Psyscape
Ulamog swipes at a crowd of people who scream before being struck with a sudden case of lack of existence.
The Charizard grins at Jacob. "Power emanates from the east. Rise, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth."
Jacob will be struck with an uncontrollable urge to look behind him, even though he knows that is a terrible idea.
"If I am to be met with disrespect, then I must first love myself with a fierceness no fool can take away." - Vraska, Gorgon assassinPsyscape
Jacob: -Sighs and looks behind him-
-Upon viewing the massive Regi-like creature, he freezes frowns and stiffens-
-Then he turns back and tries burning the Charizard-
"If there is no way to win, I will simply force a way."Psyscape
The Charizard blinks, not phased by the fire nearly as much as the nonchalance. "No existential terror? No rage against an illusory foe? You may be a stranger enigma than the titans... Farewell." He burns out of our plane of existence, not eager to be around to witness the fall of everything.
"If I am to be met with disrespect, then I must first love myself with a fierceness no fool can take away." - Vraska, Gorgon assassinMariascape
Maria: ._.
-Gulp-
-Draws her Rapier-
H...Hello...?
Runrunrunrunrunrunrun
-Shiver-
Daydrescape
Fair point.
You've stayed in one place too long.
Legs scuttle.
Time to go.
Mariascape
???: "And what are you doing in my jungle, little morsel? Come to die?"
A massive form shifts in the undergrowth.
???: Show me a good hunt, dreamling.
Time to go.
Psyscape
Jacob: "I've already faced the end of the world. I don't think much here can shock me."
"..." -He looks back up at Ulamog-
"... Well there is some way to stop you. I don't know if it's the titan behind me or if I myself can summon up enough power to somehow wipe you from existence, but there has to be a way."
"If there is no way to win, I will simply force a way."Psyscape
The Titan swipes down near Jacob, the Mantine vanishing under him. Jacob may feel his grip on reality becoming tenuous. Before he hits the ground, he wakes up.
"If I am to be met with disrespect, then I must first love myself with a fierceness no fool can take away." - Vraska, Gorgon assassinPsyscape
Jacob: "... Or-"
Bedroom - Somewhere
Jacob: -Sits up, with a dark look on his face- "... Not."
"..."
-He quietly and softly flops back down, snuggles closer to Hikari and tries to sleep again-
... I will need to do research later.
... That was very nightmarish.
... Can I really do anything? Is there a point? Have I changed anything?
-And he drifts back off to sleep-
"If there is no way to win, I will simply force a way."Mariascape
Maria:Oooooh fu-
-She cuts herself off by opening her dreamcaster and trying to Leave Dreamscape-
Home
-Iggy walks in...and begins to drool-
Toriel:<Do you smell that?>
-She smiles-
<Surprise! It is a butterscotch-cinnamon pie! I thought we might celebrate your arrival. I want you to have a nice time living here. So, I will hold off on...snail...pie...>
-She notices Iggy looking saddened at the prospect of living here.-
<Ah! Here, I have another surprise for you.>
-Iggy follows Toriel to the hall-
<This is it...>
-She takes her hand to lead her to a door-
<A room of your own. I hope you like it!>
-S He ruffles her hair a moment...then snifs-
<Is something burning...?>
-!-
<U-Uhm, make yourself at home!>
-She runs off-
-Iggy enters "her" room-
-Iggy decides to take a lie down in the bed.-
Ms Toriel seems...realy nice...
-She sighs-
Why...can't I wake up...I wanna see Papa again...I wanna see mama...I wanna see everyone...
-She nods off for a few moments-
-The smell of butterscotch and cinnamon rouses the smol girl. She sits up, rubbing her eyes.-
-There's a slice of pie near her bed-
-She takes it, and tries a nommle-
-It's...rather good-
-She finds Tories reading in the living room-
Toriel:<Up alreay, I see?>
-She smiles-
<Um, I want you to know how glad I am to have someone here. There are so many old books I want to share. Bug hunting spots to show...I've even begun preparing your education!>
-She chuckles-
<This may come as a surprise to you...but I've always wanted to be a teacher.>
-Beat-
<...Actually, perhaps that isnt very surprising.>
<STILL.>
<I am glad to have you living here.>
Iggy:Ms. Toriel...
Toriel:<Oh? What is it?>
Iggy:W...W...
-Her next words take the joy right out of Toriel's eyes.-
When...can I wake up...when can I go home...?
-Toriel frowns and closes her book.-
Toriel:<...I have to do something. Stay here.>
-She heads toward the basement-
Iggy:Ms. Toriel!
-S He follows after-
Daydrescape
The sound of scuttling legs snap her out of her thoughts.
Yeeaah naybe I should go
She tries selecting Leave Dreamscape.
off the shitsDaydrescape
Dreamcaster: Now leaving Dreamscape. Come again soon!
Mariascape
Dreamcaster: Error. Function not available in this area. Please exit dungeon and try again.
???: You'll have to do better than that, dreamling!
The shape is on the move.
Mariascape
Maria:...ck.
-Gulp-
Running now!
