You are totally right, muggles should NOT be shooting around and messing up everything (and making it hard for me to consider siding with them after they've messed up everything)
So, it's the beginning of the school year? I'm assuming because of the war, most magical entrances that can be crossed by muggles are being closely watched and the platform 9 3/4 will be blocked at any time students aren't getting in or out.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/^ Well you know the old saying, "When push comes to shove.."
At least, not until the shit hits the fan.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Who honestly thought we'd enter a train-station full of civvies (mainly kids) guns blazing?

Do muggles call themselves muggles?
No, we call ourselves human.
This post was thumped by the Eldritch Flyswatter of Horror
I did. That's why I decided to be pacifist before I decided whether I'd be a muggle or a wizard.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/So it was supposed to be a relatively quiet operation that goes south. What were they doing their originally and what prompts the fight?
From what the GM said I guess the humans are doing recon and the wizards are trying to evac. people. Unless something has changed.
So We're evacuating the place... Couldn't we just block the entrance?

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/Well if we're being low-key I have no idea why they'd need a mass evac.; unless some dick got trigger happy.
What about just blocking the entrance to platform 9 3/4? Order some house elf to do it, it can't be that hard. Make a decoy, there's really no reason to evacuate, over all because there's a ton of students leaving the place anyway.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/Unless somebody manages to slip in,kill said elf, then let more people in.
There would be backup elves, probably INSIDE platform 9 3/4. No one could slip in, unless they were a wizard.
And you'd have a hard time killing something that can disappear at will if they hear as much as a footstep.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/Hmmm... the possibility I see is:
School is starting. Wizards are all boarding the train. Muggle team has been sent to recon the area. Muggles watch as people keep going into a wall and disappearing. One of them isn't being to discreet about his watching and some of the wizards pick up on him. Soon it becomes obvious that both sides are aware the other is there and someone panics or overreacts or blinks funny and both sides start wailing on each other. Wizards take off in a hurry to escape on the train and the 9 3/4 stays open on accident.

... does that mean I miss it? I'm always late for stuff so...

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/Better set your alarm early then.
Just remember that the film's depiction of the entrance to is wrong. (At least location-wise.)
"Yup. That tasted purple."So wizards take off early, the train leaves... isn't the platform still only for wizards to pass through? Would they grab some kid and try to walk through while holding him/her against his/her will? (I think it was Kino who mentioned that if you were magical and held the hand of someone un-magical, they could probably go to platform 9 3/4)

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/@Faramir: Maybe late for the train but not the event. Walk onto the platform just as all hell breaks loose or something.
As for the muggles getting in. Again this is starting as a covert OP. The idea is the wizards have very little if any reason to suspect that the muggles even know where the station is, this proves wrong, of course.
We have a squib on our team, and someone holding hands with a person who can enter can probably enter too. Frickin' ninja edit...

You are reading this.So wizards AREN'T watching it closely?
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you can't sell him fish anymore. http://thoughtfulspurts.wordpress.com/I don't recall the books ever saying Muggles can't get in. I think the onl reason no one has is because no one has ever tried to run into what should be a brick wall. And if they did there is porabably a wizard on the other side who is supposed to mind swipe them and send them back on their merry way.
... so when they put their guns on those wizard's throats, what happens to the couple thousand kids running around who just heard a shot?

Like I said in the signups, the Muggle side should keep the mission low-key (at least when it's going to plan), so plain-clothes and sidearms/easily concealed weapons only really. King's Cross is a big and busy station, and right next to one of four international railway stations in the country. The last thing anyone wants is fully armed soldiers causing a major panic.
