So I'm pretty sure that Destroy Man is immortal at this point.
So has Destroyman's brain been split up even more, or are these just robots programmed with his personality and memories?
Granted, this is a game set in a verse with supernatural bullshit as well as superscience bullshit especially since it takes place in the same verse as Killer 7. So maybe Destroyman is some kind of undying vengeful spirit driven by his grudge against Travis.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI wonder when they are gonna release the 1st 2 games on the Switch.
Cause I really wanna play 2.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Considering the Switch didn't entirely abandon motion controls that would be nice.
I just don't know if it would sell all that well.
Both of those sounds pretty believable.

I mean... just go the Heroes' Paradise route and not have the motion controls.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.No More Heroes III is 35 to 45 percent complete, has a bigger open world than No More Heroes 1
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I'm used to Suda 51 being a Trolling Creator and being disappointed by the final product. So this
The budget for No More Heroes III is not Grasshopper Manufacture’s biggest.
The open world will be bigger than the original No More Heroes‘, but not as big as something you would see in a Ubisoft or Rockstar Game. There will be “about the amount of side missions you’d expect from a No More Heroes game, along with some other extras”—“something different than your standard mini-game.”
They suit Travis wears in the announcement trailer will be playable in the final game, but only in “certain special circumstances.”
This is what I expected.
Getting to play as Henry and Shinobu for three short levels. Meeting Skelter Helter for an underwhelming, opening boss fight. The obnoxiously long parking lot fight before Margaret's boss battle. The revenge missions that were supposed to be related to Bishop's murder. The ending of No More Heroes 2. The opportunity to fight 3-5 bosses from Desperate Struggle in Heroes' Paradise. The announcement of Travis Strikes Back prior to No More Heroes 3 and the text-only cutscenes.
And now this.
I still hope this will be good but I'm not rushing to buy a Switch either.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The fact that the suit is playable is a surprise considering its purpose was to further obfuscate Travis for a litle bit in the trailer. As for the rest, you do realize Suda didn't have much to do with NMH 2. I would't really say that Travis Strikes Again was trolling either, trailer cutscenes looking fancier than most of the game is nothing new,, and the text and low-fi stuff was a stylistic choice rather than a le epic own. He geniunely wanted to have another look at his older, more experimental stuff as a warmup since he didn't do much directing for a while, didn't even try to hide it. Not sure what are you trying to imply here, since folks tend to really exaggerate how wacky and out of control Suda is.
Edited by UltraWanker on Nov 6th 2019 at 2:48:07 PM
While he wasn't in the director's chair apparently every article about the game I can find mentions him. He's even part of the game's advertising. I'd find it hard to believe he "didn't have much to do with NMH 2" unless you can prove it.
Everybody wanted NMH 3 - and NMH 2 ended with a cliffhanger that wasn't nearly as satisfying as the first game's.
Instead we got a game that shifted to an overhead, arcade-style gameplay, had little to no dialogue, fewer bosses, and (at the time of announcement/release) no indication that 3 would be made any time soon.
- We want a sequel!
- Here have a spin-off game!
I'm fine with Suda 51's trolling creator style, so I don't mind anything about what you have said.
Watch SymphogearLittle to no dialogue, what? Did you even play the game? Travis Strikes Again has writing in spades. He also clarified they didn't have the money for 3 and that the commercial release for TSA would help a lot in that front, because money doesn't grow on trees. It was also his first directing role in a while with a new engine to boot, so it's fair to warmup on a spinoff first. There is trolling, and then there is dramatic antagonism of the developers.
As for NMH 2 he was executive director, basically overseeing that the game goes smoothly rather than running the show. In all fairness, Grasshopper pretty much has him as the defacto face for marketing, which doesn't help. He took a more of a manager role for the company until more recently. So I guess this one can be pinned on the team.
Edited by UltraWanker on Nov 6th 2019 at 2:58:31 PM
Amending what I said - the problem is that the bulk of the dialogue is text-only. The first two games had extensive cut-scenes and voice-acting.
TSB doesn't have that. The game's writing is far more Breaking the Fourth Wall/reference-heavy compared to the first two games, and reading through that during boss fights is grating.
I'm okay with it to an extent. I bought Desperate Struggle in a heartbeat because I liked the first game, and walked away disappointed with how the story panned out, features like the hub world and the revenge missions, and the "improved job system" which were sorely lacking.
I've grown a lot less trusting of Trolling Creator-style game development since then. It's why I'm not fond of popular indies like FNAF and Undertale.
So when I read this about 3 it's a comfort because "hey, at least they're openly admitting that this game is going to have limitations." The marketing for 2 and the build-up for TSB felt a lot less honest.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Another issue was that No More Heroes 2 really didn't do well, as Wikipedia explains:
Sequel sells less than a port/remake that's generally considered to be inferior to the original release. It can be easy to see why Marvelous and Grasshopper might have been apprehensive for so long. As much as Suda wants to experiment and mess around, he has a company to run (unlike say Swery who can juggle between multiple places, decreasing risks). With this franchise in particular it's just the sad reality of the industry. All we can do now is hope that No more Heroes 3 pays off this time.
And, funnily enough, the writing of TSA is kinda about that actually. It's definitely one of the most personal spin-off's out there.

