Ever: Right.

-he recalls Jab, and sends out Breeze while Flint sends out an Infernape-

Ever: Back to actual Fire-types, I see.

Flint: Uh-huh. Infernape, Flare Blitz!

Ever: Breeze, do the thing.

Breeze: <Wait, do I actually get to do the thing?>

Ever: Yes, Breeze, you get to do the thing.

Breeze: <I LOVE DOING THE THING!>

Infernape: <Excuse me, but would you mind focusing on the Infernape about to pound your face in?>

Breeze: <Oh, yeah, sure, that.>

-and he casually bats Infernape out of the air with Psychic-

Breeze: <Fighting-types are hilarious.>

Flint: Your blazing determination has left me with only one Pokemon left! At this crisis point, me and my team are going to burn hotter than ever! Magmortar, Fire Blast!

Magmortar: -thumps down on the field, leveling both of his cannons at Breeze and opening fire-

-Mix glows softly, and the Fire Blast passes through an afterimage, Mix reappearing a few feet away. Ever breathes a sigh of relief-

Okay...Mix only has one move with real efficacy against Magmortar, and if he uses it, he'll get burned. Also, I will definitely lose.

Except...

Rufus: <I have to admit I can't really see how that would be productive.>

No! You are not the real Ladybug and Chat Noir, and you will not foil my plans either!

-a window in another universe closes in needlessly dramatic fashion-

Colton - after spending some time recuperating - entered the observatory. Overhearing the sounds in the back room, he knew that Lucario's trial was in full swing. He was possibly confronting the Totem at this point.

For now, he'd just chill in the lobby with his pho- DAMMIT ALL IT WAS STILL IN HIS JACKET!

Well, what would a few minutes be?

-the Mysterious Woman frowns at being left hanging, but shrugs it off-

Mysterious Woman: <...Well, uh, I'm gonna go now. This has been extremely tiring.>

-and she disappears with a small crack of thunder-

Ever: Mix, Grasswhistle!

Mix: <Uh...Young man, there's no need to feel down~>

Magmortar: <...>

Ever: ...Really? That's your idea of a lullaby?

Mix: <It always gave me good dreams.>

Ever: ...Fair.

Flint: If your Leafeon is going to be dodging, I'll just have to make sure he doesn't have any access to the field! Lava Plume!

Magmortar: <Rrr...>

-he lifts his cannons, and does a beautiful ballet twirl, spraying flames-

Let's hope that thing I saw on TV works...

Ever: Mix, Swords Dance!

Mix: <Eep! :3>

-he whirls himself around as the flames close in, and a small wind whips up, pushing the flames away and leaving him unharmed-

Well, that was close.

Flint: You can't keep running and hiding forever! Magmortar, another Fire Blast!

Ever: Mix, Last Resort!

Mix: <...Wait, really? I've never used that before. :3>

Ever: That's why it's a last resort.

Mix: <Huh...>

Ever: ...Just do it.

Mix: <Well, okay! :3>

-as Magmortar raises his cannons, Mix dashes forwards, an aura springing up around him-

Mix: <Kaioken! :3>

Ever: Remind me to revoke your anime privileges.

-and Mix slams into the Magmortar before he can fire, knocking him unconscious-

Mix: <Oh man, Butterscotch had better have seen that. :3>

Flint: Man! Burnt right down to cinders! I guess you've gotta keep going to the last of the Elite 4! Remember to keep your spirit hot!

Ever: Bye.

Lucian: And I'll turn you back once more!

Battle! Elite 4 Lucian vs.Oddtrainer Ever!

-Lucian sends out Mr. Mime, while Ever sends out Mix-

Mix: <It's just as horrifying as I remember. :3>

Mr. Mime: <There's no need for that...>

Lucian: Mr. Mime, Psychic!

-Mr. Mime holds out his hands, stumbling forwards as if caught in a windstorm-

-Mix, meanwhile, is hurled backwards by a very real windstorm-

Ever: Stupid mime tricks. Mix, show this clown what we do to....clowns. Iron Tail!

Mr. Mime: <Wait, no no no no no—>

Mr. Mime: <Ow...>

-faints-

Lucian: How'd you know Mr. Mime was a Fairy type?

Ever: It is? I just always wanted to hit a mime with a frying pan, and this was as close as I could get.

Gabe: HIT IT WITH A PAN! Just don't hit my team with one.

In comes Omega and Mecha. Mecha of course rolling because walking is for squares, and it might be because Omega's design is very heavy, but he has a certain swagger to him, probably because of the large arms.

