Can't STAS Black Cat just show up, kick her ass and take her place? I think they've solved the copyright issues with FOX's X-Men 92 and SM Unlimited, so why not TAS?

I've read USM up to the Ultimate Carnage arc. Shame about Gwen, but it was pretty cool. I liked the fight with Carnage.

Althoooough I'm not a big fan of Connors screwing up again. Poor guy. I remember I once read this trade out of context, and thought Connors was a recurring character who helped patch up Spidey regularly. I hope he doesn't just disappear after this arc.

The Wolverine body swap was just terrible, though. Who thought that was a good idea? Only good thing was Peter pointing out how much the Ultimate X-men suck.

I thought the body-swap episode was a really funny one-off episode. The problem is, it happened right after Gwen died in the most Mood Whiplashey manner possible, and Gwen's death was mentioned maybe once more after that, so it feels like the writer was just having something wacky happen to make the reader forget how poorly handled Gwen's death was. And it doesn't help that it made Wolverine a euphenophile as the punchline to the whole thing...

The only thing I liked about the Body Swap was that it made the X-Men look like cunts, and it was pointed out that they're cunts.

Yeah, like the X-Men make a horrible case for not killing them all. 80 percent of all mutants are shitty.

My issue is that despite being called out on it, it doesn't go anywhere, and Wolverine didn't really suffer for it at all. Instead he had some mild embarrassment and tried to molest MJ which she thinks was Peter's doing.

So fucked up.

Nah the 616 ones are pretty awful too for the most part.

Granted, the most thorough exposure I've had with them was back in the Morrison run

but they were pretty much all jerks yes

Well, at least in good ol' Claremont run from the mid 70's into the early 90's, the only real jerk is Wolverine, at least as far as I'm concerned, and even he still has his Heart of Gold. And I don't really see them as jerks nowadays either.
