For the 2nd time in a week, Colton's mind snapped. Before he could fall all the way to the ground, however, his Ninetales ejected herself from her 'ball and slapped her trainer on the back of his head with all nine tails. "Right."

-The dust (and leafs, and steam vapor) clears, and reveals the battleground. Anja is revealed to be the last Pokemon standing.-

Anja: <WOO! SUCK IT!>

Libal: ... Wow. Huh. That was pretty good. I gotta say, your team's a lot tougher than I thought, though after winning the Kalos League I shouldn't be surprised.

Dune: Heh. That's nothing compared to Mt. Battle.

-Libal can't help but smile with pride.-

-Libal bows.-

-Dune smiles. He heals his team up at the nearby station, and heads up to the final platform.-

-Battlus chuckles and shakes his head.-

Battlus: Your family always were the smart alecks. Something you inherited from your grandfather, I should think.

-Dune can't help but glow at the comparison, not with anger, but with pride.-

As for the comments of someone being from a video game universe, ~Honestly I've seen weirder. Ever heard of Ditto Colony 14? Nothing there is real, it's supposedly a ditto related experiment gone wrong, we hope they never get out.~

Lisa: <Er, that would be Shinobi, one of the wedding guests.>

<And I suppose I should introduce Sketch. She's... my daughter, you could say.>

Sholto: <Ah, hey. For your information I only steal when undergoing artifact-induced personality changes!>

Alola, Present

Mt. Battle Summit

-The battlefield explodes into chaos. The Salamance closes with the ground, and is intercepted by the raging Tyranitar. The Crobat clips the kaiju in the shoulder with a wing strike, but is soon bombarded by flying rocks as the Salamance hits the ground, causing the whole platform to shake as the Tyranitar lands on top of him and clamps onto his neck. The Salamance roars in pain.-

Dune: Vega, cover Ajax! Rock Slide again!

Battlus: Crobat, Shadow Ball the Excadrill! Salamance, Earthquake again!

-Ajax roars in unbridled anger as he lifts the Salamance off of the ground, pinning a wing against his body, before slamming him back down against the platform. Vega is hit by the Shadow Ball, and is severely injured. Not injured enough to stop him from Rock Sliding, doing similar damage to the Crobat and knocking the Salamance flat.-

Battlus: Salamance, return! Go, Bronzium!

-A Metagross takes the field, his old eyes taking note of the raging sandstorm and raging Tyranitar besides.-

Dune: Uh oh. Vega, Earthquake!

Battlus: Bronzium, Earthquake! Crobat, Shadow Ball again!

-The platform shakes and rumbles as Ajax goes from the Salamance to the Crobat, grabbing it out of the sky and spiking it into the ground before getting caught in the double Earthquake crossfire. Ajax goes down, as does Vega - the Metagross looks severely winded, but is far from down himself.-

Dune: Damn. Go, Garuda and Hildr!

Battlus: Dusclops!

Dune: Heat Wave and Earthquake!

Battlus: Meteor Mash and Shadow Ball!

-Hildr hops into the air as Garuda releases a blast of heated air at the oncoming Metagross and his supporting Duclops. The Metagross doesn't reach Garuda in time before Hildr hits the ground, releasing a shockwave and knocking him off his legging, sending the old Metagross crashing to the ground. The Dusclops is staggered, but keeps his feet. Garuda is hit by the Shadow Ball, but holds firm.-

Battlus: Your team is quite fast.

Dune: Helps win battles fast.

Battlus: I'm afraid this battle is just getting started. Go, Flygon!

-The Flygon enters the battle, eager.-

Dune: Icicle Crash and Shadow Ball!

Battlus: Flamethrower and Shadow Ball!

-Hildr, thanks to her ability, manages to power through the Flamethrower and crush the Flygon in a single, powerful strike. Garuda and the Dusclops trade blows, and both go down. Dune sends out Anja, but Battlus doesn't send out anyone else.-

Dune: What, you only have a team of five?

Battlus: Not quite. I received a special request for whenever you finally made it up here.

-The floodlights go out. The arena is bathed in darkness, save the ambient light from the lava below.-

-The humming under Dune's feet grows in intensity as the magnetic heat shields raise power to maximum capacity.-

Anja: <Oh, I've got a bad feeling about this...>

Deziree: ... No. No way. No. Way.

DR. MOBIUS!: <By the stars they're really doing it.>
