In general, we talk about the Touhou spin-off games in the "Touhou games" thread, but I suppose this is okay if enough people want to talk about it.

While I like the idea, and the music is pretty awesome especially since they're not remixes as far as I can tell, the gameplay isn't really designed to deal with danmaku. I beat most of the bosses just by overpowering them with my double lifebars. It needs a slide ability.

Dagnabbit, I always get the title confused with Mega Man, or even Mega Maid sometimes.

I'm pretty sure that's the point. Although the font doesn't make it any easier.

Well if you squint, I guess Marisa could look like a Mega Maid.

I suck at this game, much like how I suck at Touhou games in general.

It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.

I always thought the Mega Man X control scheme would be more fitting for platforming bullet-hell. This game is still pretty cool, though.

I... would not recommend that. While Eirin is weak against Cirno's weapon, her stage is another story. Eirin's stage was pretty difficult for me, and I seriously can't imagine doing it without spamming special weapons.

I played this game a bit, even beat a couple bosses. I think it was Cirno (of course), Reimu, and Sakuya.

If you like following weakness chains, I suggest you start with someone else.

...Aww. I was expecting a Mega Man / Mario mashup game in the vein of Somari.

I managed to beat Cirno easily. but is it because of what Clarste said about Eirin's stage? or what?

Well, if you can beat it you can beat it. I certainly appreciated having more firepower there though. I'd call it the hardest of the first 8 stages by a reasonable margin. Cirno being first isn't unusual though.

I've not played this game, and I probably shouldn't. I'm terrible at platformers, and they tend to infuriate me. One or the other is fine, but both at once makes for a thoroughly unenjoyable experience.

I remember that Mega Man was A LOT easier if you memorized the levels but it took a couple playthroughs. Does that apply to this? with THESE types of enemies?

It did for me. I found that most of the dangers in, for example, Eirin's stage was from instant death surprises.

...except for ithe last section that had infinitely spawning earth rabbits riding mecha in a long hall filled with Bottomless Pits. I eventually got frustrated the first time I encountered it and just used Marisa's broom to fly over it. <<;
