Basically, I want your feedback on how you think it's best to lampshade the lines that are fundamentally "Now, let's do this" that an eight year-old boy would think cool but any teen or adult would roll their eyes at.
I ask this because I'm aiming for cool with the lead protagonist in a screenplay I've written a lot of notes on, and I don't want him to become cheesy like Horatio Cain (CSI: Miami) by saying stuff like "Now, let's do this" too often or by trying to sound super-cool while saying them.
Sorry if I'm not explaining myself that well.
Anyways, the ideas I have are either:
a) Come up with lots of good one-liners, which won't be easy.
or b) Just have him say "Now, let's do this" and the like in a casual manner, which will be easy.
Do you guys have any other ideas? Or, which of those two methods I said do you think would be the best way to lampshade this trope?
