-Joseph is very much aware that he doesn't want to turn around-

-he also knows, however, that if he doesn't turn around he's going to be staring at this giant wall for eternity-

-not that it's a bad wall, mind. It's inoffensive, as far as walls go. See, some walls can really make the "ominous slab of concrete in the middle of nowhere" thing work really well, that it just puts this big ball of dread in your gut. This wall doesn't have that, not really-it just looks like a giant highway divider, which could be kind of scary if you thought that a car would hit you but otherwise it's not intimidating. Something really steel and sleek would be really cool for something vaporwave-y and distant-future-apocalyptic shit, but that's not in the cards. A brick wall would be nice and rustic-homey, even. It would be like that giant brick wall from Peanuts, except humongous. The wall from Peanuts, if the kids from Peanuts were gods. Were they? If they looked down over that brick wall, would they see the yawning chasm of the cosmos, stars and galaxies like grains of sand?-

-the point is, he turns around-

Jacobscape

Jacob: "... Well this wasn't here before."

-He decides to trust his gut, and starts crab walking to the left while facing the wall-

"Now I just need some maracas and unfitting music and I'd be good to go."

The J-Scapes

Joseph is staring at Jacob. He may notice the lack of pants.

Jacob sidles along obliviously.

-Joseph notices Jacob, and then shortly notices his bereft-of-trousers state-

Joseph: !

-...-

...

-sidles in the same direction as Jacob, silently-

J-Scape

Jacob: -He feels the presence moving behind him, and shuffles faster-

"..."

".... Wait."

-He turns around-

"... Joseph?"

"..."

"DAMMIT I WANT PANTS."

J-scapes

???: Well sorry, big boy! You can't have em. Not my decision mind you, but pretty sure I'd get in trouble if I gave you some.

The tall stranger is sitting on Joseph's wall, kicking his legs back and forth.

Now that both party members are looking around, they may notice that they are trapped in what appears to be an infinite alleyway in the middle of nowhere.

J-Scapes

-Joseph huffs-

Joseph: And I was gonna go "boo" and startle you! Hmf.

-he turns around at the voice-

Joseph: Oh! Ooooh, who are you? I can already tell you seem like my kind of person~

Jscape

Jacob: -Looks at the stranger-

-Looks at Joseph-

-Looks at them both again- "Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only non-hostile non-eldritch sentient being here."

"... Granted, where is here?"

J-scapes

Stranger: Well, aren't you just precious! But, who said anything about not being eldritch?

He smiles ambiguously.

Stranger: Nah, just kiddin ya, I'm as human as can be! Anyways, do you mean where specifically? Or where generally? Either way, not gonna be easy to answer.

J-Scapes

Joseph: Wait, are you saying that I'm eldritch, Jacob?

-granted, due to his generally fair, spritelike appearance and the rather flowing, verdant robe he wears, it wouldn't be too hard to construe him as such-

Joseph: Anyway, who are you?~ I'm practicing dealing with strange things.

Jscape

Jacob: "Here, specifically. This isn't my mind, and I know that. Last time I was tied into... I don't even know. And the time before was... disturbing."

-Shakes his head at Joe- "Nah, I'm saying you're not. Which. Is a first for me in this wherever we are."

J-scapes

Stranger: Well, specifically, we are in the Infinite Alley of Regret or some emo thing like that. Honestly, the names - not that great.

He shrugs, then jumps down off the wall.

Stranger: As for me, my name isn't important. If you really need one, call me Stranger.

J-Scapes

-Joseph laughs a bit-

Joseph: Hello, Stranger! It seems so good to see you back again? How long has it been?~

-giggles-

Jscape

Jacob: "... What a welcoming name."

-He sighs- "Well. Okay."

-Joseph's general behavior helps him relax a little-

"... Well now what, do we do anything?"

J-scapes

Stranger: Well, we could sit around waiting...

Suddenly, from down the right side of the alley, there's an unholy screech.

Stranger: Or that. That could happen.

Sounds like something's approaching!

J-Scapes

-Joseph claps his hands over his ears-

Joseph: ACK!

-looks about-

What was that?

Jscape

Jacob: -Sighs- "Okay, more running. Yay."

-He twirls his staff and starts jogging left, grabbing Joseph's wrist to drag him along- "We're not going to stay around to find out."

Jscape

Stranger: Man, people who run this place sure love chase scenes. Ah well. TAH TAH BOYS!

The tall stranger jumps up and does an impossibly high backflip over the wall.

J-Scape

Joseph: Wait I thought we were fighting ACK!

-is grabbed, and starts to run alongside Jacob. Even taking into account the slower mobility of the robe, he's quite fast-

Jscape

Jacob: "One thing I've learned from my own mindscape, if there is a singular loud thing chasing after you, you run. You don't fight it. I wouldn't be surprised if we could fight this thing. I know we can't fight the one from my head, but I'd like to not push my luck."

-He picks up his pace and breaks into a sprint, letting go of Joseph-

-he hikes up his robe to get out of the way of his feet and runs, much faster than before-

Jscape

Jacob: ... Wait.

If this alley is endless... is there anywhere we can really run?

-He skids to a halt to face the thudster-

"Change of plans."

J-Scape

Joseph: See this is what I told you! Here.

-he presses his lips into his palm as there's a soft pink glow. Joseph blows it at Jacob, who breathes in a light pink powder-

Joseph: Get the feeling you'll need that.

J-scape

Dreamcaster: Sanity depleted by 30.
