He shook his head, holding the phone against his ear.

"No, no, you clearly aren't hearing me. I said tomorrow. You hear me?"

His employer shouted on the other end.

"Oh, yeah? Who else you gonna call? I'm the best in the business."

Alan laughed.

"A team? I'll have you know, organizations are a dying empire. Cipher, Flare, always the same. Bunch of damned psychopaths get too far in over their head, and it all comes crumbling down. It's a new era, pal: The Age of 'Lancers. This heist is happening on my terms."

He rolled his eyes.

"Dock my pay? Dock my fucking pay? No. No, you won't. You know why? Because I don't need that job that badly. I've got other potential bosses, some better than you. Tell me how you find a better potential employee, let alone in enough time. Now, I'm no mathematician, but I think it's clear who's got the upper hand here, and it sure ain't you, pal. So, you're getting your precious meds tomorrow, and I'm getting paid full price. Get the message?"

He smiled. "That's what I thought."

Even if a time machine was invented, and man discovered how to live forever, not a single thing would become more convenient.

...So that's another Illusion base down. We should be heading to Oblivia next, where their main and final base waits for it. Illusion will be at their most desperate with their backs to the wall, and therefore at their most dangerous. I don't know how far Echo's gotten with her mad egalitarian scheme, but it's imperative that we stop her as soon as possible.

-Looking to a second artifact piece next to my first-

Can't forget about that either, I don't know what Dialga's getting me to gather, but I can feel its power even while it's in pieces. Best that the others don't know about this, I can't risk someone blabbing in earshot of Illusion or Neo-Galactic about it.

Locke is standing next to Mirror, leaning on a rooftop, against a pole. He turns to Mirror, eyebrows raised."Got anything?"

Mirror did the Bronzong equivalent of shrugging."Nothing major seems to be going on right now, nothing that really seems to be needing our attention. And dude, haven't you been doing stuff like this way too much?"

Locke furrowed his brow."I need to make sure everything is safe.''"

Mirror just kinda flails for a bit. Locke turns his head, and sees Zappa dancing, his face goes into a smile as he quietly tries to drop down from the small roof."Where're you going, Locke?" Mirror questioned.

"To meet a friend." He creeps up behind Zappa, and then puts his arm around him, while putting a finger to his neck in a slitting motion."Finger to the neck means death, buddy."
