Sergey put the small disk into his Pokétch, on the screen that flickered to live was a Blissey

Blissey: <Hello, I'm Blissey, and today I will show you how you can use 'Protect'>

Loran watched the video, looking carefully what the Pokémon in there did while trying his best to replicate it... with varying levels of success... to the amusement of the rest of the team... in the end Aicha also came and showed Loran whaat he needed...

After about an hour or so of training

Loran: <Yay~ fwiend~ I can it fwiends~>

He used protect.

Chapter 14: Memory

 First Disorder Carrier Ship 

-Kylo Robin is sitting to himself, thinking-

-Vauge fragments of old memories keep echoing in his mind... Fond memories of Umbra, Lina, Ammy, Arika, Nico... The rest of the J-Team... The Shepherds... Four others, one seeming increasingly... odd...-

-he shakes his head-

Kylo Robin:    ...I feel it again... The pull to those severed ties... Those "friends...."   

-he grits his teeth behind his helmet-

   ...Supreme Leader knows I do...   

-he looks down-

   ...Guide me. Guide me to the Glitch's darkness, its chaos...   

   ...The one who I once was...   

-he walks off, leaving the effigy of Grima's head he was staring at behind-

  Maz's Watering Hole 

-The group is sitting at a table talking-

Maz: <...You've got a map leading straight to that Umbra guy everyone's looking for? You are in one hell of a mess.>

Dave: Exactly, which is why you need to get it to the Rextance as soon as possible.

Maz: <How about... No. Not by myself. We can't run from this fight.>

Human!Ammy: What fight?

Maz: <The one fight that's worth it. The Glitch thrives on the hatred and malice within every being. It's making that's malignant tendency to spread between peoplemons worse with its own infectious nature. Fighting that together with compassion is no new hope, but it's the only hope we've got.>

-as Maz speaks, Arika thinks to herself-

Arika: Wait... If this is the right point then...

-gulps-

Oh no...◊ Whatever this whole scenario's equivalent of that is incoming... Bound to be even more dangerous... Screw playing along, I gotta get everyone outta here... But I gotta ease everyone out of the script too...

-to Maz-

Er, are you sure we can't just take a detour?

Mia: <...Huh?>

Arika: I mean, those First Disorder freaks have eyes and ears everywhere. They are guaranteed to already know we're here. Maybe we should find a nice, cozy spot in the galaxy away from them and anything they potentially have up their sleeve and then get to the Rextance?

Maz: ...

-adjusts her goggles to zoom in on Arika better and clambers over to her, knocking several objects onto Nandi's head-

Nandi: <Hey, watch it!>

Arika: ...What my Mantine said.

Maz: <Oh, I'm watching. Your eyes, in fact. Live long enough, you see the same eyes in different people. I see the eyes of someone who knows more than she's letting on.>

Arika: Erm... Okay, you got me, I'm technically a former Glitch trooper?

Maz: <Your eyes are still telling me you're hiding a bit more than that.>

Arika: ...

-throws her hands and suit foreclaws in the air-

Fine! I admit it! I know exactly what's going on here, that glitch trapped us in a frigging Star Wars pastiche!

Dave: ...Okay, now I know you're shitting us.

Mia: <That means he doesn't believe you.>

Human!Ammy: ...Actually, that could totally be what's going on.

Arika: It damn well is! I'm Finn, Ammy's Rey, Dave and Mia are motherfucking Han and Chewie!

Dave: ...You talking that new movie?

Arika: No shit! Didn't you see it?

Dave: -scoffs- After those prequels?

Arika: Okay, one, the prequels aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be, and two, this new one is really good when you're not living it!

Human!Ammy: I have no opinion on the prequels and at this point reaaaaally don't want to, but I wanted to see the new one and how much am I being spoiled?

Mia: <...I have no clue what you all are talking about and you're all annoying me with it.>

Nandi: <What does the Glitch have to do with this?>

Arika: Thank you, Nandi! It could have trapped us in a weird glitch illusion or funky alternate universe we all need to escape from as soon as possible! And I mean that because the plot's literal big kaboom is on its way!

-Maz just stares, blinking-

Dave: ...Or you could just be going nuts from the weird air in this bar. Me? I'm getting a fucking drink.

Mia: <This makes no sense, I'm going with Dave.>

-they leave-

Arika: W-wait! I didn't mean you guys could leave the party! Come baaaaaack!

-realizes something, grimaces and clenches◊ her fist, and yells out to Dave specifically-

I'M SORRY FOR JOKE-KINKSHAMING YOU OVER THE POOCHYENA THING DAVE I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS A SORE SPOT

Human!Ammy: -blinks, then smiles nervously- Erm, I'll get them! Mia likes me, I can try to get to her...

Nandi: <I'll go help Ammy!>

Arika: -sighs, sits down, places a suitclaw on her forehead- Thanks guys...

-Maz continues staring at Arika dumbfounded as Ammy and Nandi head after Dave and Mia, only for Ammy to stop when she hears a voice-

-Hers-

Ammy(?): <N-No, I'm sorry, I can't let you...>

-The actual Ammy turns toward the voice, shocked yet enraptured, and heads to its source-

-Nandi notices-

Nandi: <...A-Ammy?>

-Nervously follows-

-Ammy finds stairs leading to a basement-

Ammy(?): I never meant to hurt you... I still love you... I'm sorry...

Human!Ammy: ...

-descends downwards to find a dimly-lit basement-

Ammy(?): <She's dead. Replaced by this monster.>

-Ammy and Nandi advance warily through the basement-

-Ammy suddenly comes to a halt when she spots a small, wooden box-

-Sensing strange energy radiating from it, she opens it...-

-...To find several strange slips of paper, arranged neatly and with care. Ammy looks closer and realizes...-

Human!Ammy: ...Plane tickets? To Unova?

