-When Rose approaches this burrow, she would find not a Yungoos, like in the first burrow, but a Gumshoos-

-The Gumshoos stares at Rose and Nora, Biding its time-

Not like me, or Muddy and Helios, then.

-To Locke-

-Beat-

I can tell you're related to them, but not how you got here.

Hau'oli City

Locke: I at least remember being from this universe.

Lilac shrugs. "The rest of my crew is... Elsewhere. This is not my standard vessel. My family runs a luxury cruise service."

-To Locke-

Hmm... What kind of mons did your parents have?

Boat

Ever: Oh.

Muninn: <This becomes less trustworthy by the second.>

Ever: ...Hey, you're not, like, gonna push me into the ocean, are you?

Muninn: <I'm a little impressed that it took you this long to ask that.>

Hau'oli City

Locke: -blinks- Just a Chandelure and a Metagross, why?

Verdant Cavern

Calliope: <Hey, don't call me clown boy!>

-After being knocked back by the Tackle, he gets back up and keeps trying to fire Water Guns properly.-

Nora: <Ooh, great, I get to fight one of the big guys!>

-She starts sparking, in preparation to attack, but Rose calls out to her.-

Rose: Nora, wait, don't attack quite yet.

Nora: <Huh?>

Rose: Just use Nasty Plot until it does do something.

Nora: <...Oooooh, heh heh, all right!>

-This time the Water Gun hits, knocking out the Yungoos-

Yungoos: <I can do... what I want... clown boy...>

-They scurry back to cover-

-The Gumshoos keeps Biding despite Nora's Plotting-

-To Locke-

Umbra and Lina had more mons than just Lumos and Chrome when I met them... Hmm... possibly you are from this verse, but your parents weren't. Like, did they talk about their past at all?

Verdant Cavern

Calliope: <...Wow. I don't like that guy.>

Scarlette: Here, lemme get that sand out of your eyes real quick.

-She kneels down to wipe the sand away and heal Calliope, before going to find the next fight.-

Nora: <Nyeh heh heh... you're in for the biggest world of hurt once you slip up!>

-As they search, Calliope and Scarlette would run into a Raticate-

Raticate: <Ready to tango, kid?>

-They Focus their Energy for battle-

-Meanwhile, the Gumshoos attempts to unleash energy-

Hau'oli City

Locke: ...Good point. They ddn't talk about that much, and they disappeared so suddenly...

Verdant Cavern

Nora: <Whoops, looks like it's my turn now!>

Rose: Okay, now! Thunder Shock!

-Nora grins, and sparks fly and launch at the Gumshoos-

-Meanwhile, Scarlette is trying to think-

Calliope: <You bet I am!>

Scarlette: Uh, just— just use Growl, for now! C'mon Scarlette think Dark types have weird weaknesses come on...

-Calliope growls in an effort to intimidate the (much bigger) opponent-

Lilac looks offended. "I would never! You are a guest on my vessel, and to do something so rude, unprovoked, well, that wouldn't do!"

Ever may notice that there is no landmass around on the horizon at all.

Boat

Ever: Oh, that's a relief.

-he smiles, and then looks around-

Ever: So where are we exactly?

-The Thunder Shock does a lot of damage to the Gumshoos, who is nearly knocked out as a result-

-Without a word, they rush forth to Tackle Nora-

-The Growl just so happens to come off more cute than anything to the Raticate-

Raticate: <Hehehe... clowing around huh?>

-Thankfully, it does still lower the Raticate's attack, so when the Raticate tries to Bite down, it isn't as strong-

Verdant Cavern

Nora: <Oof!>

-She's smacked back.-

Nora: <Come on, I've had worse!>

-She uses another Thunder Shock-

Calliope: <Oh, come on! Enough with the "clown" stuff!>

Scarlette: Oh, right, Fairy! Duh! Disarming Voice!

Calliope: <How'd you like it if I called you a clown?>

-He says this with an odd tone of voice that somehow inspires emotional damage.-

Lilac giggles. "We're in the Alolan sea, dearie~ We'll be at Poni Island before you know it~ In the meantime, can I offer you some fruit?"

-And with that, the Gumshoos goes down-

-The Raticate is drastically wounded by Calliope's words-

Raticate: <Y-you don't think I can be a good clown?>

-The Raticate gets angry-

Raticate: <I'll show you! I'll bite your face off!>

-The Raticate rushes forth, trying to Hyper Fang Calliope's face, particularly the nose area-

Muninn: <No. Absolutely not. He will have no fruit.>

Ever: Sure, I'd love some.

-he takes a piece of fruit-

-there is now no more fruit-

Ever: What was that for?

Narrow: <Whoops. Clumsy me.>

Muninn: <...Good work.>

Narrow: <Thanks.>

Of course, there's also the possibility of implanted or tampered memories, but we'll see.

-To Locke-

I guess we still have a big mystery to solve.

Locke: -puts his hands in his pockets and frowns- Guess so. In the meantime, since you're with the J-Team can I ask you something?
