Ok. Back with a few more ideas.
Alien #4: Alien is a Marshal who is tasked to bring back an alien who has escaped to Earth. Is largely reliant on technology like an image inducer and a means of flight transportation but has natural psychic abilities. Decides to stay on Earth after engaging in human/alien romance.
Alien #5: Alien is a spy who was sent decades ago but whose cryopod failed to open. Bio-organic in nature, Alien possess natural abilities of telepathy, shapeshifting and flight.
Alien #6: Alien is actually from a far off world and after meeting a space themed superhero decides he likes Earth and settles in as best as he can.

Ok, I'm trying to develope an alien character in a Superhero story. Now this isn't the Kryptonian or even Daxamite kinda alien either. This character is meant to a clear homage/expy of DC's Martian Manhunter. The problem is, I just don't know which idea to pursue. This is where you guys come in.
Idea #1: Alien is a defector from a largely eusocial culture who specialize in espionage, sending drones to investigate planets before sending an armada to attack and subjegate. This species is heavily reliant on hive mind and as a result, this character has psychic abilities that have been awakened though relatively weak after months without contact. This species also have natural shapeshifting abilites.
Idea #2: Alien is the Last of his Kind, finding himself stranded on Earth. An accomplished psychic, this alien uses an image inducer to appear normal. Can also fly without aid and possess super-strength. Works as a high school teacher.
Idea #3: Alien is one of a few refugees. Doesn't possess psychic ability but can shapeshift. Comes from a society where an occupation IS your life. In this case, a detective which serves as the hman equivalent of his old job.
