Is it an adaptation of:

A manga? Yes

A video game? No

Summary:

Round 239: Even when guessing anime themes, FOE!

Hint: I like Rain after sunset.

The anime:

  • Is longer than one cour
  • Does not have a second season
  • Started airing in 2007.
  • Is adapted from a manga
  • Aired after 2005
  • Did not air on an even year
  • Did not start to air in 2009
  • Did not start to air in 2011
  • Is an adaptation
  • Is not an adaptation of a video game

The song:

  • Is not the OP
  • Does not mention rain.
  • Is not "Stray".
  • Is not "Tell Me What the Rain Knows"
  • Is not "Gravity"
  • Is not "Tooi Sakebi"
  • Is not "Yuudachi"

The theme song animation:

  • Has rain in it, but only in a variation that was used for one episode. The version which uses it in the animation is the only I can find on Youtube.

By the way, how do you get strikethroughs? I know you can only use it in the forums, but there's nothing in the markup help about what syntax you have to use to get it. Yeah, I'm pretty new to these forums, if you can't tell already.

Is it a Slice of Life anime? No.

Did it air on the spring season? Yes

summer season? No

does it have 24 or 25 episodes? Yes. I'm counting that as one question, by the way, as it is your third and you only have a maximum of three questions per round.

This Night?

We have a winner!

In case you were wondering, the hint, "I like Rain after sunset." referred to two things. First, the eagle-eyed may have noticed that "Rain" was capitalized. This was intentional. The rodent thing that features heavily in the ED was named Rain, so it was used as a proper noun in this case. The second hint is that "after sunset" = night, referring to the title of the song, ''This Night.''

Summary, including answers to the questions that were left unanswered during the actual round:

Round 239: Even when guessing anime themes, FOE!

Hint: I like Rain after sunset.

The anime:

  • Is longer than one cour
  • Does not have a second season
  • Started airing in 2007.
  • Is adapted from a manga
  • Aired after 2005
  • Did not air on an even year
  • Did not air in 2008
  • Did not start to air in 2009
  • Did not start to air in 2011
  • Is an adaptation
  • Is not an adaptation of a video game
  • Has fewer than 26 episodes
  • Is not Slice of Life
  • Started to air during the Spring season
  • Did not Start to air in the Summer season
  • Has 24 or 25 episodes
  • Has more than one ED theme
  • Is not a mecha anime
  • Is not a fantasy anime
  • Does not have supernatural elements
  • Does not have aliens, but saying it did would qualify as a Half-Truth.
  • Does not have time travelers
  • Has espers
  • Is not Lucky Star

The song:

  • Is This Night
  • Is not the OP
  • Does not mention rain.
  • Is not "Stray".
  • Is not "Tell Me What the Rain Knows"
  • Is not "Gravity"
  • Is not "Tooi Sakebi"
  • Is not "Yuudachi"
  • Is not "Love Is"

Hint: Surprisingly, we haven't used this Big one yet. Guess we should give it a fighting chance.
