Echo: Good, because I had no intention of giving it a meaning. It was merely a name chosen through misspelling and convenience. Jiànwǔ.

-As he does, the room gradually starts to feel even colder.-

Echo: It was nothing more than adding a few vowels to a common mistranscription of my real name. Upon leaving home, the world chose to give me a new identity on its own, so I accepted.

Jacob: -Narrows his eyes- "You let the world give you meaning."

"Titan had meaning built upon a hollow ideology."

-The combined attacks quickly down Reaper and X-

Zrone: "Nrgh.... okay that's enough! Comet, Leyusark!"

-Parries Locke's saber with his staff and hops away further than most human beings could ever manage, the bullet Smith shot lies deformed and mashed on the ground in front of him, a dent in Zrone's shoulder can be seen-

-From one of the darkened corners of the room several Thunders shoot out at Limna, Lepi, and Tagg-

-Meanwhile behind Tagg and Verax, Balthazar and Comet are clawing and biting each other-

Avalon, last night

-Detects out of the way, while Lepi and Limna use Protect-

That was a close one.

Amorpha: -Rushes at Leyusark with a fist covered in a clear dome-

Lepi: -Sends out a Bug Buzz-

Echo's Office — Past

Echo: Guāngqiáng.

-Jiānhùrén takes a significant amount of damage, but brings up a barrier to reduce further damage.-

Echo: I wouldn't know. I have yet to find a new purpose myself. I see many paths for me to take, but I don't know which to take. This is your predicament as well, correct?

Avalon - Last Night

Zrone: -Fires his laser eye at Tagg while scampering up some supports to a maintenance catwalk-

Leyusark: -Is hit and staggers- <Tch! Annoying brats...> -A spark of charged static discharges when punched by Amorpha, the Bug Buzz lowering his Special Defense-

<.....>

-Takes the chance to unleash a point-blank Dragon Pulse on Amorpha-

-Comet manages to kick Balthazar, leaps into the air and tries dive-bombing Lepi-

Echo's Office - Yesterday

Jacob: "I suppose it's similar. All my life my only purpose has been to be the best, which isn't enough. So at this point I see all the paths I can take, but I fight to find something worth fighting for."

-He snaps-

A risky gamble but...

-Regina's hand bursts into flames as she launches herself forward to punch Jiānhùrén-

Avalon, last night

-Deflects the laser beam with my Aura cutlass as I follow Zrone-

Zrone, get back here!

Amorpha: -Is paralyzed and loses half of her health- <Urk!>

-And uses Rest to heal as Limna jumps in and uses Flamethrower-

Lepi: -Manages to barely dodge the Dragon Rush and uses the opportunity to blow Stun Spores right in Comet's face-

Avalon - Last Night

Zrone: -Dashing to a platform on the side away from Tagg- "Just try and catch me...!"

-Leyusark vanishes into another darkened corner, burned by the Flamethrower-

-Limna might notice somewhere to the left a faint ambient red light-

Comet: -Shudders at the Stun Spores as she's paralyzed, and starts to rampage with frequent spasms-

-Meanwhile, Muton dashes over to Limna to assist, while Balthazar, nearly fainted, weakly flies towards Lepi to help fight Comet-

-Verax meanwhile is trying to sneak behind Zrone, climbing up a service ladder on the walkway behind the platform Zrone is heading too-

-Were it not for the ability to sense him or his aura, the shadows would have completely hidden him from Tagg-

-Zrone's red optic aid constricts slightly, glows green then fades back to red-

Avalon, last night

???: -From behind Leyusark- <You know, you're not the only thing that hides in the shadows.>

<Get him!>

Limna: -Notices the red light as she fires a Flamethrower- <Eh?>

Lepi: -Manages to easily dodge Comet's Outrage, and retaliates with Draining Kiss-

-Climbing up after Zrone-

One way or another, it's over!

Avalon - Last Night

-The red light actually turns out to be Leyusark's tail, and now not only is he burned, his new grass type crumples him to the ground as the Flamethrower takes him down-

-Comet also falls to the Draining Kiss and faints-

Zrone: "... Oh? I thought you'd have realized... I cannot be caught. Not ever."

-As Verax sneaks behind Zrone...-

Zrone: "AND I CANNOT BE HID FROM" -He whirls around, and lunges at Verax-

Verax: -Though caught off guard, he manages to avoid the initial lunge, pivots and kicks Zrone in the chest, only to be met with a loud clang!-

Zrone: -Back hands Verax across the face with his steel arm and grabs him while he's staggering-

"Fool." -And then starts burning a hole in his shoulder with his laser eye-

Avalon, last night

Verax!

-And Aura chains immediately erupt to restrain Zrone-

Avalon - Last Night

Zrone: -Is restrained and he struggles- "GNRGH......"

