That's enough petty bickering, thanks very much. Any more and the thump stick has to come out.

Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected. And in my last comment, I wasn't saying that Kusaka's writing became downright terrible, more that overall the plots are getting less and less interesting to read through; I did like Diamond and Pearl and Platinum heaps more than Emerald Arc, and the Sinnoh trio really felt like the closest trio of friends out of everyone introduced so far. But it was really saying something when I preferred the anime's adaptation of the Black and White games over Special's. (Best Wishes is actually pretty good by itself though, lol. No, I don't think either adaptation beats the games themselves.) But lately the BW arc has picked up a bit, and I really like White's determination and character development. Black also got a bit too in that he doesn't really fly off the handle quite as often and he's a bit more focused.
Wow, how did I miss this comment: it reflects how I feel too! Again, the way I see it is that Kusaka's writing was at top form in the Kanto and Jotho arcs but slipped in the Hoenn arc, got better in the FRLG arc, got worse in the Emerald arc, got real good again for the Generation IV arcs, and now has slipped again with Black and White. The rest I also agree with: the Sinnoh trio were very tight friends and great protagonists, "Best Wishes" is more enjoyable than the manga at this time (Yes, I do not give a damn that N and Team Plasma has not been featured in the anime: at least it's not just imitating the games' story almost exactly but in manga format), the "Black and White" games are still best, and Black and White as characters have gotten better since midway into the arc.
I think the anime really topped themselves with Best Wishes.
"Best Wishes" still doesn't top "Indigo League." Not even close.

I do have arcs that I like more than others, but I don't really fault it to Kusaka's writing. Feel that it's been pretty consistent, except for the Platinum arc, if only because it felt pretty rushed and the Battle Frontier really felt tackled on (but I blame time constraints more than anything else, but the ending was epic all the same).
Still can't get into the anime, because of my fear of anything regarding character development getting reset at the end of the generation, not to mention Ash will forget most of his new team exists later on. (F*ck you Ash and go visit your Pidgeot already.) Hell, all of Max's character development is pretty much declared null and void due to the fact he'll never reach age 10 and start his own journey.
Though with the new BW 2 revelations, I'd find it hilarious if Iris ends up beating Black at the Pokemon League after all the Plasma business is taken care of.
Also, Bianca rocks with a guitar◊. And she has bestowed her fixed Pokedex to White◊.

I'll hit you with this thingIf only someone who knew me well hung out in this thread, they would've gotten the joke.
Hey, if you're into kinky stuff, I'll call someone else to bring in the chains and handcuffs.
I'll hit you with this thingOh no, not that one. That one is obvious enough by itself.
Interesting update.
N manages to beat Alder but for some reason Black can't get Reshiram to awaken to challenge him. N seems to be getting more interested in White seeing how she's letting Gigi choose her own fate as well as Amanda the Serperior clearly being okay with her. Black is not pleased.
A side story shows a younger Hugh with his sister before two Plasma grunts attack them. The kids get overwhelmed and try to run away, but when Hugh's sister tries to call back her newly acquired Purrloin (that he got for her as a gift), one of the grunts manages to catch the returning ball before she does.
Daaaaaaang.

I'll hit you with this thingWasn't N portrayed pretty much as a 'creeper' in the BW manga? I honestly like that portrayal of him the most.
So, volume 41 has been fully translated now. I really hope the HGSS arc isn't wrapped up with 42, though. That would probably mean we won't get any new chapters for it. Considering that it isn't coming out until October, it's probably going to have some new stuff in it though.
I recall Bulbapedia saying something about a 15th anniversary thing being announced on September 20th, but I can't find the article and the date has come and gone. Was I imagining it or did it happen or what?
The B 2 W 2 chapter was released for the anniversary, and Pokespe got a two second mention in a tv commercial.
I'll hit you with this thingBlack and White 2 special? News? Source? How does this happen continuity wise? The BW Chapter is nowhere near done.
Oh manga continuity, why do I even try. It'll all make sense in the end I suppose; it always does.
What did they name the Black and White 2 main characters? Since they usually name their characters after their respective games..
The more the arc progresses, the more I dislike this portrayal of N. In the games he was actually conflicted about separating people and Pokemon, since he saw that many of the relationships between them were happy. It's what shook his core beliefs and was an important part of his character development. In Special he's pretty much proven to always be right when it comes to knowing what's best for Pokemon, and his success in leading several Pokemon astray from their trainers like Gigi and Musha isn't helping him to realize that his way of thinking may be flawed.
And his cold attitude toward everyone makes him seem about as (or maybe even less) sympathetic than other Well-Intentioned Extremist Special villains. He's not trying to get others to see his view and side with it as in the original, he's enforcing it on everyone and does not care if they agree with him or not, as their feelings don't play any role to him. (In the games he at least had the hope that once his new world came into creation, everyone would see what a better place it was compared to the old.) Doesn't look like he'll be making a Heel–Face Turn any time soon.
At least the arc itself is improving though with regards to its characters and writing.
Don't forget, up to this point, N has only run into Black once. N's never had his views continually challenged like his game counterpart. And he didn't convince Musha to leave. Musha did that on his own because Black couldn't feed him anymore due to Black's conflicting priorities.
I'll hit you with this thingVolume 42 came out in Japan, continuing the HGSS arc with some major revisions...
Guess who's baaaaaaaack...

I'll hit you with this thingDo you know if this is the final volume of HGSS or will there be more?
Also, I was expecting a longer wait on volume 42. Nice!
Hi all, I'm gonna revive the discussion in one of my favorite manga ever..
So Pokemon XY has been announced and as far as we know the manga now lags several series behind because technically the tonkobon is still delving with HGSS (lol).. So yeah, initially this manga supposed to support the game sales but I think now since it lags so far behind its gonna diverges more and more from the catridge plot
I think HG/SS finishes in Volume 43 which comes out at the end of the month. Well they are also doing B/W at the same time. And in B/W hes going for the 8th Badge with the League and the final battle soon after.
Volume 43 has come out, ending the HGSS chapter and beginning the BW one.
Interesting tidbits:
-HGSS takes place before DP and Pt. Turns out that the Creation trio created here are the same ones Cyrus summoned at Spear Pillow. Also, Regigigas was already awakened by Palmer and Brandon, which is why it went along with Platinum.
-Celebi treated Giovanni's illness, knowing that he would be needed to stop the Four Generals.
-Giovanni returns to running Team Rocket, with Silver still swearing to bring the organization down. Giovanni is totally cool with that.
-Petrel got the drop on Lance by disguising himself as Yellow, freaking him out long enough to beat the crap out of him.
-Silver is a fan of Proteam Omega.
