Sounds good to me, let's do it.

-And so we start dismantling the shield core and taking it into the airship-

Verax: -Nods, goes and heals up Balthazar and then the three start helping out-

-Unbeknownst to any of the group, while disassembling the Avalon Defense System, part of it that had come loose in the battle, falls out and rolls into a corner of the darkened bay, to be lost to history-

-The fragment that is lost is not essential to understanding the workings of the machine, but as a part of the core, was necessary to get it working-

-After several back and forth trips, the entire core is moved over-

Verax: "Okay, I'll go see if Muton and I can't pry a Fusion Lance off. I think the bunker busters are better left destroyed."

Echo's Office — Past

Echo: I once thought I had the whole world to fight for. Now, though, it seems I can't do everything for everyone.

-The Beheeyem looks at Sylva.-

Grohl: <It has been a long time since I've met a Phione.>

Echo: And it may well be a long time before we see another. Cosmic Power.

-As Jiānhùrén's storm begins to die down, Grohl closes his eyes and glows slightly.-

-Nods in agreement-

I wonder how the guys on the ground are doing?

Avalon - Last Night

Verax: "They're probably holding up-"

"... They're expecting reinforcements from the helipad."

-Turns to Tagg- "Get the group you brought to take down this ship and go help them out, they'll hold up but they're probably being swarmed, and someone named Duck sent me a text saying we have a man down in there. I can take care of sinking this bird, you get down there and get them some support."

Echo's Office

Jacob: "Sylva, Rain Dance."

Sylva: -Waves to Grohl before spinning and causing it to start raining in the office space-

Jacob: "...." -Closes his eyes and twirls a checked king piece-

"..." -Sighs-

"Regardless of whether or not we know what it is we will fight for, what matters now is simply having the will to fight."

Avalon - Last Night

Tori: "Wow, that guy was crazy... Is everyone you guys fight that weird?"

Blitz: "Did you say 'man down'?"

-They've been watching and staying out of the way for a while, possibly the whole time. Maybe not-

Echo: Indeed. Even those of us destined for failure must not give up without giving it their all. And so I've chosen not to. Grohl, Skill Swap.

-Grohl's eyes glow as a very strange power switches Sylva's ability with his own.-

Avalon - Last Night

Verax: "Okay, get down there and help him. I'll tidy everything up here. Don't worry I'll leave it all on the airship and stay with it myself."

Echo's Office - Yesterday

Jacob: -Narrows his eyes- "Sylva, Safeguard."

Sylva: -Hums and sways a bit and a veil of energy rises up around her-

Aqua Resort - Today

Verax: "Almost feel guilty about hopping on the dinner thing. Ah well, he'll make it up in prize money later."

Jacob: -Has found a quiet out of the way spot, and is fencing with Regina-

Sylva: -Is speeding around somewhere here-

-For the sake of convenience, the Heidens have made their way here, rather than Tilt Village. Morgi is still likely with them. Lane might bump into one of the Thorne siblings, or anybody really, as his sister is with a Morgan.-

-He drops a bolt of lightning onto Sylva.-

-Sylva is struck and takes, quite a lot of damage-

Sylva: -Jiggles her mystic water before retaliating with a Surf-

Jacob: -Closes his eyes again- "What's the point of it all anyways, even if we stop Illusion, something new will just pop up."

"What's the point in fighting if at the end of the day you've done nothing."

-His face shudders- "... I have no desire to fight, I just... I can't... I don't..."

-Shakes his head- "Nevermind. I will persevere. I don't even have a choice in the matter. I cannot simply lie down and do nothing, I will continue to live and fight because there is nothing left for me to do. I have no future to protect, no ideals to defend, no loved ones or family or anyone to live for."

"And thus people like Illusion, Galactic, Flare, people like them will always find people like me. The never ending fight to end the fighting, I suppose."

-Shrugs- "Ignore me. I'm... I've been feeling unwell recently. A lot of my more inane rambly thoughts are spewing out my mouth."

-Grohl is struck, and takes slightly about a third of his HP in damage.-

Echo: What of the J-Team? Is there nobody worth fighting for among them?

-She nods to Grohl, who drops another bolt on Sylva.-

Jacob: "None that don't already have people fighting for them."

-He raises his arm and studies the back of his hand- "I poured my heart into many things, all of which are gone. I need more of me to put into anything else again."

-He pivots back to Echo with his arm outstretched-

-Sylva is hit by the Thunderbolt, and faints-

"I need not struggle to find a way to victory but-"

-And Discord is sent out, who's sandstream kicks up a sandstorm-

"-struggling to find a way to live, is an idea I despise. Even if one in every hundred humans finds a reason to live that they're passionate about, the very idea I could be alone or never find something that's mine disgusts me. As such there's no point in discussing that which I am and what I seek, if I am doomed t o wander without reason, I will never accept it, if I am fated to fight forever, I will simply laugh."

Discord: <Huh, you've kinda grown up since I hatched, huh?>

Jacob: "Maybe. Discord, Crunch!"

Discord: <CHOMPITY CHOMP CHOMP!> -Leaps at Grohl with a hungry bitey eagerness-
