There are plenty here who have been guilty of it. Remember that i'm the one who dredged the past 15 months' worth of posts in this thread to find all of the codecs we wrote, it just happens again and again here.

I like that they're making lag cancelling more accessible. What i hate about technical play is when it gets unintuitive, like wavedashing where a series of relatively complex motions becomes "better" than walking/running. Broadening the means to play competitively makes it great for guys like me who don't really care about serious competition, but don't want to be completely left in the dust either.

Wait... In the second part of the PotD, Shulk's already killed 1980-1990.

I don't get the logic of making previously-starter characters unlockable, if that's the case, but I can hold out hope for the Ice Climbers, at least.

They did it with Captain Falcon and Ness in Brawl. They might've started out as secret characters but it means there's at least precedent.

There are several people who have that philosophy, but them EXPRESSING their expectation of the worst just makes them come off as misanthropes to the rest of us.

Low expectations are one thing, trumpeting them to the heavens is quite another.

@Baffle Blend Okay...why is Auto-Cancelling considered new to Smash 4? I'm pretty sure that it was in Brawl.

Yeah, it's not new. If there's a new advantage you get from properly L-Cancelling(instead of no lag or half lag), that's "new".

Only if you landed on a specific frame.

I really hope this mechanic is real and going to be in the finished product. Means that playing against other decently skilled people is gonna get stressful, but hey, I've always wanted the game to be more fluid. Never got the point of landing lag and not keeping your momentum on a running jump.

I personally would welcome that change with open arms. There's no reason why advanced techniques should be completely unintuitive.

No. It's the same picture the leak showed. It only proves it more correctly. Nobody knew what the lock on the All-Star button even meant. Now we do. Also, could you please keep it to the Leaks topic for the courtesy of others?

I remember making some SSB characters on WWF No Mercy. Mario, Metal Mario, Dr. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Captain Falcon, and I think that was it? Wrestlemania 2000 had Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Metal Mario, Donkey Kong, and that might've been it(it didn't allow female characters to be made. All you could do was use preset models of 'em).
