I have this idea for a fanfic for Haruhi Suzumiya about a character who literally gets sucked into one of the light novels while reading them.
The story is narrated from his own point of view, of course. He seems to be quite perplexed by suddenly appearing in a fictional setting, and though he takes it rather well at first, he gradually begins to realize that being stuck in a universe that is quite often in danger of being remade is not a good thing.
As he grows more and more tired of being involved in Haruhi's shenanigans, his intense dislike for her eventually evolves into outright hatred, to the point where he explicitly states that he would kill Haruhi if it weren't for the possibility that it could end the universe. His frustration and anguish over his situation should ideally lead to some unreliable narration, of course.
Problem is, I'm not a very good writer. I don't exactly know how the character interactions would work, and I'm a bit skeptical that I can pull off the whole first-person narration thing.
