"Please try to exploit/ protect/ teach me? I'm small and cute!" Yick: hate that strategy (says she who is a grand 1.49 m tall and a massive 50 kgs at her absolute heaviest). All you need to do is run into people who cross off all but "exploit" and can back it well up with watts, and you're in major trouble.

Thoughts:

• Looks like Miseng has a stronger will than I gave her credit for. Looks like my theory about how she got this far might not be complete bunk.
• That word chain must've been a bitch to translate.
• Akraptor is now secure in his place as my favourite new character.
• Guessing it was either Baam/Viole or Lurker showing up at the end, there. They both have a pretty decent reason to head to that room, after all.

You're not the only one to suspect Miseng's got more to her than generic cuteness. That girl has strength, and it might not just be in the will stakes, either (though I'm glad to see that: was a bit worried, there, for a little while).

And, Akraptor is a cutie (for a different set of reasons). Dunno about favourite, though. You have to go some to beat Rak, in my book. He's not quite there, yet.

The winky was included for a reason. Rak is the benchmark: nobody new is quite there yet for me. I need more time, dunno about anybody else.

I'd say my favorite new character thus far is the Yeon. Followed by Teddy.

So I'm gonna try and make guesses about the new characters classes.

The Yeon said she was a Fisherman so that's easy enough to call. I think that Akaraptor is a spearberer because of the way he used his shunsoo as a long ranged attack when fighting Baam. I'm betting that Wangnan is a scout from his speed and how he acts. He just seems scout like. I'm also betting that Teddy is a scout. He just seems like a front line fighter, but he doesn't have that overwhelming power that we have seen from other Fishermen.

Maybe the little girl is a really good Light Bearer.

I'm betting that glasses girl is a wave controller pretty much on a whim.

Yeon's probably in second place for me.

We actually know Goseng's (glasses girl's) class for certain, she's a Light Bearer. We saw her bring out her lights when she left the room.

But aside from that, and the fact that I actually suspect that Miseng's a Wave Controller*

, I agree with your choices. That just leaves Nia, who's done absolutely nothing that would give us any sign about what he can do.

I'm betting that Guide is either a special class of Scout, or a combination class.

Hmmm we seem to be a little low on Spear Bearers. They and scouts seem to be the most numerous with only a need for a few Wave Controllers and Light Bearers. With Fishermen being in between those two.

So The Devil and the brat, scout or Fisherman? Since neither seem ranged, and it doesn't seem like they would be other classes.

Prince is probably a Fisherman. I honestly don't know about Rapdevil, though.

Actually since we haven't seen Rapdevil fight yet his arm could be a projectile thrower, and give us another Spear Bearer.

Considering the little bit about guides we know... they're rather rare. Hmmmm... maybe a combo of scout, light-bearer and wave-controller, with the emphasis on the seeking-tracking and memory skills of all of those classes above the sheer wattage and tool usage?

In which case, any person we've met that isn't specifically shown to be crap at noting what's going on them around them has a small chance of being a guide, if they show cross-class skills.

It's not like we ever actually saw a lot of what Evan or Hwa Ryun could actually do. Well, apart from worry up a storm in his case, and kick everybody but Baam's butts while in disguise in hers. So far, Miseng might actually match him for a careful (or just plain pessimistic) world-view and maybe her for guile. We'll really need to learn more before we can say for sure, though. About most of them.

EDIT: Actually, when it comes to worry-warts trying to guess every possible angle beforehand... Wangnan springs to mind. And, I've not got a clue what he can actually do.

@The "word chain:" The translator noted that they used random words and didn't bother to translate it literally. The "ok" and the "imposter" were probably correct while the others were just to fill in the bubbles.

Bigger question is who. Viole/Baam seems like the obvious choice, but that also strikes me as being too obvious. Lurker has no motive whatsoever, and the only other established character without a rock-solid alibi is Teddy, who really doesn't strike me as the type to do something like that.

However, this is very good news for the main party; Prince's group was the biggest threat to them among the regulars, and now that they're down one member, which is tricky problem to overcome in this game where everyone starts out in a pair. The hard part will be finding two extra rooms, now.

You know I might actually be more inclined to trust people that dumb! Silly Goseng and her standards!

But yeah... An offscreen death.

And I would say it looks like Baam is maintaining some standards, but it looks more like he just wanted to fight the Regular.

As I see it, there are four reasons for this arc: we get some more info about the politics of the tower, see Baam's actions from an outside perspective, get an idea of how strong he is, and get him some new allies. If we have no idea what is actually going through his head, the author is doing a good job.

To be honest, I think that earlier even Baam didn't know what was actually going through his own head. I got the impression he was swimming as hard as he could just to keep his head above water the whole time. In the end, he kind of failed: he was yanked down by the undertow of the Tower's political currents, despite his best efforts to just move forward and keep things simple. <shrugs>

In a way, he's still trying to keep things simple (and, failing).

I think that Baam still mostly wants to protect people, but now he thinks that the best way to do that is to not let them climb the tower and to push everyone away from him.

If Baam did kill Rapdevil why did he do it? Revenge for Hatsu?
