Glitchy thingy? I'm guessing that it was probably the same one that's in Sinnoh now, but she doesn't seem possessed to me. It's closer to a Glitch-tainting if that makes any sense, kinda like my iPhokex.

Helios: -Head tilt- <Didn't you say something about them not wanting to interfere with our development or something like that?

PEFE HQ

Fletcha: -thinking out loud- <Hmm, so that's what a glitchy mon looks like, good to know...>

-beat-

-realization- <Oh sorry, hi nice to meet you.> -small wave-

Brandon: <Hi there, your wing pattern looks nice and is certainly unique.>

Joseph: Oh? So what does that mean?

-Tinny flit flit flits-

Tinny: <three of m>

Mt. Pyre

-The Scizor continues to destroy the series of fake Zeals. Zeal sighs.-

Zeal: Okay... we've had our fun. Todd!

-A Fire Blast flies toward the Scizor and knocks it back. The Scizor glares at Todd.-

Boatman: When did... Never mind, take it out!

-The Scizor charges at Todd, dodging one Fire Blast, but is hit by the next and falls to its knees.-

Zeal: One last time!

-Todd steps toward the Scizor and readies another Fire Blast.-

Boatman: Enough.

-Todd is knocked back by a sudden blast of scalding water from a Slowbro beside Boatman. Boatman snaps, and the Slowbro attacks again. Boatman calmly glances around the room, then points. The Scizor pushes himself to his feet, flies in that direction, and reaches for the air in front of him. The real Zeal appears in his grasp.-

Zeal: Nghah!

-The Scizor pins him to the ground, and the tablet drops to the floor next to him. Todd fights back against the Slowbro, but is ultimately defeated. Noel tries to intervene, but the Slowbro calmly launches a Thunder Wave, paralyzing him.-

Boatman: ...I have more than one Pokémon.

-He picks up the tablet at Zeal's side and looks it over.-

Boatman: And I'll be taking this.

-He puts it into his bag, then shakes his head.-

Boatman: You've caused me a lot of trouble. If you're never going to answer my questions, there's little point in keeping you alive.

-Boatman turns to walk away, nodding at the the Scizor, who tightens his grip.-

Zeal: W-wait...!

-Boatman turns around, nodding again. The Scizor relaxes a little.-

Boatman: ...What? Go on.

Zeal: Iulianus...

-He coughs, which sounds horribly choked with the claw around his neck.-

Iulianus is probably still alive.

-Boatman's eyes widen. He steps toward Zeal and kneels next to him.-

Boatman: What do you mean? How do you know this?

Zeal: His father told me... his body... still hasn't been found...

-Boatman stands up and frowns.-

Boatman: That's all? That could mean anything.

-He nods to the Scizor again.-

You may continue.

-The Scizor tightens its grip once more.-

Zeal: N-no... please...

-Boatman ignores him and turns to walk away again. He signals to the Slowbro to follow. The Slowbro steps toward him, and is hit by a Thunderbolt. The Scizor momentarily forgets about killing Zeal and looks for the source, with his claw still around the latter's neck. Boatman, too, glances around the room.-

Boatman: There's another...

-The Scizor is knocked away from Zeal. Boatman turns pale when he sees the attacker.-

Boatman: A... A Latias?!

-The Scizor stands up and looks back at Boatman. Boatman sighs.-

Boatman: ...Fine. We'll end it here. Let's hope there isn't a next time.

-Boatman walks out, followed by the slightly-dazed Slowbro. The Scizor gives one last glare at Gui and follows as well. Gui turns back to Zeal.-

Gui: ~You alright?~

Zeal: I-I...

-He coughs again.-

I think so, yeah.

-He smiles.-

Thanks, Gui.

Battle Frontier Beach

Duirel: <Hm.>

-with everything around him frozen, Duirel takes a moment to analyze the incoming energy sword-

Duirel: <Hmm. Probably made out of some sort of suspended plasma field.>

-he strolls out of the way-

Duirel: <Ordinarily I would just Flamethrower you, but you are a human, and I don't imagine Vilkas would approve...>

-he yawns- <What do you suppose I should do, Secant?>

-Secant, of course, is occupied with tumbling very slowly-

Duirel: <Hmm. A fair idea. Theoretically, my own flames should create a similar effect, which might allow me to block the sword.>

<If not...well, it's only fur.>

-Duirel returns to his initial position, and then whips around as he comes out of Extremespeed time, his tail igniting-

-Duel of the Fates may begin playing at this point-

-meanwhile, Vilkas sends out Klavazazel-

Klavazazel: -yelps- <Hey! What gives?>

Vilkas: Sorry, Klav, but you can tough this out. Use Dark Pulse on the giant glowing Breloom.

Klavazazel: <Is this...have my dreams finally arrived? Is it...

AN ANIME FIGHT?!>

Vilkas: ...You could say that.

