Nicole lays a comforting hand on Joanna's shoulder and gives her a reassuring smile.

"Dammit, where's Jean? She's probably the one who's most capable of comforting Jo."

[looks up at Nicole and Aqua] Are they really here for me? Are they?

"Alright, remember, I'm right here if you get scared or need help."

He lets his morph switch to squid mode, but in the middle of the switch, he quickly steals a kiss from her lips and drags her under. Once underneath the water, she should feel a clarity in her eyes and lungs.

"Whoa...I...I have gills? And I can see clearly underwater?"

"Bullshit"? Jo, what's wrong?

He chuckles slightly.

"Well, sort of, you should feel them right along your neck if you touch it. Don't worry, this'll wear off the moment I switch morphs, but if making particular physical contact with people, I'm able to share part of my morphs' power with the personality constraint. The problem is, it only unleashes some of the features, not all of them."

"Still though...this is amazing!"

Alexa feels the gills on her neck.

"These feel a bit funny, but I can deal with it."

"You do realize that you can tell us anything, right, Jo? We are your friends, after all."

...I...I...oh, God, how do I say this? [pushes her hands up against her face]

sigh...Nicole, would you kindly get out?

He holds her hand gently, his own slightly sticky with suction cups.

"Wanna dive a little deeper and test it out?"

"Let's go for it."

He takes her hand and kicks a little farther underwater, a small glow emitting from something wrapped around his neck to light their way down.

"Never thought I'd be spending this long underwater before...but this is just amazing..."

"Anytime you want to do this, just ask and we'll lend you our power. I'm always willing to make you smile dearest."

"I'll keep that in mind."

She kisses him again.

"If there was some way I could share my immortality with you, I'd do it in a heartbeat."

"And let you just suffer like this? Sorry, Jo, but that ain't happening."

"You do realize that'd be incredibly dangerous, right? Immortality is a very complex thing to deal with. As much as I want to spend eternity with you, it would be very dangerous if it were under those circumstances."

He floats there for a moment.

"Though I'm not gonna lie, I have been looking into some business concerning spirit animals with ridiculously long life spans to compensate."

No, Nicole [stands up and stares angrily at Nicole], I need for you to go!

"I see...it's just that...living forever wouldn't be the same without you there with me."

"Whoa, Jo, don't lose your temper, okay? Just calm the hell down and tell me why you apparently need me to go."

"But what if I were to die before we were ready? You'd have no choice but to live without me. Sure, once I'm gone, I'm not all gone, I'll just become the same as what I protect, but we still wouldn't be able to touch each other."

He sits on the bottom of the pool and looks up at her.

"But it wouldn't be all bad. Even if I were dead, I'd still manage to send my love to you."

Alexa just swims over and hugs him tight.

He hugs her tightly and lets the tentacles mixed in his hair touch her cheek gently.
