Today's 383 words! Not very good words, and my characters weren't cooperating but hey, it still counts.

Now I'm of to trawl my 'ideas drawer' for where my previous notes for this project have disappeared to. The joys of six month hiatuses and moving house.

672 today! My chapter has gone from [blank] to looking like a chapter! And I think I managed to solve a kink that was holding up my story. Woo!

One piece of advice is this: DON'T STOP!

And by that I don't mean 'don't stop writing as you sit by the keyboard'. I mean don't skip a day of writing. I write 500 words a day and I think it's pretty easy. But if I for some reason skip a day, then it becomes easier to skip the next one and then the next. Getting back to writing can sometimes take as much as a month for me.

If you do take breaks, make sure it's either a special occasion, or a routine occasion. I skipped writing on New Year’s because fireworks don't help my creativity (I write late at night). I also have a weekly board gaming club. The only reason I can skip that night is because it's weekly and thus as much routine as writing. And if the club is for some reason cancelled, I still have to write because, as far as routine is concerned, this is a normal day.

And if you do fall off the wagon, don't worry if you can't meet your word count goal for the first two nights. Getting back in the groove can be hard. Easing in is recommended.

Woah, it's actually working well for everybody.

386 words written yesterday. And more tonight. And this is crazy because I've been writer's blocked for almost a year now!

I hope you enjoy whatever is written above. If not - well, I'm afraid that's life.

257! Nice how the stuff I wrote during school came out to just over 250.

If I'm identifying your avatar correctly as create.swf Yuyuko, you might be pleased to know that the piece I'm working on right now is actually for my application for Po IR, the Touhou roleplay forum.

I used to pull out from my behind 3000-4000 per day two years ago.

Now 1000-1500 is stretching it. Maybe I've lost interest with furiously writing away. Or maybe, you know, I've learnt that quantity does not can never, ever beat quality in writing.

I've found that going for more than 250 words a day without serious inspiration can kill off most of the quality in people's works.

You lucky bastard, still getting to 1000.

The problem is I am not sure what people thinks of the quality of my work. Compared to what I used to write 3 years ago what I do now is a masterpiece. But it is very possible it is still crap.

Not to mention, recently I tend to be distracted by a plethora of computer games. Not good.

I don't think anything I write first-draft is really "quality" work— it always needs to be edited heavily and pieced into a proper story. But then, I write rather haphazardly.

I let people slide for one day. There could be any numer of reasons why they miss one day, after all.

But if people look like they're missing a second, that's when I start harassing.

Actually, I should keep a list of everyone who's done their work, and post it here every day. Keep th thread bumped, for one, and help keep everybody on track.

Sign me up for 100 words a day. I'm in the middle of exams so I've got a deficiency of free time.

This is this.
