Covering up a magical girl murder

So, in my previous topic, I got a few suggestions on how normal humans could kill off magical girls. Now, however, I am having a few problems in applying them.

Specifically, I want to try and work out:

1) what should the team take into account when figuring out how to commit the deed without attracting the attention of other magical girls?

2) Once they have murdered their targets, how would they have to cover up the murder to avoid the possibility of other magical girls tracking them down?

Here's some useful info on the setting in it's current, still not completely defined incarnation:

The kill team is made up of about 5-6 people, operating independently. One of it's members is actually a Magical Girl infiltrate with the power over technology and computers, aiding the team with gadgets, hacking and gathering information. The others on the team are humans. Of them, the only one I have somewhat defined is Alyssa, a 20 something woman who’s very good academically, and who likes to have everything in her life under control. Her role in the group is that to investigate the magical girls, come up and oversee the plans to kill them, and possibly prepare and set up homemade explosives.

This team is up against a wide variety of magical girls, of different ages, power levels, and sexes. Most of their targets usually consists of lone wolfs or small teams of magical girls, usually operating independently, or with the aid of older mentors and active warriors, and don't share their knowledge outside their smaller groups.

Sometimes, their targets turn out to be part of one of the three main factions of magical girls. These are the ones the team has to look out carefully for, as all of them have a large number of magical girls (or leaders and monsters, in the case of the Infernals) under their organization, and have better ways to track them down.

Without having to copy-paste the description of each faction from my other post, here is some relevant info for each:

Celestials: They are the oldest and largest group of magical girls operating on the planet. They main families are often very rich, and have numerous contacts in the real world, as well as a couple of industries or other companies from which they get the money to support their magical girl operations. They have an entire section of their group dedicated to cleaning up the mess they sometimes make in the real world (including mind wiping). Their forces of Earth are mainly a reactive force, rarely going out to defeat their enemies at the point of origin (as usually, that gets taken care of by their most powerful warriors fighting the enemies spaceships near the outer planets of the solar system.), and only recently, due to increasingly sneaky and genre savvy enemies, and their Terran recruits, have they set up a force dedicated to hunting the enemy down before they can harm civilians. This group is also somewhat old-fashioned, as in they rarely combine their magic with recent technological advancements.

Infernals: A catch all term referring to all forces dedicated to conquering Earth or harming it's poulation. They are usually made up of small groups from different armies, who have somewhat managed to sneak through the front line in space and arrive on Earth. Except in a few rare cases of allied armies, each group can only count on it's leaders, it's forces, it's equipment, and the help of their Terran recruits, if they trust them enough for that.

Terrans: a catch-all term referring to mutants, elemental mages, were-creatures, and other forces not aligned to the above two factions, instead forming alliances between like-minded individuals or teams. This relatively young group doesn't have an extensive contacts within the real world, or the Celestial's resources, but it can count on the more technologically aligned mages and information sharing through various means. These forces are much more proactive than their Celestial counterparts, using tactics such as guerrilla warfare, research and assassination to defeat their enemies before they can harm civilians.

Hope that's enough information to help answer my question, but if there is any other detail that you would like me to elaborate on, then feel free to ask!

Okay, so I don't have an actual solution to your question, but I am loving your concept and idea.

Why must it be covered up? Why not go for the Shock and Awe approach?

[up] The group does indeed use Shock and Awe tactics against it's targets.

The problem arises in the fact that they are a bunch of humans operating independently, with few resources, virtually no protection from bigger groups, and not much information on the extent of the faction's organizations, so they are only limited to staging attacks on the smaller group. And since the other factions have a lot of resources and even some good investigators that could track down the team, it's in the team's best interest to keep a low profile, or at the very least, make the magical girls believe that they are something other than a bunch of humans using guns, stage effects, and explosives. What I am asking in this topic is how would they be able to achieve it.

Mind you, not all of the team knows the truth surrounding it. They don't know, for example, that they have a magical girl infiltrator, using her magic and other things to mask the team's activities as best as she can. Fewer still know that some of the members of the group have a secret agreement with a member of the Celestials, who provides protection from the various factions (including it's own, where possible) in exchange for the elimination of specific targets. And these people definitely don't want the rest of the group to know, especially not Alyssa, who would not approve of this arrangement (and by not approve, I mean that she would hunt them down and kill them for selling themselves to the enemy.). So they do try to behave like they are doing the best they could to hide from the magical girls, so as to not arise the group's, and Alyssa's, suspicion.

Make it look like an accident.

The fewer people you have working on it the better. Set traps for the magic girls, simple but with heavy explosives. Maybe it's a proximity trigger, remote control, or more sophisticated (wouldn't want to blow up civilians).

Once the trap closes, clean up the suspicious debris but leave the rest. The others will see it as an accident. You can't have them all the same, and you can't have too many, that would be suspicious.

A twist on that—come up with some junk science that the girls's powers can overload and lead to spontaneous combustion. Not only can you take out as many of them as you can get to, you make them afraid to use their own powers.

Under World. It rocks!

Cyanide dart and a quick grab on the body, both in a fairly secluded place?

@Seekoutguy: Well...that's rather interesting. Two necro's, both on threads I started. How did you manage to find them both, I wonder?
