Fez 2 un-announced, apparently due to one pretty singular twitter-meltdown.

Okay, I've seen part of Indie Game: the Movie, and I think Phil Fish was kind of a douche, but yeah Marcus Beer is a fucking tool, although I already had that opinion way before this.
Also, it kind of became apparent to me that Fish has a certain degree of autism, especially in the way he talks. Either that or he's extremely fucking depressed all the fucking time, although they aren't exactly mutually exclusive.
EDIT:
Just read this on Neo GAF.
Shame to see that the game has really been cancelled, gonna say this again, hopefully he doesn't do anything that puts himself in danger.
Going by the first half of Indie Game: The Movie, like fuck he will. To him, game developing isn't just his passion, it's his life, his obsession. This is why he's so hurt to the core, to the point people call it butthurt. It's like insulting his own offspring, and to top it all, there were personal insults made. Marcus Beer should fucking know damn well he shouldn't do this shit. Motherfucker's in a very depressed state. Beer himself has been depressed, so yeah, I don't condone suicide, but if it happens, you know who made the final push.
I'm not defending his dickish behaviour most of the time, but as someone with ASD myself, I can sort of relate.

Signatures are for lamers. That was plain hurtful. From what I know about is that he has a short temper and easily angered, what Marcus was doing was adding fuel to the fire and at consequence. Making someone cancel in which there is a fanbase to that game. To the people that want to have Fez II, Marcus pretty much destroyed the existence of that game and will get flame war to the fans that wanted it. With someone who has mild-autism, that is quite depressing.
PhewTo be honest, if the guy really quitted because of comments from other people, hes not cut out to be a developer or any form of creator of entertainment nor art.
Yeah, all creators NEED backbone...they have to take criticism, one way or another...if they don't have backbone to do so then they shouldn't, especially ones like Fish...
Give me cute or give me...something?If he really has Bi-Polar it's not that simple. My mom and some tumblr friends have it. It's not a "backbone" problem, thanks.
It's good for him to leave the internet, I'm happy for him.
DumboI think the main problem is that people generally just underestimate stuff like bipolar disorder. I myself don't have bipolar, luckily, but I have been depressed for about half of my life. I was even diagnosed with depression. Now it has gotten less after I got diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (the main reason for my depression probably was a sort of identity crisis due to not knowing what was wrong with me), but I did have to go look for help.
Depression isn't something you "get over", and considering bipolar disorder is worse than "just a simple" depression, I don't see how you can "get over it".
Signatures are for lamers. But is is something you need to learn to manage, especially if it manifests in a way that could affect your career. Which, obviously, it has.
Most people don't know how to be supportive or at least not obstructive to a Bi-Polar person though. And you don't know how he was raised. He could have had shitty parents and teachers and never gotten much support.
DumboEveryone has problems, the question is how you deal with them. Apparently Fish deals with his problems by throwing temper tantrums and telling people to kill themselves. When you act like a total douche to everyone around you, it should not be surprising when they treat you similarly in return.
The internet has gone on for to long. It is time it is to be shut down.

Stop caring and embrace nullness.Except it's most likely not over the Internet, perhaps Phil Fish did see a psychiatrist at one point in time, perhaps even a psychologist to make the diagnose.
Also, don't be condescending here. It makes you look like a tool. No offense.
Also, too*

Signatures are for lamers.Has Phil Fish ever called himself Bi-Polar or is this just what he's been called?
Honestly, yes Phil Fish said some crappy things, but he's just some guy who makes videogames. I wish him all the best, the world will not suffer greatly without Fez II. I know people say Fez I is great so I'm sad there won't be a sequel (haven't played it, yet) but, I'm happy if he becomes healthier. I have no reason to wish him anything other than well, he's just said some stupid things.
On the topic of the game, people are still finding crazy sounding secrets in it......

DumboPhil Fish has never stated whether he has gone too a psychologist.
Phil Fish has never stated whether he has gone too a psychiatrist.
Phil Fish has never stated that he suffers from any disorders.
Everything stated about his mental health has been conjecture and speculation. You guys have diagnosed him off of one documentary and over things he said on the internet.
You have diagnosed him from the internet.
Telling someone they look like a tool is being condescending, so by your own logic you are a tool. However I am more concerned on your use of the word tool. Who even says tool anymore? When did we travel back too the Too-thousands?
This was a dead thread revived too talk about a subject that got locked. The mods will probably notice and lock this thread to.
Stop caring and embrace nullness.Eh, well, I was never personally insulted or offended by Phil Fish, so I guess I have no comment on him, if he's not actually diagnosed with anything. Still, I'm sympathetic to being inable to deal with the internet. I used to be bad on the internet.
If no-one actually plays Fez, I guess it should be locked. It's a very well-received game though....
DumboWell darn, I liked 80% of Fez.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. It is indeed a well-received game, though perhaps somewhat overrated. Like, a lot of people keep saying it's one of the greatest games made in the last few years (maybe even longer), yet all I see is a solid platformer with a perspective change gimmick. Maybe I'll get it the next time it goes on sale, preferably from the dev's site as they provide a DRM free copy alongside a Steam copy for the price of one.
Or maybe not. Maybe I'll just get it from one of the other distributors like GOG and Steam themselves next time it goes on sale just so Fish'll get less of my money for being such a condescending jerk.

Fez is indeed a good game which is why it sucks it's created is such a prima-donna. Just about everything that's happened to him has been reactionary and even if he has some sort of disorder (Which hasn't been proven) it doesn't excuse his behavior. This blows.
nyo ho hoSo it's just speculation he is bi-polar? You know people can be extreme assholes without suffering anything. His long peroids of no activity mean nothing.
I drink 17 cups of coffee in court.looking it up the only places that say he's bi polar are forums talking about the fiasco, but I haven't found anything concrete.
nyo ho hoEh, he deserved it.
Defend him all you want, but its hard to feel sorry for him when in the same posts he announced Fez 2 cancelled he constantly asked the other person to "kill himself".
There's a reason why parents try to instill good values into their children and not "make them grow into an asshole".
Some that defend him say something like "I bet you're just as bad as he is when you talk shit, so why bother complaining about him talking shit? Also, the media had a huge help in making it look like he's a jerk." Which I don't buy since for one, a guy at his position should know better than to talk shit like that, and for another, while that may true to some extent, that still doesn't excuse his douchiness.
They don't have to be nice. They should at least show some damn respect to the people they're trying to sell their product to.