-Verax clatters to the ground, passed out from the pain-

"You... would protect that thing? All it's good for is killing and back stabbing! You know this! You only trusted him in a position where he'd betray someone, either you or them or both! He's tried to kill you! He has killed. Yet you protect him?"

"This is the bug that let you defeat them... you shelter him? Interpol is still hunting him down, think of the fat reward you'd get for giving this traitor what he deserves... Aside from the moral principal to begin with..."

-Struggles with Aura chains, and sounds of cracking can be heard as black oily fluid drips down the side of Zrone's face visible with the red light of his left eye-

Yes, he tried to murder me twice, and tried to murder my friends, but he's at least trying to make something good out of himself. And considering what I've done, it would be really hypocritical not to at least give him the chance to do some good for the world. Like what Sol, DS, Maggie, Crewe, Crow, and Ever did for me even after what I did. As for money, it doesn't interest me.

-Aura chains binding tighter-

And you have some nerve talking about his crimes when your plans with that staff would lead to something even worse than either of us have done Zrone.

Rachel: Happy birthday, big brother!

-Dune is hugged from multiple sides as his little sister, girlfriend, and Clefable all squish him.-

Selene: <Sorry I couldn't tell you earlier - Dezi said she wanted to keep it a surprise.>

Dune: Heh, well, that explains the fact that you two were constantly winking at each other yesterday.

Deziree: *Wink!*

Selene: *Wink!*

Dune: Now you're just messing with me.

Rachel: Uh, guys, the candles are kinda, you know, dripping wax onto the cake.

Selene: <Oh! Right! Quick, make a wish and blow out the candles!>

-Dune chuckles as he closes his eyes and thinks for a bit before taking a deep breath and blowing out all twenty four candles in one go. The room cheers as Selene removes the blown out candles and starts cutting the cake.-

Deziree: So, what was your wish?

Dune: You know it doesn't work if I tell you before it actually happens.

Deziree: Ooooh, fine, be that way.

-Selene starts handing out cake to the gathered attendees.-

Prof. Mesquite: Why, thank you, little Star Child.

Jeff the Guard: I love getting VIP escort duty, don't you, Max?

Max the Magmortar: ~I will admit that it does have its perks. Not having to subsist on take out, for one.~

Justy: Oh, hey, you're that Clefable from Dune's challenge. Keep working on that Double Edge, it might give you the "edge" you need! Ha! Ha! Oh man, I feel dirty for making that pun.

Aunt Liz: Thank you, dear. It's good to finally be in a non-court gathering for once.

Rachel: Cake! Cakecakecake omnomnomnomnomnom...

-After finishing her cake, Deziree fishes a box out of her bag and hands it to Dune. She's practically bouncing out of her skin.-

Deziree: Open it! C'mon, open it!

-Dune gives her a bemused smile and does so, pulling out old newspaper stuffing before revealing...-

Dune: ... I won't seem like an idiot for not knowing what this is, right?

Deziree: Oh, come on, silly, it's a grappling hook!

-She takes the device out to demonstrate. The device as a whole seems to cover her whole hand as the "grabber" rests on the end. Deziree presses a button and the grabber claw opens.-

Deziree: You just prime... Aim...

-She points at a support beam above her.-

Deziree: And fire!

-Deziree depresses the button completely and the claw shoots out, trailing a metal chain as it flies. It grips into the support beam and sticks.-

Deziree: And when you want to call back the chain, just let go of the button, and- EEEEEK!

-Deziree is yanked from her grounded position to dangling from the ceiling of Rachel's house, about a story or two up.-

Deziree: I didn't think this through.

Selene: *Sigh* <Dune, get Garuda, we'll get her down.>

-Professor Mesquite howls with her distinct old, grandmotherly laughter.-

Prof. Mesquite: Hohohohohoho! You really do know how to pick'em, don't you, Dune?

Avalon - Last Night

Zrone: "YOU ARE A FOOL!" -Doubles over then rears back and twists and turns as the sound of servos and grinding gears sound out from Zrone's body-

"YOU SERVE THEM, THE ONES WHO OPPRESS US! MAN WILL NEVER MOVE FORWARD SO LONG AS WE CANNOT MATCH THOSE WHO BROUGHT US INTO BEING! I.... I will perfect humanity, strengthen it, I will make the world one where we do not need to catch and subdue the creatures of this world to protect ourselves from them, my world will be one where all start out equal, regardless of species, race, upbringing, only the strength of one's will and the drive to succeed will determine anything!" -He glares at Tagg-

"And you can't do anything about it. You will fight me and you will stop me, but that is because you are weak. You are a servant to my enemy and it is their will you end me. But not yet, not yet because it is not yet time. The fruits of my research still exist, only when you can end me once and for all will they permit fate to guide you to me."

