There is the Samus Decoy in Federation Force.
Which is a little blowup Samus you can deploy to scare off Space Pirates.
Oh really when? He's probably the sempai in that situation?
She wants sempai to notice her because its not as satisfying if he doesn't know she's the one who made him explode.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBleh, shouldn't have perused the comments sectionnote , but I'm looking forward to the game more and more now.

I look forward to playing as Ang Seth.
I sure said that!Still doesn't exonerate the stupid chibi visuals.
Listen, this is not meant as an attack on chibi fans. I think chibis are adorable. But Metroid is considered to be Nintendo's only 1st party IP with a more mature tone. So if you just chuck in chibis and junk, the whole thing's gone to pot. Fix these visuals, and you'll be amazed by the increase of being treated like a legitimate Metroid game.
Otherwise, playing as the Federation isn't playing as Samus, but it still sounds okay. Using Blast Ball as a tutorial is also a really novel idea.
I was going to mock you for that stupid "only mature IP" comment, then realized that I really didn't feel like starting a flamewar. I'm responding with this dismissive post instead because it's still a stupid thing to say.
Well, you might be right, I guess. I actually haven't payed that much attention to the new games. Since you're implying that Metroid isn't the only franchise with the "mature tone", which exactly are you referring to? I kinda want to guess Xenoblade, but I don't remember if that's 1st party or not...
Maybe Zelda? But only Twilight Princess has really been "mature".
Monolith Soft is wholly owned by Nintendo, so it's first party, yes. I was referring to Eternal Darkness though, as well as Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101, and The Last Story, all of which are owned outright by Nintendo. And Fire Emblem, ESPECIALLY Fire Emblem Jugdral. And Zelda. Despite how Wind Waker looks most people wouldn't call that IP kiddy, and that one ends with Ganon catching three feet of steel through the skull onscreen.
Majora's Mask. Link's Awakening. Hell, Ocarina is surprisingly dark if you go in spoiler free.

Metroid is probably more mainstream than the listed games.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Did you honestly just suggest that Metroid is more mainstream than Zelda.
Like, seriously, despite the dedicated, obsessive fanbase Metroid isn't very popular. There's a reason Retro chose to work on Donkey Kong rather than another Prime, and it's that DKCR sold better than all three Prime games combined.
I thought it was just because they liked Donkey Kong? I mean, it was entirely a developer's choice.
Speaking of that, if there is a new main Metroid Prime on the cards, I hope Retro isn't the one making it. I want to see them do something new.
Metroid is and always has been incredibly niche.
Metroid is popular among hardcore Nintendo fans but you could say that about almost every franchise they have. In the grand scheme of things Metroid isn't a major series.
Kirby, Zelda, and Smash Bros all consistently outsell Metroid.
And Mario, obviously.

At the same time, Samus is a relatively well-known niche character. One of the least among the greats for Nintendo, as it were.
I sure said that! It's like being Aquaman. You're the least renowned member of the Justice League... but you're still a member of the Justice League.
Anyone see this? http://mashable.com/2015/06/30/nintendo-e3-reggie-fils-amie-metroid/
They're honest, at least.
Is this a Jo Jo reference? It's a consistent million seller when good. That indicates it either has a large dedicated fanbase, or it isn't that niche overall. Probably a little of both.
I meant the first part of the list.
I shouldn't post late at night X_X
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'm kinda confused by how offended many seem to be over the cartoony visuals, myself- Fusion and especially Zero Mission were on the more anime side of things as far as color use and so on, after all.
I sure said that!I hate people that are against cartoony visuals.
They should be round up and shot.
Are the Federation Force troopers any different from Fusion's troopers aside from being in 3D?
I'd still prefer if the game focused on Samus and a Bounty Hunter team but this sounds a lot more interesting than when it was first announced. I'm glad Prime 4 will focus on Sylux. We could use a new main antagonist.
