It could come to nothing, but I think I might have a connection between Saltair and Safety Last:

Key scenes of the horror cult film released in 1962, Carnival of Souls, were shot in Saltair.

In 1962, the "dangling from the skyscraper" scene was included in Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy, a compilation film produced by Harold Lloyd himself.