-The Aura chains start cracking with the strain Zrone is putting on them-

"AND WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO DECIDE IF THIS WILL END WORSE?! This egg... though not yet has it given rise to a living creature, it will, surely it has the right to live and choose for itself whether or not to do as I desire? What gives you the right to stop me?!"

-Unimpressed-

...No man or mon is an island Zrone. We need eachother to reach even greater heights. Mortals playing God? Absurd.

-And moves to toss Zrone aside-

And that's why I'll always stand in the way of people like you.

Avalon - Last Night

-As Tagg moves forward Zrone shatters his restraints and dives off the edge of the walkway, steel talons extending from his hand as he scrapes down a support beam-

Zrone: "Just as people like me will always be here to stand in your way, you fight to preserve a hollow, empty, worthless world!" -He dashes over to the far side of the area as he recalls all his mons and burns a hole through the wall-

"Have fun, Tagg. I'm sure we'll meet again." -Twirls the scepter as his area of influence fades out of existence and he jumps off the Avalon, falling down to the earth-

Avalon, last night

-Immediately drops to my knees the moment Zrone departs from exhaustion-

Damn it, he got away again.

Doc: -Coming behind me with my other mons- <Tagg, you okay?>

I'm fine Doc, go check on Verax.

Doc: -Nods and heads over-

Aaron: <So what do we do now?>

We try to find anything useful on this airship, and then it goes in the sea, I can't sense a single living thing on it that's not us and it's far too dangerous to allow Zrone to get it back.

Avalon - Last Night

Verax: -Moans and his eyes flicker- ".... I think there's a hole in my arm. Could we maybe fix that?"

-He rolls over so he's not on his side anymore-

"Did we win...?"

Muton: <Might want to see it we can move that shield core on to our airship, figure out how it works. Maybe a few of the weapons, too.>

Avalon, last night

-To Muton as I give Sue a Max Revive and heal the rest of my mons-

That would be a good idea, go and find it guys.

-To Verax as my mons disperse-

Zrone got away, but he's not going to be a problem again for a while.

Doc: -Focusing a Heal Pulse on Verax's wound- <That should work for now at least.>

Avalon - Last Night

Muton: <Uhh... You're... kind of, standing on the shield core.>

-Indeed, the maintenance walkways wrap around a large metal spire, with a dome like base, a large rectangular pylon, topped with a pyramid like metal construct with wires and tubes feeding out from it to the rest of the ship, with four large cylinders running up the corner of each side of the pylon itself and dome, presumably to power the massive device-

Verax: "Well... we'll deal with him when he next shows up. If there's one flaw of his, it's that everything he makes needs ungodly amounts of power to use. If he does crop up again, we'll see it coming."

-Sighs as his shoulder is healed and he stands up, then rolls his arm- "Well that was unpleasant. Let's bag what we can then get out."

-To Verax-

Hopefully we can make a far more efficient version for the airship.

-Looking at the shield core-

...Now how are we getting this out of here in one piece?

Echo's Office — Past

-Jiānhùrén is not quite KO'd by the Fire Punch, although he's noticeably close to collapsing.-

Echo: Perhaps you should start by finding someone to be the best for. A selfish purpose is always a flawed purpose, but a selfless one may not be. Jiànwǔ. Tiěwěi.

-After another, much more brief Swords Dance, Jiānhùrén slams Regina with an Iron Tail.-

Avalon - Last Night

Verax: "Yeah, hopefully."

-Looks over the core-

"... How did they get it into the ship in one piece? If you hollowed this thing out you could live in it!"

"Meh, probably built it piece by piece in here. We could try taking it apart and bringing it back piece by piece? Unless we carve out a hole half the height of the airship we're not moving it all out at once."

Echo's Office - Yesterday

-Regina take heavy damage from the Iron Tail, falling to nearly being knocked out herself-

Regina: <Nrg....>

Jacob: -Closes his eyes- "Solus in tenebris, invenio potentia. Psychic."

Regina: <....> -Nods then throws another Psychic at Jiānhùrén-

Jacob: "I have my team, it's my duty to them to be the best I can be, which is easily one of the best period, or else I'm failing them."

-Jiānhùrén is hit, and starts to fall.-

Echo: Jíshǐ nǐ diédǎo, diédǎole lìliàng.

-Jiānhùrén closes his eyes and lets himself collapse, using the momentum to shake the ground even as he blacks out.-

Echo: And yet you feel it is not enough. Surely there are others, not bound to you by the Vow?

Echo's Office - Yesterday

-Regina faints from the Earthquake and Jacob recalls her-

Jacob: ".... Not one."

"And you? Who do you have...?"

-Jacob sends out Sylva-
