Kisume is clearly the one being who knows the answer to everything. Problem is, it scares her, so she hides in the bucket. Maybe she was a maneating creature before, but now that she knows what lay beyond death she tries to suppress her hunger out of compassion. However, she may know the answer, but she either doesn't/can't use it, so she isn't very strong. Friends with Yamame regardless.

Of course! Combining the "Kasen is a Deva" and "Konngara is a Deva" theories with the above theory, we can BS our way into saying that Kisume is somehow Kasen and/or Konngara. The reason she doesn't look like any of them (or like any other oni/oni-like creature) is clearly bucket.

Kisume was pissed at everyone thinking Konngara was a deva so Kisume transformed Konngara into a bucket.
