Zee knelt down by the bloody smear and took a sniff, inhaling the scent of the blood. "Hmm...the blood is dry, but I have its scent; if we're lucky, we might be able to trace the victim's trail back to whoever may have eaten it."
Elsewhere, a single creeping thought tendril eased its way through the flaw in the imaculate matrices of its crystalline prison, oozing outward and into the air like the tongue of some reptile tasting the air currents.
Someone was nearby; someone the dark force did not recognize, just outside the door, moving down...a hallway? Yes, a hallway...not guarding the daemon's prison, simply walking past. Interesting...
The tendril creeped out and brushed against the door, causing it to rattle faintly on its hinges for but a moment. In the mind of whoever was outside, a faint whisper, so soft and quiet that it could easily be mistaken for a figment of their imagination, called out.
"Help me..."
The Danse Macabre Codex— Following sign after sign pointing the three, Corollianus arrived at a set of double doors, sliding his key-card into the slot. The doors opened, and there it was, a large track of volcanic stone, going off into the distance in two directions; to the left was a large motor pool, the doors closed at the moment. —
—Brother Martin knew this to be true. He was still having trouble accepting this himself. —
I... suppose you'll manage.
Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish?Trogg goes to the left door and tries to open it.
Arcturus thinks for a bit, then remembered. He had very briefly interacted with them after the war, when they were running around trying to keep tabs on everyone. Those had been interesting days.
"...Yeah, I remember. We should go talk to them, but if that scent can get us anywhere I'd like to check that out first. Kisume and Yamame won't dissappear on us, unless I have sorely misjudged the gravity of the situation. Zee, do you have a direction?"

When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout. The Living Saint rose, turning down towards the base of the mountain. "It definitely leads toward the forest, from what I can tell; beyond that, we'll have to actually follow it if we want more answers."
The Danse Macabre Codex—The door opens, and lights click on inside; in front, set in a row with an intersection to allow the passage of other vehicles, are the Salamanders, 15 in number, spit-polished. Behind them are ten of the Chimera APC's, also polished, and armed with heavy stubbers alongside the lascannons; behind those lay the six great armoured beasts that are the Leman Russes, their tracks still possessing a layer of volcanic ash, but otherwise are well maintained; finally, in the back, lies a solitary Baneblade, a thin layer of dust covering the otherwise perfectly functional war machine. —

"Holy... I'd heard about the stuff we'd used in the war, but to see it 'in the flesh'..." said Drake, completely awestruck at the sight of the mighty and majestic machinery.
Locking you up on radar since '09— The stormtrooper walks over to the fifteenth Salamander, checking the alignment of the pintel-mounted bolter. —
-"This is only the stuff I have the clearance to even show you, let alone drive around in. The REAL big guns are on a lower level."-
— He gestures over at the driver's seat, looking at Drake. —
-"Unless you want more power, less speed, and more armour?"-

Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish? He nods. He didn't mention how odd it was that the Tengu hadn't noticed this, but they could at least see where this trail led.
"Good. Difficult terrain, with all this vegetation. Overflights won't net us anything good, we'll have to go on foot. Activating thermal. I don't want any surprises."
A small twitch of energy from his mind, and the thermal function in his eye clicks into activity.
"Let's try not to spend all night in this forest, shall we? Spread out, but keep covering each other, and stay on your toes. If we find any suspect, expect resistance. Zee, you're on point. Lead the way."
When in deadly danger, When beset by doubt, Run in little circles, Wave your arms and shout....you're right, Brother. My duty is to serve Gensokyo and the Empire. Whether I do that here or elsewhere does not matter. Thank you.
After he was finished gawking, Trogg said something.
"Trogg think he can beat shiny spaceships with punch alone."
Drake continued to stare at the tank, but eventually his gaze wandered over to one of the Leman Russes. "Hey... why don't we try that one?"
Not waiting for a response, he made his way over to it and started to clamber up the side, pausing to give the hull an affectionate pat. "Where've you been all my life?" he said in a joking tone. Continuing onto the turret, he almost revenantly opened the hatch, and clambered inside.

-Leona liked the vehicle storage area. It was quiet, to the point where no-one noticed the tank moving around of it's own accord. She could sit in here, fiddling with her machines, away from the world. As of now, she'd parked herself, and her projected image was sitting inside, twiddling her thumbs.-
-Then something rapped on her hull. How rude. She had picked herself up and was about to climb up the ladder and out the hatch to see what the disturbance was when she felt someone yank open her hatch with little to no care. When she saw the young guardsmen clambering down the ladder like he owned the place, her blood nearly boiled. Well, some of her engine coolant did, at least.-
-Drake had little time to comprehend the fact a tall woman wearing a battered helmet and camouflage armour over a tank operator's uniform was approaching him, eyes filled with anger, came striding towards him and laid an uppercut into his jaw-

His legs then decided to buckle underneath him, the unfortunate soldier dropping to the hard floor like a puppet with its' strings cut. His head and body was protected from serious harm by the hard armour, but it didn't prevent streams of pain running up him, clouding Drake's mind in a haze. He clumsily scrambled for his Hotshot lasgun, but the agony dulled his senses (among other things), reducing the man to clawing fruitlessly at the armour plated deck.

Locking you up on radar since '09-Leona knelt down beside the frantic guardsman, grabbing his collar with both hands and jerking his head upwards, forcing him to look at her face. Her hair was a mixture of the camouflage colours painted on the tank's hull and her eyes were piercing, metallic grey-
"What do you think you're doing?"
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff.Drake immediately forgot about procuring a weapon, a cocktail of horror and confusion flashing across his face before finally settling on dejected resignment to his fate.
"Who... who... who a-are you?" His breathing was quick and shallow, his arms flopping to his sides as he briefly considered trying to wriggle out of her grip.
Locking you up on radar since '09A low rumble came from the roof of the garage for but a moment, and then it was gone.
Zee nodded, and moved to take point. The Living Saint began to follow the trail, moving as carefully as was necessary while at the same time trying to search as quickly as was possible given the circumstances; the blood trail was old, and if they didn't act fast she might lose it altogether.
The dark force sealed within the crystal would have frowned, had it possessed eyebrows. No response; perhaps if it tried a bit harder... The Danse Macabre Codex
—From outside, there was the series of thuds made by boots, a clank of metal, and finally, the hiss and hum of a hellgun set to medium; Corollianus had the barrel aimed for the center of the offender's helmet.—
-"Stand down, guardsman."-
Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish?Trogg overhears the chaos. He runs to the Lemann-Russ shouting "WHO AM BEING MEAN TO DRAKEY?!"
-Leona turned to see Corollianus, then quickly growled a response to Drake-
"Leona Manako Rusaro."
-She pulled herself up, and with a strength that surpassed anything you could expect from someone of her physique, hauled Drake up by his collar, putting him between her and the hellgun-
"Now spill your guts, before I spill them for you. What are you doing here?"
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The dark force reached out again with its questing tendrils of thought and emotion, exerting a greater amount of force than it had a moment ago.
The ceiling of the garage rumbled again, louder and for a bit longer this time; a small spray of dust tumbled down onto the Leman Russ. The Danse Macabre Codex
Trogg followed the two.