-She takes off, sheathing the blade in favor of taking hold to the musket-
Mariascape
???: HAHA! RUN! RUN! I am the hunt!
Trees snap in half as the lumbering shape begins to pick up speed.
Maria can hear other residents of the jungle fleeing alongside her, all terrified of the hunter.
Branches whip and scratch at her face as she scrambles down the path.
Mariascape
Maria:Ngh...agh!
-She tries to run faster-
Mariascape
The trees are beginning to thin.
Meanwhile, behind her, there is a massive roar, followed by a whistling noise like an incoming mortar shell.
CRASH
A tree trunk embeds itself in the ground, having been tossed like a spear.
Mariascape
Maria:AAAAGH! LEAVE ME ALONE!
-Keeeep running.-
Home, basement
Iggy:-running down the stairs-Wait!
Toriel:<You wish to know how to return "home," do you not?>
-Nods-
<Ahead of us lies the end of the RUINS. A one-way exit to the rest of the underground.>
-Iggy's eyes light up-
Iggy:Really?! Let' g-
Toriel:<...I am going to destroy it. No one will ever be able to leave again. Now be a good child and go upstairs.>
-She advances-
Iggy:Like I'd do that!
-She gives chase-
Toriel:<Every human that falls down here meets the same fate. I have seen it again and again...>
<They come>
<They leave>
<They die>
-She gives a pitying glance to Iggy-
<You naive child...if you leave the Ruins...>
-She continues to advance-
<They...>
<ASGORE...>
<Will kill you...>
<I am only protecting you, do you understand? ...go to your room.>
-Iggy keeps up-
<Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning.>
-When they stop, Toriel is stood facing a large door, with the same symbol she had on a cloth in her house. This one.-
Toriel:<...You want to leave so badly?>
-She scoffs-
<You are just like the others.>
-Her features harden-
<There is only one solution to this.>
<Prove yourself...Prove to me you are strong enough to survive!>
-She slowly begins to turn around-
-tik-
-tik-
-tik-
Iggy:No...
-Tiktik bweeooo-
-Her soul floats before her-
[REDACTED]?
-The cities are dead.-
-No human hands have touched them within the memories of generations.-
-The earth continues.-
This is the world I was cursed with, says the Golurk.
-He motions across the landscape - Pokemon, descendants of Man, try to live in the shell of that which was.-
I failed to fight the fallout, says the Golurk.
-A flight of dragons attempt to demand tribute from a camp.-
The hubris of the Scalekind brought an end to us, says the Golurk.
-The camp is forced to deliver all of their food. In the camp is an altar to their god of fertile earth and calm wind.-
-The altar remains silent.-
The gods did nothing as humanity was wiped from this dimension, save one, says the Golurk.
-He points to the Mountain.-
-There, the god of the volcano continues to weep.-
He tried to help, but he has not the power. He could not but weep at his impotence, says the Golurk.
-The Golurk looks with pleading eyes.-
For two hundred years I've watched the world continue without us, says the Golurk.
-His fists shake as he motions to the abodes of truth and ideals, to the tower of sky and the caves of earth and sea. He curses the highest mountain and the foggiest cave. He curses the tallest trees and the most desolate ground.-
This is the fickle nature of gods, says the Golurk.
-He once again points to the camp. Not a soul remains.-
-The altar to the god of fertile earth and calm winds remains silent.-
See now, and despair. Humanity has no place in the hearts of gods of Pokemon, says the Golurk.
[REDACTED]
-Cid's eyes snap open.-
-His shoulders ache and his back is stiff from falling asleep in his chair.-
-And yet, the sinking despair in his stomach, the theoretical confirmation to his deepest fears realized, was worse than all that.-
Cid: ... Hector. Get me the charts. We have a helmet to find.

Mariascape
The trees finally end, giving way to a beach. The water stretches out for miles, and it becomes clear that Maria is on a tiny island.
The only way forward is into the water. Luckily, it's only ankle deep for miles.
The way forward is unclear.
She may need to make a stand here.
Mariascape
Maria:Ngh...dammit!
-She backs slightly into the water, holding up the gun-
I-I'm warning you, I know how to use this!
Mariascape
The shape stops at the edge of the jungle, still in shadow.
???: Ah! A crude weapon indeed. There is little of the hunt in it. No matter.
He steps out of the shadows to show himself, part man, part beast, towering over Maria.
Garruk, Apex Predator: You meet your end here, dreamling.

Mariascape
Maria:W...We'll see about that!
-She fires at Garruk-
Mariascape
He's hit in the shoulder. The bearman grunts in slight pain.
Garruk: Hmph.
He raises his axe, then swings, a sharp and vicious attack.
Mariascape
-Maria draws the Rapier-
-Arcues rolls him d100-
-...80-
-Quite deftly, Maria deflects the axe back toward Garruk-

"I have been able to accomplish nothing on my own here."
"Is there a point to trying to intervene?"
"I mean I can't exactly burn this guy to death. I'd love to try though."
