Be glad you found Ever first, because if I couldn't send you back to the Spirit World, I'd seal you into a rock and pitch it in the ocean. Which, considering all the pain and suffering you've caused over the millennia, would probably still not be a fully encompassing punishment.

I might do that anyway, if you try hurting him again.

-There's a panicked scrambling in the kitchen, before a Pichu runs out of the kitchen holding a plate with an admirable stack of pancakes on it over her head.-

Pichu: <Hey guys sorry guys I'm hungry and I just couldn't resist these are just so good thanks for the pancakes bye— !!!>

-She screeches to a halt in front of none other than Rose.-

Rose: ...Well then.

Pichu: <Hello! Sorry, lemme just— >

-She tries to step around Rose, but she moves to stay in the way. She tries again, only to be blocked again.-

Pichu: <...Uh, heh, um, okay, so, you're not letting me through, got it, um...>

Rose: We both know you can live without stealing those in particular.

Pichu: <...Ugh, fine. But they're not gonna want them back anyway, health code stuff and all.>

Rose: ...Okay I can't argue with that.

Pichu: <See! You agree with me! Now, lemme just— >

Rose: No.

Pichu: <Why not?>

Rose: Well, I don't want you to end up causing any more trouble, y'know? So there's only one way I can think of solving that issue.

Pichu: <...Oh, come on. If you want to battle, could it wait until I don't have a plate of pancakes in danger of going cold?>

Rose: Oh, fine. But I'm keeping an eye on you until you're done.

Pichu: <Sweet! Fluffy buttermilk goodness, here I come!>

-Rose finally lets the Pichu go outside, but makes sure to follow her.-

-Ludmilla is walking by. She notices something shiny in the bushes, so she jumps the fence.-

Ludmilla: Oh, someone dropped a di-

-She stops.-

-Her skin begins to crawl.-

-She sniffs.-

-Her eyes widen.-

-There are cat-things around.-

-Her eyes dart to the left, and sitting on a crate is a black, cocky-looking cat-thing.-

-Ludmilla's instincts scream at her.-

-Slowly but surely, Ludmilla pads forward, roller her steps along the side of her feet rather than stepping so as to lower the amount of noise she made.-

-Her fingers wrap around the TM.-

-The cat looks in her general direction.-

-Ludmilla makes a mad dive between the bars of the fence back onto the street.-

Ludmilla: *huffhuffhuffhuff* @_@

Blitz: "Looks like it"

-He shrugs-

"Guess that's a pretty cool idea though, being able to borrow a pokemon to ride without having to train one yourself"

-One plate of pancakes later, Rose and Domino are finally facing off with the Pichu.-

Pichu: -belch- <All right then! Prepare to have your butt kicked!>

Domino: <...If you say so, kid.>

Rose: Fury Attack her!

-Domino hops forward and gives a series of pecks.-

Pichu: <Ow! Rude!>

-The Pichu uses Thunder Shock, which doesn't actually do much to Domino despite the type advantage.-

Domino: <...Yeah, you're gonna need some more training.>

Pichu: <Psh, I can manage training just fine— >

-While the Pichu is babbling, Rose digs out a Poke Ball and tosses it at the Pichu.-

Rose: ...Huh. I expected more resistance.

-Rose lets the Pichu out.-

Pichu: <Hey! I wasn't ready!>

Rose: Well, it's too late for that. You got a name?

-The Pichu puffs out her chest proudly-

Pichu: <You're looking at none other than Nora Valkyrie!>

-Rose's eye twitches inadvertently-

Rose: Let's, er, just stick with "Nora" for now.

Nora: <All right, fiiine.>

-Muninn glares back at Tagg. It's kind of less impressive because he's 8 inches tall and has a floppy Latios head drooping in front of his face like a pompadour-

Ever: Wait, what, what? Demon mutagen? Moon tribe?

Muninn: <...Hmph. You want to tell him, or should I?>

Ever: But seriously though, thank you. I think I can keep him in check, though. I mean, look at him.

-he pets Muninn's head-

Hajime: "Yeah..."

"I might want to look into it a bit more, depending on stuff. I don't think most of my Pokemon would really be good at that kind of stuff. Except Rumba and swimming."

