-Shadow!Joe takes the attacks before laughing at Dune-

-the poppy upon his arm releases its pollen again-

-the team begins to hallucinate. Their fellow team members and their Pokesonas take on the appearance of Shadow!Joe to the eyes of the beholder, and it's impossible to tell which is which. All, that is, except for one person-

Matador stabs his arms into the ground and holds on. Des grabs onto him so he won't blow away.

Matador delivers another Sucker Punch.

Des looks around at all the Shadow!Josephs.

"Only one course of action here."

He sits down cross-legged. Matador mimics him.

-From the tip of the pointing Shadow Joseph's finger emits a thin red beam that marks the target.-

Shadow Joseph!Mendel: Fire at will guys!

Shadow Joseph!Ren: BRILLIANT MENDEL!

-Izangi lunges forward to deliver a Double-Edge to the marked Shadow Joseph (although Izanagi's attack could still miss).-

-He rears back his sword and glows with power-

-He slashes at Galvani-

Verax: "Nrghh... Okay, let's try again!"

-And Take-Mikazuchi hurls his club at Soul-

Galvani: <EVERYONE, GET IN HERE!>

-A Fire Spin and Gunk Shot fly at the marked target.-

Pagoda

-Yurlungur lunges in to take the super Slash, and gets KO'd. Galvani chuckles softly as she drops to the ground.-

Galvani: <Heh... heh... heh...>

-A sudden surge of killing intent permeates the roof as Dune's eyes go fierce.-

-A furious, flaming Monkey slams into Soul with a furious Close Combat flurry.-

-Pent had been pretty quiet and back from the group at large for a bit before summoning Orpheus and stepping forward-

I take no small joy in having to scour you from this place...

-He nods at Orpheus who fires off a Hidden Power before he smirks-

-Pythagoras' old Reflect fades, so Mendel has Pythagoras raise another one.-

-Soul staggers back from the blows, glaring at everyone in turn-

-He's covered by multicolored lights again and then lets a Thunderwave loose at the group-

-The Thunder Wave hits Seiten, which slows him down... but not enough to prevent another Close Combat.-

Dune: I've heard this whole spiel before. This will end no differently.

Des and Matador are shocked and paralyzed.

-Pythagoras uses Magic Coat to Protect himself and others near him from the Thunder Wave.-

Mendel: Paradigm Shift! He now has Fire/Water typing!

Verax: -By virtue of Lightning Rod, Take-Mikazuchi simply absorbs and ignores the Thunder Wave- "Hah HAH!"

Soul: -Staggering back from the blows- "Ngh... hhhhhhgghhhhh!! Stop it! You... you can't beat me...!! I... I have to win. I have to be real!"

-He rears back and causes a large Surf wave to slam into the group-

-Decarabia uses Bubblebeam, taking a little damage from the Surf-

-Seiten is washed back, barely holding on by a thread. He holds in the back where he lands, immobile, while Dune maintains an icy glare. Whether the torrent of blood from his nose detracts from or adds to the effect is subjective.-

-Ren feels a heat in his chest.-

Ren: !!!

-summoning his Pokesona- IZANAGI!

-The Pokesona's black coat flares behind him as he swoops forward surrounded by green, Protective energy - dividing the Surf and reducing damage to those behind him. Like Mendel and Pythagoras, who are able to hold on and use a Recover to get them back on their feet.-

Old Chateau- one hour before sunset

-Ark jolted as she felt a something reach out towards her mind. A massive headache appeared as Ark clutched at her head in pain.-

Ark: <What is going on here!? Who or What is this?!>

?????: Dammit! I cannot believe we forgot about that! Uuuuugh,let me take care of this!

-House seemed to rumble in approval as ????? grabbed Ark's head with her hands.-

Ark: <LET GO OF M->

-Whatever she was going to say was cut shot as ????? sunk into her and Ark fell to to the floor. A few moments later, Ark? stood up shakily. A wave of malice was shot over whatever remained of the attempted communication.-

Ark?: Dammit.... stupid friendship concept.... ugh. This girl is lucky we need her, or I woluld've eaten her long ago. Okay y'know what? I deserve a reward for putting up with this... Nirvana, you better let me eat the brat after this... her spiritual energy is delicious enough, but her soul...

-Ark? gets a creepy grin on her face-

Ark?: I bet it's just to die for! Hehahahahaaa~!

-The door of the room opened and slammed shut several times in rapid succession.-

Ark?: Yes, yes, whatever. Ugh, the old you had a much better sense of humor.

Outside the Old Chateau

-The air seemed to get colder the closer one stood to the house. Anyone with electronics open would notice that interference, static, and power drainage seemed to increase as well.-

Soul: "STOP IT! Don't you see? I... I have to win!!"

-He's struck by the Bubblebeam and staggers back, stabbing the massive sword into the ground-

"I... I have to... I don't... mean anything otherwise... I only mean anything... to anyone... if I... win... survive... crush the weak... I need... to live... I have to win.... I have to win.... I must succeed... I will not let you destroy me."

-He stands up and Howls, boosting his own attack power and swings with a slash at Ren-

Verax: "Wait, Water? Sweet!" -He lets loose with a Thunder Punch from Take-Mikazuchi-

"If there is no way to win, I will simply force a way."

-Ren rubs his shoulder in irritation after Izanagi tanks the Slash.-

Ren: You have no say in the matter. Remember Soul, you, like all other shadows, rely on their host to exist. Now feel the weight of our will.

-Izanagi soars up and swings his spear-glaive in a wide, downwards arc sending a mass of super-sharp rocks fall at Soul. Izanagi's body glows brightly as A Heal Pulse from Mendel hits him from behind.-