No More Heroes III Gets an Extended Trailer for The Game Awards 2019
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.A five minute animated short about the antagonists' backstory with pop cultural references, tie-ins with previous works, and metatextual commentary. We are approaching peak Suda and I am loving every fucking second of it.
I'm pretty sure it features some animation by AC-bu of Galo Sengen and Bob Team Epic fame.

Makes me wonder if this game is going to be an homage or a piss-take on the MCU given the superhero theme.
Edited by M84 on Dec 12th 2019 at 11:25:44 PM
Disgusted, but not surprisedWell this is a deconsturction of the E.T. character if I ever saw one.
I think this is the backstory for the main antagonists, not side characters.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, you're right (probably).
Suda did say he wanted to feature Thanos-level threats, and he established that pretty quickly.
But we'll probably be seeing some genre mixing and matching, given one of his recent statements: "The MCU has nothing on Kamen Rider. The Kamen Rider Cinematic Universe (KRCU): No more superheroes - it's all about tokusatsu heroes!"

Welp, the Game Awards trailer alone may have sold me on No More Heroes 3, despite being completely unfamiliar with the franchise. Anyone want to catch me up on what this is all about?
An otaku known as Travis Touchdown buys a lightsaber & wanting to nab some tail from a pretty blonde European lady, he wounds up enrolling himself in the United Assassin's association that may or may not be role & must systematically battle each the organizations top 10 assassin's in all in the quest of as said before nabbing some sexy European pussy.
In his quest he meets a whole host of insane people that includes a black samurai ninja girl still in highschool, a serial-killer girl who dresses in poofy pink dresses & kills people with a bat, his cooler older brother Henry Cooldown, a samurai rival with a dragon theme, and his half-sister who he accidentally dated once.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So you're playing as a big ol' weeb dude named Travis Touchdown who gets pulled into the supposed United Assassin Association or something like that by this woman named Sylvia you meet at a bar. In these hack n' slash games you cut your way through the rankings while doing menial labor and fight bosses with various personality quirks. A lot of elements I don't think have too gracefully but there's still fun to be had.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)The sequel then gets more serious though still weird, touching on themes like the Cycle of Revenge and how utterly pointless the fights are and how they ruin lives (which tbf was already something touched on in the first game).
There was also a spinoff game that followed it which went really meta about videogames as a whole. It also reveals that Travis actually married said sexy European lady Sylvia and started a family with her. He's got a young daughter who is a popular streamer and a son who is in the Boy Scouts.
And that brings us up to date.

Disgusted, but not surprisedMy boi Travis Touchdown actually put a ring on that pussy and had some kids too.
I'm so proud I could cry.
NOW IF ONLY NINTENDO CAN FUCKING PORT THE 1ST 2 GAMES ON THE SWITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who the Hell has the spin-off sequel of the franchise but doesn't bring in the 1st 2 games? It doesn't make sense.
Edited by slimcoder on Dec 12th 2019 at 10:42:25 AM
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It sort of implies that the rather confusing ending of the first game was actually a Flash Forward with little Jeane Touchdown seeing a painting of her father and uncle duking it out.
Disgusted, but not surprised
Final Destroyman looking very Ganman like.
