So, I'm thinking of using a character who's about 6'4" tall. I've so far established that the top of my doorframe is higher than that, but that she wouldn't be able to sleep in a bed of the length I'm currently using. I'm guessing she'd also have difficulties in a movie theater or at a restaurant, but I'm not actually sure of that. What other problems might she encounter? (She's a healthy weight for her size, and she has a bit of muscle from trips to the gym. She's a security guard, so she probably makes about $30,000 a year. I don't think she's big enough to have any expensive health problems relating to size.)

For one thing, said character would be able to ride all the rides at Disney Land! XD

Oh, difficulties. Right, uh, she'd have trouble finding a man who can sweep her off her feet.

Difficulties in getting clothes that fit? Like maybe anything she buys that fits her length-wise is very wrong for her chest and hip circumference and vice versa. Most clothing these days isn't made with extremes in mind.

She would probably have big feet. One guy I knew had feet so big, if he went up just one shoe size, the government would pay for his shoes.

First of all I object that 6'4''(193cm) is very tall it isn't even above 2meters. But speaking from experience as a man around that height as long as you keep out of small cars and the london underground you won't have much trouble. Also I fit and sleep comforably in a normal bed. While you might want to keep an eye out for low hanging things that is pretty much instinctive. The only real problem seems to be womens clothing but I know there are specialty shops for that, although price and fashion might be different. Well there might also be some social problems if tall women are rare  X

.

Also normal height seats w/o leg room is hell

@SJ While I don't know about Disney land some attractions/stuff are actually limited be maximum height  X

People that tall tend to have back problems. My boss is about 6'6" & gets chiropractic regularly. Choice of clothing is limited & fit is typically poor.

Bad jokes. "How's the weather up there? Yuk yuk." Everyone you meet is a Captain Obvious. "Wow, you're really tall!" For a girl, dating is a hassle— lots of guys don't want to date a girl taller than them, and if they do there's always an awkwardness. Clothes don't fit— you have to shop in big and tall stores. People complain when you sit in the front of the class or at the theatre. Bumping knees off desks/tables.

Thanks for the all fish!

[up]Seconding the bad jokes. I imagine that people would constantly be asking her if she plays basketball.

Depends on the setting. Clothing designed for women will probably run short at the sleeves; it's not TOO hard to find pants in tall sizes (although they're rarely on sale), but I've yet to see shirts designed for tall women.

Cute shoes are hard to find, and IF you manage to find an adorable pair of heels, you get funny looks when you wear them.

Also? Chandeliers (the little ones, like over a breakfast nook) and more fun still - CEILING FANS.
