I am very interested in playing Donkey Kong Country 2 with you!
...though, I have no idea how to use Hamachi with ZSNES or the like. It's been over a year since I used it for Touhou fighters.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]Ah, Ukonkivi, I expected you to show up
I can guide you through the Hamachi part, not that big of a deal, even I could config it, whichshows how simple is it, since I'm not that versed in network stuff.
DKC 2 is also my fave of the 3 games, so yes, that would be great to play it through with you! Do you have Steam? It's likely that I will not be available on the first week of January, since I'm spending my time with my girlfriend, but after that, you can contact me there and we can discuss the details. My Steam ID is Sati1984.
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsThat I don't, but I suppose I should soon in order to buy Recettear like I've been wanting to.
I suppose I'll spend that week making youtube videos, then.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]What's your channel?
Alternatively, if you don't have Steam by the time I come back, you can reach me via Google talk too. Mail address sent in PM.
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsDue to unexpected schedule modifications, I will be available tonight and tomorrow night.
Look for me on Steam, or send me a mail and I'll make myself online on G-talk. My timezone is GMT+1. I will be online from around 7PM or 8 PM.
Or you can always suggest some alternate way to reach me here. I will watch this thread too.
Other tropers are still welcome to play, if interested!
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsSeiken Densetsu 3 is a blast in online co-op, being essentially Diablo 2 for the SNES. Just make sure your connection is stable, it IS a Square game after all =)
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.I don't like Diablo 2, but if it's co-op, I will give it a shot. Do you want to play it with me?
Also, if anyone is interested, I'm up to play through The Lost Vikings with someone too. It's one of my all time fave games and it has a co-op mode!
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsI watched a bit of a gameplay on You Tube, and it might be interesting to play it through with someone who is familiar with it while constantly in voice chat. Count me interested!
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsSo the updated list of co-op games looks like this:
- Donkey Kong Country 1-2-3
- The Lost Vikings 1-2 - One of my all time faves, insane fun in 2 player mode!
- Contra 3: The Alien Wars - it's extremely hard, so it will cause frustration in less than 10 minutes. Unless you are the God of video games.
- International Superstar Soccer Deluxe - "just play one more match", until you realize it's 2 AM...
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles in time
- Super Bomberman 1-2-3 - story mode is available in co-op
- NBA Jam & NBA Jam Tournament Edition - I'm not really into basketball, but I'm willing to try it!
- Secret of Mana 1-2 - This will be a long one, but I'm ready!
Feel free to suggest other ones, I would like to hear some more! Also, I'm of course still looking for more tropers to play these games with!
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm Reynolds... and again, I will be unavailable from now on until next Monday night.
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsI'd love to do a co-op SD 3 file with someone. Have to get a more steady connection first.
Swordplay and writing blog. Purveyor of weeaboo fightin' magic. Will you be able to give it a try Monday night? You can find my Steam ID above, but feel free to suggest some other channels to contact me!
For the record, I'm totally new to SD 3, although I played Chrono Trigger on SNES (wish that one had co-op!) and FFVII on PSX. Oh, and KOTOR. So I'm not totally new to RP Gs, but almost.
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsI'll be available Wednesday and Thursday night, if anyone wants to play something...
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsAnother bump: Tonight is the last chance for playing this week...

"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsJust keep on bumpin'...
(Ukonkivi, where are you?)
"We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty." - Malcolm ReynoldsI'd be interested in this, but I'm not sure how it would work.
I don't have much experience with ZSNES, and I've never tried Netplay.
I'm also not sure about how the voice would work... :P
But The Lost Vikings sounds like it would be really awesome to play with someone! If it works out.
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Hi dmboogie!
We could get in touch via some instant messaging tool (I prefer Steam and/or G-talk), or just send me an e-mail to sati84 at gmail dot com, I'll guide you through the necessary steps to try this.
In a nutshell: For voice, you'll need a voicecom software - I prefer Mumble, so if you don't have any, I strongly recommend to get that one.
For Netplay, you'll need an older version of ZSNES than 1.51. I recommend 1.42, since 1.51 for some reason does not support the Netplay feture. Other than that, we have to make sure we use the same ROM file, and we're pretty much ready to go.
The Lost Vikings especially needs the voice connection, since there is need for orchestrated moves. I'm looking forward to try it with you!

Done, thx for the tip

Yesterday evening, we managed to solve the netplay problem using Hamachi with a friend, and played 5-6 exciting ISSD matches, and this opened a whole new can of possibilities.
I've always been a fan of SNES games (I even had one back in the day), and it would be really cool to have some tropers to play with. I think of mainly co-op games with voice connection, but we can play VS games too of course. The games I'd like to play are:
Donkey Kong Country 1-2-3 (co-op) - ISS and ISSD (both co-op and VS) - Super Bomberman 1-2-3 - Mario Kart - Killer Instinct - Mortal Kombat II and 3
I can't think of more right now, but the SNES library sure has some more fun 2 player titles.
Anyone up to some old-school SNES fun with voice connection? I'd love to have a voice conversation with some tropers here while beating an old classic game in co-op mode...
