this is a good reference but this guy's gallery is pretty much a treasure trove for human figure refs in general.
Random things I have learned recently:
- If you don't want your drawings to look embarrassing in full view, display them at eye size. Hold the original up to your monitor and zoom out (in an image editing program) until the image on the page roughly matches, note the percentage you're zoomed in at, then resize the image to that percentage.
- When inking, never use hatching to denote colors, only shadows.
- Draw curvy objects as polygons first, then draw the curves around them. That way, it’s easier to plot them in perspective.
- For the halftone filter in Photoshop to be effective, the source image has to be between 1500 and 2000px in height or width.

- 0.03: Shading on faces from far away, or in "delicate areas" like eyes and noses in close-ups.
- 0.05: Outlining tiny details, and medium shading.
- 0.1: Outlining slightly larger details. Heavy, dark shading.
- 0.3 and 0.5: Outlining big and important things.
- 0.5+, or brush-tip: Outlines of body parts in extreme closeups, filling in black areas of a drawing, or thick "Grand Theft Auto concept art"-style lines.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIf it's an all-ink drawing, use hatching, but you'll want to use a 0.05, or whatever the thinnest pen you have is.
If you'll be coloring it in Photoshop or mixing it with any other form of media, like markers, paint, pencil, or ink wash, use that.
