was using as a lab shakes and tilts as a screech comes from within. The door and the walls around it burst outward as a massive, stone-hided beast tears itself free.-

Aerodactyl: SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Ludmilla: Woah!

Deziree: Okay, that one's a LOT bigger than I expected!

-The Aerodactyl spins around before locking eyes on Ludmilla. The massive preavian charges, wings flared for intimidation and claws digging deep divots in the soil.-

Deziree: Ludmilla!

Ludmilla: I got this.

-Ludmilla stares back at the massive predator's eyes, holding her ground. The Aerodactyl closes the distance quickly, with its massive, teeth-filled mouth wide.-

Deziree: Ludmilla!

-The Aerodactyl moves to lunge... and snaps the air in front of the young girl's face. Ludmilla continues to stare down the ancient predator, not giving an inch.-

Aerodactyl: SCREEEE!

-It snaps again, and again, beating its massive wings in a vain attempt to force some reaction from this strange, fleshy thing that for some reason refused to give.-

Ludmilla: ...

Aerodactyl: SCREE!

-The Aerodactyl settles to the ground, the snapping and biting becoming far less enthused under the gaze of this strange creature with the purple eyes.-

Aerodactyl: Scree!

-Ludmilla takes a step forward. The Aerodactyl winces. Deziree is stirred from her dumbfounded stare.-

Deziree: I have the best daughter ever.

-The poor fossil scientist steps out of the hole that used to be his door in a daze.-

Fossil Guy: Turned out... a bit bigger... than I thought it...

-The Aerodactyl moves to snap at the man, but Ludmilla walks up and slaps it on the snout. The Aerodactyl shoots a glare at the girl before realizing that the girl was just going to glare back.-

Fossil Guy: She's a female, if my readings were right. Quite a territorial one at that, from the looks of it.

Ludmilla: Hm.

-The Aerodactyl sniffs Ludmilla's hand. When Ludmilla turns to look, the Aerodactyl winces and pulls away. Ludmilla just reaches over and starts stroking her muzzle, causing the Aerodactyl to blink in confusion.-

Ludmilla: I'm gonna name her... Astarte.

Deziree: Goddess of war? I'd say that fits.

Astarte: *Sniff* <Hmmmmm... fledgeling. But not. Strange.>

-Runs up the stairs and is immediately met by some disgruntled looking Best Berry employees, a few wielding stun batons-

-Dives behind a pillar as their mons fire a bunch of beam attacks, and Ali punches a nearby heavy desk at the Electabuzz in front, knocking him into a bunch of other mons-

Muddy: <Just like Pokefutures!>

A projected a smile, "Oh. Ready to try something new?"

The razor leaves stung B, "Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Pain is good! Getting somewhere!"

A darted forward and swung a fist at Lucario, B proceeded to toss a Earthquake at Takumi.

The Illusions just started to fire laser blasts at everyone else as Dreamblight continued to try and attack Pentigan, the Gaster Blaster making a comical "clonk" sound upon striking Its head.

"Carrying a lot of power on you! What are you, ghost lord?"

"Oh great. I think we got one of the ghosties back! Ever since I returned they've been more bothersome than ever! Some even tried cursing me!"

Jester turned into a mass of laughing mouths, the laughter echoed through the chamber as each mouth began to open into more mouths laugh.

Jester resumed shape, "No. They have no power any more."

A Grunt on the floor just below the entryway had caught sight of Colton and Julius rushing through the area. Wild or not, they weren't allowed here. He would have drawn his Pokeball to make an attempt to subdue them if it weren't for one of them tackling him.

The Lycanroc removed his scarf to reveal a human having him in a full nelson. He removed one hand to reveal a Dark Pulse ball spinning rapidly. "Where are Umbra's 'mons?" He asked.

The grunt refused to speak. And only then did Colton realize he didn't have the heart. Didn't exactly help much when a Mienshao came out of nowhere to attack Julius.

The Fighting-type and the Normal-type proceeded to fight amongst themselves as Colton grabbed his scarf. "What happened doesn't leave this room," he threatened as Julius executed a Play Rough to counter a Brick Break and then followed up with a Thunder Fang.

He left behind the Mienshao's twitching, unconscious form as Colton placed his scarf around his neck, the both of them deciding to descend further down. Why would they be so easily accessible, they reasoned. They NEVER put the objective on the first floor.

Colton looked at Julius looked at Spiritomb. Julius had actually taken some scrapes against that Mienshao, which was ironically perfect.

Because he had both Scrappy and Reversal. And so he dove.

Meanwhile, Colton had once again removed his scarf, mostly so he could meet the grunts at eye level. "You know, I've been looking for an excuse to actually get some combat experience in my human form," he taunted, summoning his Dark Pulse Orbitars. "I mean, if you want to prevent me or my team getting down there at all costs~"

Under the air of confidence, he was actually a little paranoid. Not for him, but for the Ammies. How were they doing?

Trista had long since positioned herself here. No doubt the J-team were here for their mons and the Mewnium-Z. But much as she was loyal to the company, stolen mons were not a hill she wanted to die defending... So, here she was.

You know, some days the job was quiet. That was a good thing. Some days, the job was too quiet, and you were bored outta your skull. Other days you were panicking because the job wasn't quiet.

This was one of those days.

In fact, Jimmy would go as far to say that it was a very bad day. Because not only was Best Berry under a raid, but it was under a raid by the goddamned J-team!

Jimmy swore, one of these days he'd probably get killed, a faceless grunt in the cogs of supposed "justice". He dreaded the thought, he was so close, he thought of Vivian, the smile on her face brought him some comfort.

Jimmy stepped out and adjusted his hat, "Come on Schmidt."

His Zoroark followed him, out into the battle, "Alright men stand down!"

He looked over to where the infamous "leader" was hiding. "Alright come on out! You all have some explaining to do!"

Schmidt stood right beside him, "I'm James Barnes Smith. We can talk about this, I just wanna know what the hell is going on, and whether or not you have a warrant for search!"

-Miss Prokleti jumps.-

Around this time Sylveon needed to recuperate. Her vocal cords were starting to hurt, so she went for a Moonblast.

"Oh, this is how it all ends? Defending what is just an empty cause?"

"You can have your triumph if you can pry it from our cold, dead claws."

"Now the trainer in the back is ready to attack as raises his scarf to his neck!"

"And the ensuing Lycanroc is ready to take stock of the uncountable bodies he'll check!"

<Oh~ yeah! This is where it gets frantic! We've done all these antics!>

And then there was a Lycanroc.

<You'll not have a prayer! Now WHERE IS YOUR SAVIOR?>

The ensuing "yeah"s from his phone were almost comedic.

<And the 'mon in the back said "Sylveon, attack!" and it turned into a basement blitz!> <And then Sylveon responded, "You couldn't think any bit harder?> as it turned into a basement blitz!>

The mood gone, Colton poked his phone with his nose a few times and shut the music off. Rather, he would when it was appropriate.
