Weird in a Can (updated M-F)

There's something I noticed a while ago but didn't bring it up. Riki (the little furball friend of Shulk) shows up in Shulk's Final Smash, but he also appears on the battlefield in the trailer and one screenshot. Weird. I'm guessing either assist trophy, or maybe part of Shulk's taunt.

Taunt for sure. He's even saying "Get 'em, Shulk!" when he shows up.

He's both an Assist Trophy and a Final Smash. Dual roles confirmed. Speaks well for a lot of speculation and fan hope, I'd say.

A player cursor will appear above assist trophies and Pokémon?

... So, I'm gonna go ahead and guess Shulk's FS is a Mega Man-esque team-up attack with the rest of the Xenoblade crew, but that's, again, a guess.

Also, I doubt this'll happen, but I'd love to see some ATs from Xenosaga or Baiten Kaitos, considering both MONOLITH and Namco are on-board and non-Pac-Man Namco ATs are already confirmed.

For the record:

• Happy Happy: A dance that fills the chain attack bar.
• Freezinate: Riki spits a big ball of ice.
• Yoink!: Riki steals something from the enemy, be it droppable loot or stats.

I assume Happy Happy will heal his summoner, and Yoink! might either nab an item out of his victim's hands or steal some stat from them and give it to his summoner.

This might be the first assist that works as both support and attacker. And the Heropon still has many other abilities under his sleeve. If he doesn't use Roly-Poly to trip people I'll be dissapointed.

Also, Riki needs some L'oreal, stat.

Also, Ridley confirmed for playable, assist trophy, boss, stage, and credits sequence. He's too big to be limited to one form of gameplay.

The entire game is actually Ridley. You play it on a pterodragon shaped disc (the science of Ridley makes otherwise impossible things possible), all characters and items are in fact fragments of Ridley, and if you put every menu screen and frame of classic mode together you get his face. Palming.