Klavazazel: <THEN LET'S CALL SOME ATTACKS! PENUMBRAL PYRE!>

-Klavazazel howls, and a wave of obscura ripples out towards Mycelium Spectre-

Ton: -glares at Duriel, then ignites the other end of her energy sword. screw generic names, it's a lightsaber too-

-she begins slashing wildly at Duriel. she probably has never taken formal fencing training, to be honest-

-BreBre is distracted by the direct attack on his Stand, and takes his attention off of trying to take out Secant-

Mycellium Spectre: ORA ORA ORA ORA! -begins punching the PENUMBRAL PYRE with-

BreBre: <CORONA FISTS!>

-meanwhile, a Dunsparce splashes out of the surf near Ever & cousins-

Revy: <Arr! The blood of a fighter runs through your veins! Are you going to let something as pedestrian as a little building-sized beastie put you down for the count?!>

Evangeline: <Polly thought it was a politics thing at first. But after the incident with the asteroid...>

-Duirel fights with slightly more finesse, but has limited motor control over his tail, and so things are about even-

-Klavazazel, meanwhile, barks at Mycelium Spectre-

Klavazazel: <Okay, okay, I'll give you that your weakness isn't obvious! Secant, I'll need some ice!>

Secant: <This sand needs to change!>

-and he uses an Ice Beam to freeze some of the beach-

Klavazazel: <Now for my...>

-he backflips, and crashes down on the ice with Foul Play-

Klavazazel: <RISING METEOR!>

-the ice flies into the air. Notably, it's highly refractive-

Ever: -opens an eye- Wuzzah...

-Maggie hears the XANAdos incident mentioned-

Maggie: "...Didn't think that would have been the thing responsible."

Hajime: -half to Tori, half to Tagg- "...Yeah, pretty much everything about this thing sounds like bad news."

Sholto: <So... are we going in this the try and appeal to its non-malicious route or the guns blazing route?>

-Gui puts up her human disguise again as Zeal tends to Todd and Noel's wounds.-

Zeal: You okay?

-Noel nods.-

Todd: <I've been better, of course. But I'll be fine, sir.>

Gui: I do have a question.

Zeal: Oh?

Gui: How did you get them to do that? Just attacking nothing randomly throughout the room like they were?

Zeal: Oh, that?

-He signals to Noel.-

That was Noel's doing. He hypnotized them, they thought I was there.

Gui: Oh, that makes sense. And what about the echoing voice? And the sudden dark green tint?

Todd: <On that note, why is everything still dark green? You and Noel did the setup, I'm still as clueless as her.>

Zeal: Oh, right! See, I used those things that open and close stuff that I got for my birthday! I set them up with these curtains I brought by every light source here.

Gui: When— Wait, you brought curtains here?

Zeal: Oh, I always carry curtains.

-He takes one of them down, folds it, and puts it back into his bag.-

You never know when you're going to stay somewhere without green curtains.

Gui: ...I don't think you're supposed to replace the curtains in that case and ohmygoodnessyou'vebeendoingthattheentiretimeI'vebeenwithyouhaven'tyou?

Zeal: Yep!

-Gui sighs.-

Gui: I don't know how I've never noticed that. Anyway, when did you set those up?

Zeal: Oh, I... well, I didn't actually leave the room. Noel hypnotized you, too, while I was doing that. Sorry...

Gui: No, that's fine, just...

Todd: <If you don't mind my interruption, I have another question, sir. How did you know to prepare for this in the first place?>

Zeal: There was this guy we saw back in Slateport.

Gui: The one dressed really strangely? Who told us to come here?

Zeal: Yeah, him! Well, last time I ran into him, he led me to the desert. Where I was attacked by that Scizor. I was more suspicious of him this time, and... well, it looks like he is working with Boatman.

-He nods to Gui.-

When you got that feeling again, my theory was pretty much confirmed, and I got to work setting up as soon as I was sure you'd be okay.

Todd: <...Huh.>

Gui: Huh indeed.

-She pauses.-

Well... I guess we've found the answer to that other question.

Zeal: Other question?

Gui: The one we came here for. I need to stick around, don't I? Or things like this will keep happening. It'll be fine, won't it?

Zeal: I'd love to have you around! Actually, I can't stand the thought of leaving you behind. But... this was a temporary thing, right? For your protection? That's why we've been stressing over this.

Gui: Clearly you're the one who needs protection, sillyhead!

-She grins.-

Zeal: Okay, that's fair.

-He grins back.-

Gui: We can go back to Southern Island before we leave Hoenn. I'll say goodbye to my family then. It shouldn't be a problem... I hope.

Evangeline: <I don't think it's just the Glitches. They seem to find our world anomalous, period. Time runs at inconsistent rates, dreams and reality crossover, our Gaim Rahm is unaccounted for, rap battles and unrehearsed musical numbers break out, anime is a thing that exists...>

<But yes, if the Glitches spread too much, we're worried that they will take... more drastic measures than a quarantine.>

If my word had any sway over what this team does, I'd detach a group to investigate the Route while everyone else splits up and goes directly to the shrines and hideouts of as many legendaries as possible to gain their favor. But I feel in the end what's going to happen is everyone's gonna drift from town to town along the usual gym challenge route because... Well because that's how it always goes with the group.

I'm not sure if we need to enlist the help of the legendaries just yet, but I feel we should definitely investigate the Cycling Road. As for what to do if you run into one, I'd be prepared to fight if necessary.
