I'm not sure if I'm a hipster or just a giant nerd and/or weeaboo *. I suspect that I might not qualify for hipsterdom on the basis that the most effort I put into my musical library is occasionally searching around youtube and going "Shit, that sounds kinda cool. TO 4SHARED!", my clothing choices are decided entirely by the weather and whatever's not in the wash *. Also, I like it turns out other people are into the same, dumb nerd-stuff I'm into ("OMG, You whore over Brandon Sanderson and Blue Beetle too? LET'S GET MARRIED!"), or if said nerd-shit catches the public eye (WHERE IS MY BIG-BUDGET LOVECRAFT MOVIE, DAMMIT!), which I'm pretty sure is a cardinal sin for hipsters.
On the other hand, I live in Hipster Mecca and love it, go to a hipster college (with added hipster irony of originally starting off as a stodgy Presbyterian school), introduce myself to others as either a bisexual feminist apatheist democratic socialist * or an "overprivileged upper-middle class white girl" *, am inexplicably attracted to skinny effeminate guys, and drink microbrewed rootbeer (because PBR is simply not hipsterish enough *). I'm thinking I'm maybe half-hipster, or something.
Can hipsters still play D&D and Call Of Cthulhu, or are those too mainstream?

Lewis & Clark College, eh?
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardHow come you never post in "Pacific NW Tropers Unite"? We keep having outings several miles north or east of there.
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardI'm not particularly good at posting on relatively broad threads (or many of the troper coven threads, for that matter). That, and I have a few things going on that make me a bit reluctant to participate in internet meetups.
Ah, I'm sad to hear that. We always have great fun getting together to eat, playing Magic or pirate mini golf or seeing a movie.
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardI actually visited Lewis and Clark in the mid 90s, I had some friends there — I doubt any of them live anywhere near anymore, though!
A brighter future for a darker age.Despite my dislike of hipsters it seems that I have become one.
Or they have become me, rather. With my taste for cheesy pop and complex post-math-prog-hardcore-rock.
Between the seasons we find roomI just shut off Scott Pilgrim after a mere twelve minutes because I hated the main character, does this disqualify me for being a hipster?

Actually, I think that makes you a bigger hipster. I dunno. It kinda gets meta if you think too hard about it.
That's okay: all hipsters hate hipsters.
Except for me, because hating hipsters is so mainstream, y'know. *

What needs to be stated is the difference between US hipsters and UK hipsters.
US hipsters are not only badly dressed dipshits, but also act like them.
UK hipsters are up themselves dipshits, but not quite the badly dressed dipshits. Meaning a lot of them look just like the rest of us, but really they are dickheads

Do Anamanaguchi fans have a place here?
Yes, they are associated with Scott Pilgrim.
Between the seasons we find roomMan, I liked Anamanaguchi before anybody ever gave a fuck about Scott Pilgrim.
Yay!
So did I, Anamanaguchi has always been awesome, but I practically fainted when I found out they did the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim.
I didn't know until literally right now.
They did it for the game.
For the film Beck did the music played by Sex Bob-omb, I can't remember who did the music for the other band.
My god, I really am such a hipster. Actually, I'm not because I don't care if anything if mainstream or not.
Between the seasons we find roomI listen to music because it's music, my tastes just happen to not be very mainstream.
That's what they all say.
A brighter future for a darker age.Aren't hipsters generally supposed to think that all mainstream music is crap, because you can only become mainstream by selling out or some crap?
I have a plaid shirt in my closet that I don't wear much, I wear slightly weird glasses and my music taste is questionable. I have trouble with socializing, though. Nevertheless, I do identify myself as a hipster jokingly, since if you deny being one you are one.
