Put a planet in their place, also build sectors
New theme music also a boxAnother EU 4-related thing: They're implementing a few more wastelands, among them (finally!) the Pyrenees.
Looks like I'm gonna start a new Aragon game after that patch comes out.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. What, if I build sectors then dismantle those outposts does that section of space still count as being part of my control?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Okay, good. I've been having happiness issues lately on some of my colonies anyway.
Also, why the heck do Collectivist empires still get happiness issues from slavery, and why do Militarists get happiness issues from purging and everything else? It goes against their ethos to be angry about it!
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.No, it doesnt.
Military ethos would be more for sending the undeseireables off as mooks then killing them out right.
Slaughtering civilians is dishonorable, and Militarists want honor in battle, not honorless bloodshed.
And Militarist mixed with certain Ethos would probably consider purging an atrocity (Xenophile, Individualist) or wasteful (Materialist, at least when not paired with Collectivist).
Militarist is about directing violence outwards, or at least preparing for war to protect the peace. They only slaughter their own people if it degrades to civil war levels.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Ah, that's true. My new guys are Militarist and Xenophilic so that's a good point.

Amusingly, after the new patch this is not as needed as it once was. With the new fort mechanics, it is a pain to invade Spain from France, I just tried in my Prussian game. I found myself in a war against Spain while allied to France. I wanted to use that opportunity to greatly weaken the Spaniards (and maybe push them out of Italy), but instead I just understood how dangerous it is to siege a mountain fort. Thousands of space marines died trying to conquer the Pyreneese fort. Even though I won all the battlesnote the manpower cost was enormous. And it was all for nothing as war exhaustion kicked in before I had enough warscore to do anything meaningful.
So I tried another game as Germany in HOI 4 for funsies. I spent until around 1940 building up, peacefully annexing countries and stuff, and, eventually allying with the Soviet Union. While the other Comintern nations didn't follow us, the Moscow-Berlin Axis is now rolling over all of Europe and Asia, through Turkey and through the remaining north of France, and from there across Africa and Asia.
I'm actually terrified at how easy this is XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.In my Mali game France annexed Northern Spain (again), so I think it's still needed. :/
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Oh, something else notable I did last night...I won the Second Battle of Jutland. The Navy I'd spent like four years building up managed to beat the French Navy in a pretty big battle near Denmark. No sign of the Royal Navy though, which is odd.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.So on newest stellaris dev diary...
What has scifi writer Banks done? .-. I have no clue what that hints at xD
Ian Banks was responsible for the Culture series. Humanity basically becomes a merger of Hippie AND G-Man Paradise, where the drug and LGBT communities are pretty much The Norm yet their military is top notch and capable of putting down hostiles left, right, and center.
Basically a utopia completely overseen by various groups of AI. The Infinity Machine is based on a similar object that appeared in one of the books.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I'm considering sprinkling in some very large buffs to XL weapons. Currently, they're only a little better than a lone L weapon and have a limited firing arc and you can't exactly spam tachyon lances like you can kinetic artilllery or level 3 plasma cannons. I mean, if I'm devoting a large portion of the ship's length to a massive fuckoff gun, the least it can do is vaporize a corvette every time it connects with one.
Ship layout trivia: assuming 2D Space is in effect, only one kind of battleship can logically bring every gun to bear in an all-large configuration across more than a few degrees of arc - Plantoid. Every other ship design cannot produce a clean broadside or all-guns-forward volley and instead needs some "over the shoulder" angling, while the Plantoid design has all six turrets right in a row and can bring them all to bear across somewhere between 300 and 330 degrees of arc.

The Third Reich has invaded the British Isles. Britain is not making it easy for us xD Turkey has capitulated though, and we basically have naval superiority in the North Sea. The Mediterranean is another matter, however. At least we're making good progress in Africa.
Unfortunately, once Europe and Africa are (relatively) secure, we're going to have to invade America and Canada and that's gonna be very difficult.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.@Librarian: I wonder if that is a really weird way of saying that first expansion will be about sector AI instead of the actual AI?
I would like actual AI.....
Speaking of, if I sign the AI Acoords can other empires still tiger robot rebellions?
And if they do can I keep my robots still?
Yes, other nations can still build AI, but if you give yours equal rights they won't end up rebelling against you. Though they might leave to join the rebellion if it kicks off anywhere else.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Can I still build more though?
It might not be the best to do during the AI revolution XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Well it's more me trying to figure out if I would keep my robot leaders/generate more, not so much pops.
Ugh, I want more Influence in Stellaris but me dismantling any of my Frontier Outposts will cause me to lose a ton of my border spread XD
