That's a personal thing.
Some people will just sign off with a 'Signing off'.
Some people will sign off with their name- 'And that's all for today- Cygan'
Some people will sign off with the date- eg. '11th January, 2011'.
There is no given way to sign them off.

yeah the problem is I have to make abit of clerity as to who is writing the entry without revealing his name and the story takes place sometime before the fith century.

What about a title (whether self assigned or not) Lord X, Lord of X, The Prince, or something of that nature.

Is the Journal meant to be read by others or is it just a personal one? Becuase that could change how one "signs off". Personally if it was a personal journal I would only write a date but non name but other wise my name adjusted to circumstances(like full name or just the first etc)
