She does chuck irredeemable people into the river. And people that try to hold onto their metaphorical money even after death.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think she'd probably dislike murderers for wasting two lives (or more).
Maybe depends on how they act?
One who sounds honestly bad about it? She'll let. Some asshole who is probably completely unashamed of what he did? Splish Splash.

I guess she does work hard to guide whatever person can possibly be redeemed. Her conversations might even offer advice on how they should plead their case before the yama.
My understanding is that trying to plead your case is probably a bad idea, since she's not going to change her mind, and you might end up sinning again while trying.
Welp, as much as it pains me to say, we should probably think about the next (less popular) character to discuss!
Oh I should say something more besides "lolkomachiboobs" before you guys move on, since Komachi's actually one of my favorites (though I think what I'm about to say would probably be better suited in the other thread).
Anyways, from what I gathered, canonically Komachi's not a reaper and just a ferryman, like the ferryman of the River Styx in Greek myth. What surprised me is that she's supposed to be lazy, since I found out about her through SWR (which I couldn't read, but I wouldn't think a lazy character would get involved in a fighter, aside from Reimu and Yukari). My basic impression was "Hey, a redhead with a scythe. She seems cool.". I actually thought she was a villainous charater too, because of the scythe (and her throwing money around).
I have to admit that after reading how she's considered "imposing" (which apparently meant something different to fan artists than "tall and menacing") made me think she'd have a Southern accent if she were dubbed in English. No I don't know why.

Oh god. Now I'm imagining Komachi with the vague southern accent that the dub of Azumanga Daioh gave to Osaka.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYou realize that all of the Windows games have English patches, right?
There wasn't one out when I first played it, but huzzah! Now I have a reason to actually play the game instead of watching and playing in random online matches.
I was thinking more along the lines of how sometimes the media presents strong women as being from Texas (I'm aware not all Texans speak in southern accents), kind of like Rogue from the X-men.

I'm not sure you do. The Story Mode in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody isn't very good if you ask me, but that's definitely a topic for another thread.
So thaaat's one vote for the beloved pebble Koishi.
I can get behind that!
Anyone else?
Sorry. Fully lost in the fantasy of Osaka voicing Komachi. Please leave your name and message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersFirst time I heard that and it does sound interesting, although I liked the idea of her originally being human more. Ah well.
I'm good with Koshi, and I'll also make a vote for Maribel.
Seeing as 1) I'll be out camping till New Year's and 2) all I know of Koishi comes from Koishi the Loving Gourmet and At Chirei, I don't have an essay ready for her, I put in a vote for Koishi.
Time keeps dragging on.To expand on the "Shikieiki=Jizou Statue" thing, apparently it was Komachi who said it. Now, that still does not answer the question of why an always-male figure (Jizou) transformed into a female.

Also, one vote for the Satori Sisters (either of them). Or maybe the exact nature of Yuugi's power.

It would have to be Koishi out of the Satori sisters because we're using the tier system found in the OP.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's exactly what I started doing too. Now I can't unhear it. It actually suits her pretty well.
Komachi actually does have an accent in Japanese.
Is it a Kansai Regional Accent, though?
I can't tell, but probably not. She's repeatedly described as an Edokko, which would put her in pre-Tokyo Tokyo. So kinda old-fashioned I guess?
Hmm... intriguing.
Oh, and I vote Lunar Capital because we're already talking about it in the other thread.
I don't really care much if my idea isn't supported by canon, to be honest.
But that is definitely a cool origin story, too.
@Thorn: Yeah, I think a lot of people here have read it. That chapter's most likely the reason why she was voted for again, actually.
More seriously, she committed crimes against life and death itself, so she's kind of a special case even for someone who doesn't mind death.
Though, I have to wonder how Komachi would regard a murderer, really. I don't think she'd be all "grrr sinner", but I can't imagine that ending the lives of innocent people wouldn't disturb her...