(On a street corner, a dark-skinned man with neon green hair styled into vaguely leaf-shaped dreadlocks, wearing a snappy orange blazer, long gloves with golden studs on the knuckles and a pair of extraneous aviator goggles, is having a hushed conversation over the phone. A Mimikyu wearing a Lunala-themed costume sits at his feet, while five other Pokemon - to wit, a Primarina, Ribombee, Sylveon, Klefki and Audino - are working with varying degrees of enthusiasm to construct what looks to be the beginnings of a stage or podium.)

Diane: Oh, hey, there you are.

-They head over to where Tagg is.-

Diane: ...So... the, uh, stuff that happened.

Ever: ...Wow.

-he turns to Muninn-

Ever: Dude.

Muninn: <...>

Blitz: "Yeah, my team doesn't really have a swimmer besides me and Juste, and he needs practice"

-He chuckles-

Muninn: <Care, ha.>

Ever: Who feeds you the Pokepuffs?

-Muninn grunts-

Ever: So, yeah, I've been looking around for other Pokemon, but I haven't really gotten along with any of the ones I met. This Rattata tried to sacrifice me to a Raticate for food. You know some of the mons here evolved different typings or something? It's pretty weird. Have you caught any Pokemon here yet?

Diane: ...Lanius. That's the big one I'm bugged about, since... y'know.

Hajime: "Oh, uh... Yeah, sure!"

Yeah, Lanius brought things up in everyone.

-To Ever-

Alola's isolation means an isolated gene pool, which is why some of the Pokémon here are different from elsewhere. Ice type Vulpix, Dark type Rattata, Psychic type Raichu and whatnot. It's kinda like how the Tyranitar in Sevault Canyon are smaller than the ones on the mainland, if more dramatic.

Perhaps Deltas would be closer, except this is the result of slow path evolution rather than rapid mutation. As for mons...

Tyto: -Pops out-

Blitz: "No problem, I'll just grab another one later or something if I decide to get one of those pagers. We'll just be careful not to run around town or something"

Ammon: <Probably does the kid more good than us anyway>

Diane: ...I thought I'd made it past the awful stuff Orre did to me. But if— if things like that could bring back that side of me...

Ever: Right, yeah, I figured it was something like that, it's just weird seeing it in person.

-Tyto is sent out-

Ever: Oh, hi! You're the Grass starter, right?

Muninn: <Rowlet.>

Ever: Why would I do that?

Muninn: <No, that's the species name. They're archers.>

Ever: ...Huh. Well, it's nice to meet you.

Hajime: "Right, yeah... Thanks, both of you."

-Maggie is looking around here after having gotten her trial charm and passport from Hala-

Maggie: "Hrm... Tagg's got Tyto... Bunch of people have probably already picked up a starter and when I tried I got a flaming hairball and I'm down another pair of jeans..."

"Wonder if there are any interesting Pokemon around here..."

Sweetie: <Maybe this might be an excellent chance to practice my honey-selling technique!>

-He seems to spot someone-

<Oh, there's the perfect chance.>

-He flies offscreen-

-Sweetie's voice slowly slurs into silence-

Maggie: "...Sweetie? Did something happen?"

-She turns around and sees a sudden flash before she blacks out-

Hou'oli City, Hotel

Susan: Three days of delay, that's... Almost unacceptable. The crew gets through just fine but it takes a day for the instruments to clear customs and two more to hire a van because they're not letting the Machamp carry the stuff because that counts as 'using a Pokemon as a vehicle'... Pent you've got the maps, is there we can hire a helicopter or something? There's four more concerts after this and I don't want to have to get this runaround each time we change islands.

-Pent indeed had the maps but he was busy copying numbers onto sheets of paper and pushing little sketches around trying to find a place they'd fit-

Susan: Pent, hello? -She walks over and looks at the obtuse scrawlings and marks he's made on the paper tourist map- I thought you said it wasn't a credible threat yet.

Pent: It isn't, I just want to be... I want to be sure that if it is then we've got every piece of information to fight it and I still need to research some other stuff. When's the concert?

-Susan sighs and takes a seat, pulling the map away softly-

Susan: The concert is when Latias gets here with the gear. Until then maybe... I dunno just calm down and do some touristy stuff?

Pent: Like what?

Susan: I don't know, go visit the Tourist Bureau or wander into the grass and catch something new! It's a while new region with a whole new set of mons, there must be something you want to catch?

Pent: ... I'll go see, maybe pick up a guidebook on native species while I'm out.

Susan: Good, now get out there and get some sunshine and fresh air into ya.

-Pent takes a little to get his stuff orderly on the table before heading out into town and walking towards the Tourist Bureau-
