The Avenger tackles Shun to the ground to avoid Logi's Flamethrower as Iapetus's Golbat throws up a Protect in front of itself and its trainer.

Avenger: There's another good reason! I'm seeing things I'm seeing things that can't be a real Heatran because if it is we are TOTALLY SCREWED

Iapetus: ...Very well. On this occasion alone, we will put our differences aside. Stay here and let me rescue your friend from the cells.

He ducks past Logi and starts heading towards the lower level whilst the Avenger hurls an Aura Sphere at the Heatran.

Battle Zone Facility, Escape Tunnels

Janis's Barrier is almost broken by the Emperor's attack, and Smith's Malamar takes heavy damage from the Bug Buzz. Both of them retreat behind their legendary allies.

Blanche: Hold them here, if you can.

She, Smith and their captive descend deeper into the tunnels as Batastrophe and Helion catch up to the other pursuers.

Batastrophe: Helion, are you-

Helion: Get out of our WAY!

She fires a Thunderbolt from her gauntlets at Embla.

"Er, yeah..." Daydre summons Arahabaki and attempts to hang onto it with whatever handholds she can find.

Escape Tunnel

-Embla's hit hard by the assault and staggers back, but attacks everyone with Shadow Claw strikes-

-Something attempts to Shadow Claw Tex then Tagg and Batastrophe from behind as well-

-Gilgamesh attempts to lob Aura blades at the barrier while Enkidu Moonblasts the Malimar, joined by an Ice Beam from Kendall-

Hangar

-Logi is pummeled hard by the Fighting attacks and staggers back-

Logi: <Hold still! You're cheating!>

-belches a Magma Storm at Des and his mons as well as the Avenger-

He dives for Des and picks him up by the collar, hauling him out of the way.

Manami slams the ground, creating a wall of aura to protect the group.

Logi: <Stop cheating! I'm gonna fight the other guys, they'll go down easier! >:|

-He stomps off towards the escape tunnel, leaving globs of magma drool in his wake, though may be hit by an attack from the Avenger as he exits-

-Tex is grazed by the Shadow Claw, not quite enough to seriously injure him, but enough to get his attention. He turns to look at the offender, with an expression of blistering fury in his eyes. Bulldozer, Sir Gerald, and Johnny continue attacking-

Escape Tunnels

That make... it's Alakagross but she and other one I can sense coming are a lot... weaker than I'd expect them to be.

Guys!

Lepi: -Fires off a Bug Buzz at the Malamar-

Helios: -Fires a Heat Wave at Embla-

-Detects out of the way of the Shadow Claw-

Doc: <It's likely not gonna end well for them if they try to fight us.>

-Cue angry Heatran-

<Scratch that.>

Crochet: <A Heatran?>

Doc: <We can't let him leave!>

Sentinel: -Rockets towards Logi with an Earthquake Punch bared-

Roc: -Has landed on one of the outcroppings surrounding the base and is currently scanning for any exits-

Sholto: "Thank you!"

I should probably focus on the Heatran, though...

-He summons two clones of himself with a Double Team-

Liliendolch: <Ha, thou didn't a chance stand!>

-She looks at the Genesect-

Liliendolch: <...This, however, tougher will.>

-She tries another Bug Buzz-

Escape Tunnel

Emperor:Gaim!

-He sends out the Cherrim, who lets loose a Sunny Day-

And then-

-He clicks the red orb-

B-B-B-BURN! Red Emperor, power play!

-He raises his left arm-

Fire!

-And shots a small firebomb at Embla-

Escape Tunnel

-Embla is knocked to the red by the Heat Wave, firebomb, and to a lesser extent the other attacks but fires more Flash Cannons-

-The source of the other Shadow Claws is revealed to be a Shiny Mew with a glitch-like haze around it-

Mew: ~Inconvinience~

-It attempts to hit the others with projectile Psyshocks, hitting Gilgamesh, Kendall, and especially Enkidu hard-

Hangar

-Logi is slammed by the Earthquake Punch and dropped to the red-

Logi: <Ooh! I'll eat you    NOW!   >

-Lunges at Sentinel with a Crunch-

The Avenger fires a parting shot at Logi then gets to their feet, helping Shun up.

Avenger: T-that was, er, unexpected... are you okay?

Shun: Just about.

Just about, Alice emerges from the entrance to the lower level holding cells, dragging Iapetus with her.

Shun: What happened?

Alice: I escaped, he came down, I knocked him out. But that's irrelevant right now, as is the question of your identity. I'm assuming you're the rescue party. Do you have an escape plan?

Avenger: I... I think so. Everyone back on the airship!

They run back aboard, quickly followed by Shun and Alice.

Battle Zone Facility, Escape Tunnels

One of the Shadow Claws catches Batastrophe, and she gasps. She looks down at herself as a patch of red starts to stain her sky-blue costume.

Batastrophe: ...My dress...

She slumps over.

Helion: DANI!

Helion rushes over to the injured girl. Meanwhile, the Moonblast knocks out the Malamar, whilst Aura blades slice through Janis's Barrier and one cuts straight through her visor, breaking it in two. Janis sways on her feet for a moment, then clutches her head as she's hit by an overwhelming wave of psychic feedback.

Mr Smith: ...Uh oh.

He drops Lucius and runs for cover as the entire cavern starts to shake and a psychic shriek fills the tunnels.

The tunnel begins to cave in as Janis collapses, cutting off Blanche and Smith but leaving the unconscious Lucius and Janis in reach of the pursuers.

Roc's scanning would reveal that the only points of entry are the hangar doors and the escape tunnels.

-Embla is knocked out by a falling boulder; the Mew heads for her as she drops a prismatic green shard, which Enkidu quickly notices and grabs-

Escape Tunnels

-Uses the Infinity Judge to block the Psyshocks, and watches as Batastrophe is critically injured by an errant Shadow Claw-

Crap! They're just some foolish kids, we certainly can't leave them to die here.

Someone get those fools in costume, and stabilize the injured one's chest wound! Let's head out before we're all crushed!

Outside

Roc: <Now, if I were some person of low morals, which entrance would I come out at?>

-Noticing the cave collapsing, Tex rearranges his priorities.-

Tex: Glitch piece of crap! Bulldozer, escape manuvers!

-Bulldozer folds his legs in, and flies to Tex. Before Tex hops on, he notices that someone has Lucius, the area is clear, and that people are in immediate danger. He grabs the of the costumed people, puts them on Bulldozer's back while he uses Telekinesis to keep them steady, recalls his mons, and tries to help the wounded one while sending Bulldozer to the ship-

Battle Zone Facility, Hangar

As everyone runs into the hangar and boards the Stormchaser (with the sleeping Lucius, psychically-muffled Janis, injured Batastrophe and unconscious Iapetus being dragged on) the Avenger runs onto the helm of the Stormchaser and starts yelling at Echo.

Avenger: Fire all weapons at the gates!

Shun: What? But that'll collapse the-

Avenger: This place is collapsing anyway! Just do it! Please let this work please let this work I'm too young and average-looking to die

The Stormchaser unleashes everything it can into the hangar gates, blowing them open. As the airship starts to take off, the facility crumbles and the hangar collapses in on itself...

...and the Stormchaser, loyal to dramatic convention, soars out in the nick of time.

Battle Zone Facility, Outside

Rockslides tumble down the side of the mountain that housed the facility as it is reduced to rubble. Aside from the Stormchaser, nothing seems to have got out through either the hangar or the tunnels.

I thought Tex grabbed some of the kids as well, and sent them off on Dozer's back, but, hey, who am I to steal the spotlight
