There is, or was, a site called the100.io that I used to find a raid group. Still only ever did Vault of Glass though.
It still boggles my mind that there was no looking for group feature in the game, or that they didn't add one. For a game so heavily built on multiplayer to have so few ways to connect with other players is inexcusable to my mind.
Your best bet is probably destinylfg.net .
I did the Prison of Elders to see what that was all about. Got a couple of legendary items and an exotic hand cannon. A level 20 hand cannon, outclassed completely by my current gear. Can you get better stuff from the Prison? I should probably disassemble it for an exotic shard, right? Probably should do the same with my Armamentarium too, unless I can upgrade it somehow.
You have to go higher up in levels to get better gear, which also requires you to have a fireteam.
Higher levels in the Prison of Elders, you mean? I saw that there were those other higher level encounters unlocked by finishing it, do you need a premade team for those? I didn't think to look at the time.
I'm kind of unclear on how to get better gear in general, really. It seems that the most reliable way to get legendary marks is the daily and weekly playlists, but they're like 380 Light anyway, so you'd have to have almost max gear to be able to do them at all (I'm currently about 240 with my Titan).
I did mean to ask as well, pre-level 40 you get loot drops that are roughly appropriate to your level, is it the same post-40? Do you get gear drops based on your Light level?
Yes you do. Once you hit 40 almost everything then begins to scale off your light level to a point.
Blue engrams will decrypt up to 385 light. Purple up to 390. Heroic strikes will drop gear up to 390. Presents from factions will be up to 400. Raid gear will be 400 once the 390 versions are fully introduced.
Oh really when?Right, so just a case of grinding it out and trying to get Marks from other sources (I believe the random world events drop them). Gotcha.
And remember this neat little trick: the level of the loot drops are determined by your current Light level. Thus, make sure that you have gear with the highest Light values equipped when decoding engrams in order to ensure that the items given will try to either match or surpass your gear.
Cayde's got the right idea. If you can't make us angry, promise us loot XD
But jeez, no wonder we can't import any gear, we literally lost all our stuff XD I'm guessing the story mode will be a war with the Cabal to take the City back?
And I wonder who Ghaul is...I doubt he's the Cabal's Emperor, maybe he's just an extremely powerful general?

So, is it still just a sunset, Librarian? ;)

Okay, so I get that the Cabal broke all our swag, but where's the justification for forgetting our subclass masteries?
The Cabal found a way to strip us of the Light.
New Subclasses we heard before.
Our Guardians got killed and we're playing brand new Guardians?
I liked the humourous tone of the teaser, and how Cayde-6 is behaving in the story I'm playing at the moment, but I'm not sure I want it as the overall tone of the game, if they carry on as in the trailer. I'm not sure I like how close he seems to be to medium awareness either. Maybe it's not representative of the final product though, and maybe it'll grow on me.
Can't say I like how I was prompted to preorder almost as soon as I logged in to Destiny today either, or that they're already offering a season pass (included in the deluxe edition) for the first two expansions either. Not that I really expected any different, it's just a little discouraging. I still hope the main story is significantly beefier in the base game, either way.
Guardians transfer over. you'll be playing as your d1 character
Things are usually rather humorous when Cayde gets involved.
And loot is actually pretty much the canon explanation for how the Vanguard gets Guardians to do things that need doing. Offer swag for doing various shit what needs doing, and also for fighting each other in places they need to keep Guardians stationed in.
I feel like this trailer was directed specifically as a bit of a Take That, Us in regards to how d1's story and tone were presented (overly dramatic and serious) and this trailer is far more in touch with how the player base has evolved since then.
Case in point, the Speaker is nowhere to be seen, and he was more of less the face of vanilla/year 1 Destiny. Maybe he's dead?

Got a feeling the VA died or something, cause he's virtually untouched beyond the base game - he doesn't even appear for the Dark Below.
Didn't Bill Nighy voice him? He's not even really there except for story cutscenes. He probably escaped but is somewhere safe, further away from the city than either in its ruins (like Cayde and his group) or just outside the walls (like Zavala's group). He's probably with the other civilians.

He has some new lines after the Age of Triumph update. Has a nice little speech for you in the beginning.
Oh really when?Where's Xur this week?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117
I got really bored of this game that I haven't played in a long-ass while & I didn't even buy the final expansion.
Sad I never found a team to help me play a raid though.
Hopefully this is better with the grimoire in the actual fucking game for one.
