Scott: Is it safe to guess the good news is about you beating the Frontier up north in Sinnoh, and the bad is about the glitch?
Mx. Amarin: ...Well, when you put it that way, I guess it's kinda predictable.
Scott: Yeah, old Palmer told me about the first bit. What's the news with the second, though?
Mx. Amarin: Well, something really bad's happened in Sunyshore, apparently. And at this point, I think it's better if I completely postpone my big showdown with you until not only that, but the entire glitch debacle is dealt with.
Scott: Yeah, I figured you'd get dragged back into official J-Team business while you were with them anyway. Good luck up there!
Mx. Amarin: Thanks. Hopefully by the time this is over, I'll also have figured out a consistent name.

(She looks down at her phone again to read the main body of the article on Sunyshore. Anyone else looking it up themselves will see much the same thing.)
In a shocking turn of events, authorities have confirmed that Sunyshore City, previously believed to have been miraculously untouched by the recent epidemic of Glitch activity across Sinnoh, has been entirely taken over by an anomalous entity.
What can be determined for certain is that the Glitch struck without warning sometime in mid-afternoon, 23rd October. Beyond this simple detail, eyewitness accounts conflict massively regarding recent events. To give just one example, Gym Leader Volkner and various Trainers at his facility have claimed the Glitch abruptly manifested in the Gym building at the start of its rampage, while others viewing the Gym from the outside insist it was among the last places to fall to the corruption.
Due to these opposing first-hand reports, as well as the thick glitch-coloured "fog" that has surrounded the city since roughly 4pm on the 23rd, no details on the current state of Sunyshore can be provided. Attempts to access the city by airborne drone were deemed fruitless after the robots were destroyed in violent Glitch attacks.
The city has been evacuated and is currently declared uninhabitable by both humans and Pokemon. In an official statement, however, Leader Volkner has given his blessing to any "heroic groups" who wish to enter the city and attempt to reclaim it. Tabloids have seized on the idea that Volkner was referring to the famed J-Team, who are known to currently be in Sinnoh.