Mecha sits down, "So. You're the intruder."

"HE LOOKS THE PART. THOUGH CLEARLY DOESN'T LOOK SMART ENOUGH. HOW DID HE EVEN GET IN?"

"Probably through one of the holes that damn Glitch made."

-Lucian sends out an Espeon-

Mix: <Eevee! :3>

Espeon: <Eevee! :3>

-and the two run over to nuzzle and chat-

Ever: Was that really a good idea?

-Lucian just sighs-

-Lucian sends out Bronzong, and Ever sends out Salamence-

Salamence: <Eep! Gyru!>

Ever: Nah, just some random Bronzong.

Bronzong: <Death to. The. Organics.>

Ever: ...Huh, maybe that is Gyru.

Lucian: Bronzong, Gyro Ball.

-Bronzong begins to rotate, getting faster and faster. Salamence begins to be drawn in by the spin-

Ever: If you get hit by that, it'll hurt a whole lot. Use Flamethrower!

-unfortunately, the Flamethrower just dissipates in the face of the spin-

Lucian: Bronzong will keep on spinning, getting faster and faster until you can't help but be drawn in! I'd advise you to cut your losses now!

Ever: I could do that. Or I could do this. Salamence, U-turn!

Salamence: <Wheee~>

-she dives out of the air, surrounding herself in a red light, and strikes Bronzong, dissipating instantly afterwards. Ever sends Breeze out in her place, and the Chimecho begins to be sucked in-

Breeze: <Ack! I'm not dust!>

Ever: Don't worry, this shouldn't hurt!

-Breeze is drawn in relentlessly by the vortex...-

-and gently bounces off of Bronzong-

Breeze: <My face!>

Ever: Uh-huh. Breeze, Shadow Ball.

Breeze: <I kind of always wanted to do this to Gyru, but I guess you'll have to do.>

-Breeze bounces a Shadow Ball off the ground and into the Bronzong's bell, where it ricochets around with a loud gonging noise before detonating-

Bronzong: <That was. Unexpectedly painful.>

-Is saying nothing but has a massive Echo-esque grin on my face as I watch-

-Lucian sends out an Alakazam-

Ever: Aha. So it's going to be a battle of minds, then?

Lucian: Indeed.

Breeze: <One of legends!>

Alakazam: <Children will weep as their parents recount the story of our conflict!>

-and the two stare at each other-

-intensely-

-a little dust kicks up, but that might just be a breeze from Ever leaving the door open-

Breeze: <Ow, my head!>

Alakazam: <Glorious victory.>

-Ever sighs, and sends out Jab-

Jab: <I get to fight an Alakazam?>

Ever: You get to fight an Alakazam.

Jab: <....>

Ever: Yeah. Would really be a shame to miss it.

-he coughs-

Mecha pops out of his just briefly, the body goes limp, <See! Porygon! Digital being!> He flew back into the body.

"Omega and I are operating specialized bodies built for us by Dr. Multiman and his forces. Omega is very happy with this."

"I HAVE SO MUCH DESTRUCTIVE POWER!"

-Ever sends out Nitro-

Nitro: <It's a teeter-totter!>

Ever: That's a Girafarig.

Nitro: <A what?>

Ever: You know, it's a...it's a Girafarig. Kind of looks like a Rapidash but with a long neck?

Nitro: <Oh.>

Ever: Yeah.

Nitro: <Why's it called that?>

Ever: Called what?

Nitro: <Girafarig. What does that mean?>

Ever: Oh. Um. Well, it's spelled the same back to front. Which is kind of funny, right?

Nitro: <Lots of words are like that though. Why not call it Hannah? What's Girafarig?>

Ever: ...I don't know. This conversation feels familiar.

Ever: Could you just...use Ice Beam on him, though?

-I dunno, bud, it says right here you did. Not the handwriting orders from Up There usually come in...I mean, it's honestly chickenscratch, but...-

Girafarig: <Do I look like the kind of mon that whinnies?>

-I mean...what other sound would you make?-

Girafarig: <I mean...Probably some sort of lowing noise? I'm based on a—>

Salamence: <Ha! Turnabout is fair play!>

Ever: I don't at all understand what you just did, Salamence, but nice work.

Lucian: Not at all bad. You've made it just as far as you did last time. Now, are you prepared for my final Pokemon?

-he sends out a Gallade-

Lucian: <Stone Edge!>

Kaito: Last time I had a battle with Ever, I think we came up with Rotom-Z and then something interrupted the battle and it was never finished? Memory's a bit blurry there.