-she touches them... only for visions to fill her mind-

 Visions 

-Ammy, lies prone, a Haxorus advancing toward her in a lonely cavern filled with knicknacks. The Haxorus charges a Dragon Claw, and Ammy gets to her feet just in time to jump away...-

-Only to find herself in a dank castle with a Mismagius-Rayquaza hybrid looming over her; she spits a Dragon Pulse at Ammy, knocking her through the castle walls...-

-And prone again in front of a metal orb with many apparati and glowing markings, humming menacingly. She staggers to her feet to face it, only see it replaced by the monstrous Penumbra...-

-Who is calm, looking expectantly toward her as if hoping good news, their location sunny-

Penumbra: -in Umbra's normal voice- You OK, Ammy?

Human!Ammy: Umbra... Why are we here?

Penumbra: You've been so stressed lately... So I took you someplace we could relax!

-gestures to their surroundings-

And we're all alone! We can do whatever we want here!

Human!Ammy: B-But was it really necessary?

Penumbra: Of course! You've seemed so sad and scared for whatever reason, and I want you to feel better!

-Smiles-

I love you!

Human!Ammy: ...

-suddenly scowls-

Really? Why would I ever pick you over the others I care about? Tagg, Robin, Issun, Vlad... All would make better lovers than you. You can't even hide the monster you really are from me because you're too scared, you pathetic, petty, immature imp. You're no lover. You're no friend. You're no family. You're nothing to me.

Penumbra: -Expression turns to shock, horror, despair, then rage as she speaks-

You did this?! You did this after all I've done for you?!    After all we've been through?!   

-gives a feral roar and lunges at Ammy with a Shadow Claw. Ammy snaps back to normal, initially in shock, but closing her eyes anticipating being cleaved in two...-

-Only to feel nothing more than a change in her surroundings as she opens her eyes again, seeing the modern Ark of Yamato around her and a familiar Larvesta standing before her-

Ra: <...Mom?>

Human!Ammy: ...Yes Ra?

Ra: <I asked Dad if I was gonna get a little brother or sister but he said you and him can't have kids by yourself... But if he's right... How was I born?>

-Ammy stares at Ra in shock, before gritting her teeth, trembling, as tears stream down her face-

<...Mom? Why are you crying?>

Human!Ammy: -forces herself to regain her composure and fake a smile-

N-Nothing to worry about...

...Just... Something we need to tell you when you're older...

  Reality 

-Ammy snaps out of her trance, falling to the floor and panting heavily-

-Nandi approaches her carefully, but Amy's attention shifts when she spots somemon else approaching her worriedly as well: Maz-

Human!Ammy: W-What are those?! I-I'm sorry, miss, I shouldn't have gone down there...

Maz: <It's not your fault... The Tickets are powerful enough to have major effects on people, especially if their mind is burdened with worry like yours seems to be...>

Human!Ammy: ...The Tickets?

-Maz goes over to the box, gazing at The Tickets with reverence-

Maz: <The Tickets To Unova... The objects that catalyzed the J-Team's adventure, and thus deeply intertwined with their very fates and those of all they meet.>

Human!Ammy: You... Know of the J-Team?

Maz: <I know of them, yes. They are hardly the first, only, or last of their kind, but those Tickets are deeply bound to and driving of their story in particular.>

-she removes her goggles-

<And I'm no Aura Guardian, but I know Aura. It flows and ebbs through every living thing, and even some unliving...>

-she turns back to The Tickets-

<...And the Aura of this very universe, and others tied to the J-Team's story, channels strong through The Tickets. They are the keystones all our stories are ultimately tied to, to the point they can transcend time and space, as they did here.>

Human!Ammy: ...So wait, Arika was wrong? This isn't some Glitch-created simulation or alternate universe, this is ours in the distant intergalactic past?

Maz: <You catch on quick, child. We're all stuck a long time ago, though... in the exact same galaxy, rather.>

-Er, can I get an approximation of exact date, Maz, would need it for the wik- -

Maz: ~Not now, dragon, this is important.~

-...Okiedoke, nyan.-

Maz: -looks at Ammy more sternly- <You and your friends aren't the only ones stuck here. I've been stuck here for Lugia knows how long because my story can't get started until yours, and your friends on Team Umbra, and those tied to them, reaches a proper, happy conclusion. And that's why we all must work together to find Umbra himself.>

Human!Ammy: But what do those... Tickets have to do with it?

Maz: <From what I've heard it was your friend Nico who labeled your little group Team Umbra, was it? Wise choice of a moniker - he started all your stories and those of many others by becoming part of the J-Team, in a cosmic sense. If we can get The Tickets to him in relation, before the First Disorder does... We can all go home. We can all find our happy endings.>

-Ammy starts to smile, before realizing something, looking in panic at The Tickets, before glowering at Maz-

Human!Ammy: I'm not touching those things again. I... I can't face this knowing... knowing...

-breaks down in tears and runs-

Nandi: -previously watching and listening in shocked silence- <A-Ammy, wait!>

-to Maz-

<I'll get her! Don't worry!>

-she jets off after; Maz watches them go, stammering and then sighing-

-Ammy flees the watering hole before stowing away her armband and flying off into the trees-

Thoughts, nyan? I'd actually really want some this time, this one was kind of a whopper, nyan.

Alyesha: "Hehe, interested?"

Umbra: Excited to see where this goes.

Iggy:It smells so gooood~

Alyesha smiled, throwing the ladle she held in the air before catching it after it did a few loopings.

Alyesha: "Haha, thanks~ That's what I'm trying to achieve~ Want to have a bit? Or just wanna' talk? I'd be up for both."
