Bah, Get on the good side of the robots and keep building pops during the revolution. You can let them overrun everyone near you and use the revolution for land grabbing.

Aren't the AI Accords actually preventing your own PO Ps from joining the rebellion?

I don't think your leaders can bail once you have them. You might have trouble generating more if your POPs start leaving en masse, but I think the AI Accord prevents them from even joining, and if you roflstomp the Machine Consciousness quickly, it shouldn't matter either way.

Evidently Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better in 1.3, as missiles are trash and for energy weapons, only plasma and disrupters are good.

Also, with 1.3.1, hyperdrive is easily the worst FTL, as it no longer has in-system jumps and warp can now actually fight back while the cooldown is in effect.

Oh cool, then the faction I made that uses kinetics is in a good position xD

Missiles are apparently good agaisnt unbidden though since they still have the "no armor" thing going on [lol]

Anyhoo current situation: Unbidden is slowly expanding(yay for all surrounding countries being semi powerful), I took Fanatic Spiritualist FE's territory besides homeworld, planning to do same with xenophobes. Only awakened FE is materialists who woke up due to unbidden, but they are next to me instead of being next to unbidden so... Yeah. Overall I'm semi optimistic on whether I will survive in long run, federation partners are all pretty strong and they do seem to actually send forces to unbidden at times. Anyway, let's see if unbidden get up to 200 systems in galaxy(thats 20% of 1000 system so it should trigger Aberrant showing up right? Do Vehement need that or do they just automatically spawn 20 years after Aberrant do?)

Well kinetic weapons do that too.

I'm actually close to the end for kinetics, I think. I'm nearly to Rank 5 in terms of regular guns and I've seen Kinetic Artillery pop up on the Engineering list more than once.

And they do it without being able to get shot down or facing the overkill problems missiles do (lots of potential damage is lost when the target of in-flight missiles is destroyed, which causes the missiles to vanish as well).

I really like the interesting coincidences Stellaris sometimes generates.

I started a new singleplayer game as the Empire of Leng (squidhead humanoids on an alpine world) and I found a bunch of primitive civilisations around my home system.

One of these civilisations is a yeti-like species living on an arctic world - their system has a big world suitable for my species so I sent my first colony ship there and also plopped down an obversation post above them to infiltrate them. They're strong conformists and I'm already happy to find a warrior caste for my empire. When I explored a system right above them my scientist reported signs of pre-sentient life on a small continental moon there. I researched the anomaly and found - you might have guessed it - another yeti-like species.

Normally, the game doesn't spawn two species with the same portrait anymore, except by event (as happened here). But I found it really interesting from a world-building perspective. Do these species have the same ancestors. How did they end up on separate planets? Did I accidentally stumble over some forgotten precursor experiment?

Maybe it's like that episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars with that group of primitive Talz on an icy moon, even though there are civilized Talz elsewhere in the galaxy.

Found one of the new pirate ship models and damn, why can't we have a ship skin like that available for players?

The current selection looks too slick in general, in my opinion.sad I want my scrap-metal ships shooting kinetic ammunition at everything.

Ah, yes, the Galleon. Pain in my ass >.>

I've discovered the limitations of modding now; last night I ended up getting rid of a late-game thing because the ships from the mod I was using (the Sins of the Prophets Stellaris mod) didn't have an X-slot so I couldn't make any of them have Tachyon weapons or their kinetic equivalent. So I changed the species I was using to use Reptilian ships.

Eh, it was a boring game anyway. We were near 2400 and no War in Heaven or hints of a crisis.

So yeah I've been playing random set up in huge galaxies game [lol] Technically finished my last one(though since federation victory screen is broken, I'm not bothering to get victory condition done before I can see it, I have sort of almost won it anyway), so started new one and got xenophobe invidualists.

So my science ship finds book named "The Prince" and researching it triggers event with multiple choices including xenophobe choice which is calling empire to which book belongs to tell that it is bad :D "You can't criticize our literature!" -20 bookburner opinion modifier (hey they were imperialist xenophobes and since random deck dealt me xenophobes gotta be mean which is hard for me)

Wait, how did that happen? XD

Also, anyone think that we should be able to make Dyson spheres and whatnot in this game? Would certainly help with the energy part of economics.

[up] They kind of hinted on making ringworld construction available at some point in the future when asked by players.

Though I suspect it'll be one of these endgame things you do more for self-gratification than because it's useful.

After all, when you're able to construct ringworlds you're usually in a position where you don't need them.

^^I'm not sure actually because I wasn't paying attention, but since alien race I called mentioned last copy of the book being stolen by pirates that it might have been from surveying system where privateers were <_< That or anomaly but I remember avoiding most anomalies in this game until I get high level scientists, so unless it was really low level anomaly, I think it was from surveying privateer system.

[up] So wait, your xenophobic species found the literary work of some other species - and then went through the effort of translating their language just to insult them?

What a bunch of dicks.[lol]

Yes [lol]

On side note, I've had really bad luck with this random draw. Got four eyed bald nosferatu bat people for portraits, my current neighbor is imperialist advanced start who conquered 2/3 out of my previous neighbor(I took that 1/3) and on other side is fanatical purifiers advanced start with cute snailien portrait. Only hyperlane that doesn't go through their borders is to spiritualist fallen empire and behind imperialists is xenophile fallen empires. So even if I went full evil dick with this fanatic invidualist xenophobe civilization of bat people with only one trait, I'd get crushed really fast assuming I manage to avoid being assimilated by either surrounding empire :D

On plus side, if I die at least I sold my pop for xenophile empire(got rather quickly that 1000 energy/mineral gift) so if I get conquered by snailiens, my race will live on and I have gotten lots of free mineral events, so its not all depressing for dickish bat people.

Jesus FUCK it's goddamn expensive to mod your species all at once. It took 29 years for me to simply dump the Repugnant trait from my Fanatical Xenophobe slavers

Something I discovered last night: If you want to go for a Tall empire, spiral arms with warp drives is probably your best bet xD

Oh, I also ran into a Dimensional Horror. Anyone got ideas on how to kill it?

AND ANOTHER THING-I came across an anomaly that got me Kinetic Batteries pretty early in the game, so I've stuck them on a whole particular class of my cruisers xD The other option was Particle Lances but I'm sticking with kinetic weapons still.

Yeah, but I ran across it in the early game xD

Maybe I'll need to be expansionist this time around, especially with a Xenophobe human empire (that oddly enough isn't from Sol) next door to me.

I'm so glad we can finally request lend-lease. It'll help a lot with equipping armies if you're a minor power with few factories.

Is there any point to getting this expansion if you never play as commonwealth nations?
