^ I like quotes from within the novel's setting, but I've grown to hate how some writers are too lazy to make up their own, and twist quotes from the modern day and just add a different name to it.

For example:

"Speak softly and carry a big sword." - Ted B. Moosevelt

It could work for comedic purposes, but not in a completely serious tone.

I like the combo of numbers and titles.

Titles add character to the work.

Number are a necessity: I've read books with no chapter number. I get very annoyed, very quickly.

I'm reading on without numbers right now by a French author. Must be a French thing.
